Sleazy worked extensivley with NIN, If you have heard The Downward Spiral you will understand NIN is not pop music for goth kids. Its a masterpiece, Throbbing Gristle would be proud of. An artist should not be dismissed because they have sold over 1 million records.
NIN is so overrated, its a load of bollocks. anyone who mentions NIN and supposedly likes industrial music really has no idea, NIN is pop/rock music for goth kids
@AlexanderWodehouse your goth. one day you might grow out of labelling yourself something so stupid, what does being a goth actually mean? isn't that a trend that kids who listen to marilyn manson call themselves.
@noisemann No it's based on Gothic Literature it's just an interested for the darker side of life. Anyways you're very rude everyone is aloud there own opinion I never like NIN because I guess because I never really got into them, I watched some videos I realized that I did not like them so much. I do enjoy Manson but a lot of people don't consider him goth. Anyways thank you for your time. P.S. I'm studying to be a doctor, music is not everything. :)
Eh, I don't like NIN but they are a good stepping stone for someone just starting out exploring industrial, most people don't go straight from pop to Masonna/TG/Kazumoto Endo or whatever.
Plus NIN's got one EP that truly fits under the industrial umbrella, I don't remember what it's called though.
Hm, no, I think it's called Fixed or something like that. It's the one NIN release that I like, but like I said before, NIN is probably something you should have listened to, just like you might want to listen to Boards of Canada if you're going to explore electronica, etc.
@noisemann NIN may be a bit over-rated, but Reznor is still a great musician, I think. It certainly doesn't help that the one local rock station in my area plays 'Closer' once every three hours, and all the doofuses like it solely for the word 'fuck'.
its just so freaking awesome to hear stuff like this. the birth and origin of industrial music. it kinda gives me goosebumps. its like listening to some weird never before heard stuff from a different world.
What a day for suicide and sexual offences musical experimentation!
@MrAnubis89 Actually, while being a fan of EDM and EBM, I actually find this music quite powerful, amusing and meaningful. After all, this is where it all began! If it wasn't for this guys, the revolution of rock, and earlier, Edgard Varèse (probably what throbbing gristle would have sounded like if they were born on the turn of the century), none of that would even exist!
I am also a fan of recent danceable post-industrial music and other electronic dance music etc. However I imagine a lot of people with similar tastes are dissapointed by original industrial slow strange pace. It's important to remeber this is meant for introspection, not the dance floor.
favourite album cover ever.

This type of music originally came from the 50's. The techniques for sounds were made from things like tapping dental tuool connected to amplifiers.
