@ralphierules123 not to mention there really friggen expensive, my uncle just bought one for 8 grand, thats a damn good deal in my opinion.... as seeing there are some in worse shape for 10-20 grand. My dad seen a 23 window bus all in boxes for 43,000 thats bad!
Michigan is pretty tough on VW's I guess....hmmm! (beyond the heaters driven by an air-cooled engine...)
Interesting that splittys cost so much these days, yet when you consider all the time and the cost of parts, a lot of the folks that sell restored buses still don't make money by doing so. A true labor of love. A lot of EV conversions are in that same league.
It was drivable after about two years of work. Everything else now is just when I have the money. All together, it cost maybe as much as a new midrange Kia, although I've never actually added up the receipts. Worth every penny!
I want a splittie bus as my first car! I don't care what anyone says! I'm keeping it 'til the day I die, then my son's gonna do the same.
