  • Lovely pictures. Would it be fair to say that shooting on 16mm is the film equivalent of 15ips and 35mm the equivalent of 30ips audio?

  • nice cameras... too bad red camera is beating its ass...

  • @htunlogic

Right...then why are most theatrically released motion pictures shot on film currently?

  • i got a boleh h16.. no fancy electronic dials and buttons.. just plain old fashioned start and stop..

  • THere needs to be some kind of cooperative for those of us who want to shoot on film but can't afford the direct expense.

  • very cool (doco) of ARRI

  • If I won a lottery I'd buy an Arri.

  • Never let film die, if Dolby, DLP, and the MPAA have there way, if consumers keep supporting Digital Cinema that's what's going to happen, Shame on PANAVISION for building 3 models of what they call Digital Film Cameras...

    Never Let Film Die...

  • @Fader2003 I love digital for it's speed, accuracy, ability to shoot an unlimited amount, all that.

But I love film more because it's about passion and skill.

I'm a starting photographer but in many ways I love my 1980s Canon T70 over my $2,000+ kit for my digital T2i.

  • great music!

  • amazing cameras! the SR3 is my favorite! so easy to use!

  • so awesome

  • Celluloid, Film will always be used. Count on that.

  • @flickerman68 Film has a longer archival life span. Every video and digital drive gets replaced every 2-5 years at the longest and little is done to deal with the issues that follow. Film has been used for over a hundred years and much of the earliest films can be properly stored and projected as if recently printed and transferred from the negative.

  • 3:00 turtle hits camera housing lol. I just love the look of film, wish that was my camera.

  • Mama kaufst du mir auch eine Arriflex D20 ?

  • Sorry :-( don't understand (?) English ?

  • I think I'm gonna ask my mum if she buys me an Arriflex D20! Neeeeeeeeeed!

  • Urgh!!

D-20, Genesis, Cine Alta. Alles nur Video! Hat doch nichts mehr mit Film zu tun.

  • i wish i had the budget to shoot on film!

  • To hell with video -- I have always and always will be in love with FILM -- video just does not cut it for me...

  • Regrettably, in less than 10 years the good old film is history. I don`t like video too but tha`s the future.

I am a film projectonist in Hamburg. Recently they replaced our Prevost and Kinoton machines through a D-Cinema system from NEC. I think for the cinemas the filmtime is rather over than for filmproduction.

    Greetings from Hamburg!

  • .. and who died and made you the future predictor? Film is mature, video isn't. New film stocks will always be made. Get with reality. Enough said.

  • @vglover yeah true, but film will soon be rarely used, because RED is coming.........count on it

  • lol Redone is compressed video footage...

  • Amen dammit.

  • i have 2 of them... one in the bedroom and one in the kitchen XDD

  • Great book - The from Jon Fauer, great clips from Jon Fauer VHS, I have got the book but didn't get the VHS from Amazon seller, he tricked me. does any one have got copy of this video, suppose to be 3 VHS. Thanks

  • Made in Germany : Arri = Arnold & Richter Cine Technik GmbH & Co. Betriebs KG, Munich.

  • Love the SR2 and SR3 series. Great cameras!

  • Cool

  • at 2:33, i know they're supposed to adjust the mirror shutter, but i just don't understand how xD

  • i wish i can own an arri, arri = professsional of the professional camcorder

  • Thanks AsianStvex, Arri makes great products! Thanks, Burnie

  • @AsianStvex So do I. The Arri SR model in particular are much easier to load and give wonderful results and are still relatively new when it comes to movie cameras.

  • Quality Work. Excellent. I am proud to be a ARRIFLEX Supporter.
