  • I want a splittie bus as my first car! I don't care what anyone says! I'm keeping it 'til the day I die, then my son's gonna do the same.

  • omg this is my dream car a 67 vw bus w/ a travle rack i wish i could buy one but i am only 12

  • @ralphierules123 You can get one for about 5,000,-10,000 now-a-days

  • @redskinsfreak614 yeah i know so im starting to save for one then my dad will work on it for me when i turn 15

  • @ralphierules123

dude, iknow sexiest car alive, relivin the 1960's music and life

  • @ralphierules123 not to mention there really friggen expensive, my uncle just bought one for 8 grand, thats a damn good deal in my opinion.... as seeing there are some in worse shape for 10-20 grand. My dad seen a 23 window bus all in boxes for 43,000 thats bad!

  • Michigan is pretty tough on VW's I guess....hmmm! (beyond the heaters driven by an air-cooled engine...)

Interesting that splittys cost so much these days, yet when you consider all the time and the cost of parts, a lot of the folks that sell restored buses still don't make money by doing so. A true labor of love. A lot of EV conversions are in that same league.

  • About how much/how long you think it'll take till its fully restored?

  • It was drivable after about two years of work. Everything else now is just when I have the money. All together, it cost maybe as much as a new midrange Kia, although I've never actually added up the receipts. Worth every penny!
