This was when jay had it the lyrical style and skill to give top name rappers back in 96 a run for their money but now all he cares about is making hip pop music for the casual hip hopper the true heads suffer for the lack of heart and soul in a art form that change the landscape of music

Jayz is not meant to be a pop artist. The thing about Jay is, he adapts to the times and trends that go which is the whole reason why he has survived for like 14-15 years now. Rap/Hip hop same with the whole music industry and Jay is a true businessman and will go along with which is more in demand. People don't listen to lyrics anymore, it's all about the beat now.

@busymike I don't know what version of Jayz you talk about being simple BP3 Jayz or the Reasonable Doubt Jayz. The Reasonable Jayz is one of the best lyrical albums in the rap world. Listen to the track "D'evils" for instance. You will be stunned by what you've been missing. Listen to "Can I Live". Listen to the whole Reasonable Doubt and you'll see the true Hova.
