  • She has lovely feet and is very pretty!!!

  • Joy and beauty.

  • PLEAAAASE post the male variation!!!! Ivanchenko is amazing I want to see it SOOO BAD :D.

  • oh wow, i just "discovered" her and she is absolutely gorgeous! she is never losing her turn out. like.. never. amazing!

  • Some people dislike Nastya, but I love her. There are some somewhat messy video floating around of her in Swan Lake... and she was blonde then. Was she going through a hard time? She's so gorgeous now. Maybe she's just matured... I love her. Nastia, Katya and Zhenya all need to be promoted to principal. ASAP.

  • How do you get such beautiful boreas (I can't spell it)

  • @hilly031 Years of hard work.

  • I do like her, specially in this role, but I wonder why she get better roles than Yana Selina??

  • @odile77 Nastia is better. Great Odette/Odile. Great Gamzatti. Probably great Giselle, but no good videos exist of her in Giselle and that includes Mariinsky filmed videos. Nastia should be a principal.

  • @russianballetvideo I would definitely love to see videos of her on Giselle some day, still somehow I like Selina so much, she is so secure onstage, I like that very much in a dancer... well maybe Kolegova has better chances to get to principal...

  • WOW! I would kill for that extension!

  • Very, very good! Although her legs go just a touch too high for my taste, and sometimes she doesn't point her foot until after it's left the floor, she has very elegant port de bras/upper body and a warm presence. I look forward to seeing her when the Mariinsky tours to the US in Feb!

  • OMG HER FEET! :O

  • Wow...she's great. Hope we see more of her.

  • She's definitely one of the best Auroras i've ever seen! She's such a beautiful dancer with a nice lines, gorgeous feet and what I noticed first -a beautiful natural smile! She is just perfect for this role!

  • love her feet and musicality

  • Refreshing to see a true happy smile instead of those painted on showing teeth.Loved the spring in the sisonnes. Radiante!LOVE this post KT. (Miss the fishdives)

  • No diving fish in Russia. Nureyev probably first saw it at the Royal Ballet in London, since I doubt that ever was done in Russia, by Russians.

  • gorgeous

  • I don't really like that in 1:45 she's not looking at her prince but at the audience. Maybe because it's gala, not full SB, but still I don't like it.

I have the same feeling like Pearlaceous - she's nice Aurora but it's Obraztsova who takes my breath away.

  • You should not make comments that you have no knowledge about. Just because Mr.Lopez put up the Obraztsova reconstruction Sleeping Beauty which has her looking at her prince, you assume that since Kolegova is not looking at her prince that she is doing it wrong. i checked one of my old Sleeping Beauty Pankova videos and it is 100% certain that the difference between what Obraztsova does and Kolegova does is the Vikharev version versus the Sergeyev version. Search Kolpakova Soloviev Beauty.

  • Ohhhhh! You are teasing me with your reference to a Pankova Sleeping Beauty! Would love to see Yelena as Aurora!

  • Oh wow! That Kolpakova/Soloviev clip is fabulous - the amazing Soloviev launching himself into the air so effortlessly and the radiant pure classicism of Kolpakova. Thanks for the recommendation!

  • Yuri Soloviev & Irina Kolpakova Sleeping Beauty is the exact title of the video by soubrette from the 1960s. Kolpakova finshes in the exact position that Kolegova is in. In the 1960s, the Kirov did Sergeyev's version and he was artistic director then. Pankova finshes in that position and i am certain that all the older ballerinas finshed in that position. i did not check any of the new Sleeping Beauty videos that petyarus has put up., but if they are different then Kirov kept some of Vikharev

  • I checked one video that petyarus put up with Tereshkina and probably so many are used to the new Vikharev version that she does the head as in the Vikharev version, but the oldest video on youtube with the original Sergeyev version is that 1960s Kolpakova one and she has her head to the audience, exactly the same as Kolegova. I suspect that if i looked at al my old Sleeping Beauty videos, probably (not 100% certain) every Kirov ballerina will have the head to the audience like 1960s Kolpakova

  • Final and 4th comment on this issue, that is really Vikharev versus Sergeyev, is that you can make one comment saying that you do not like the head to the audience and make a different comment that you prefer Obraztsova, but do not combine them, suggesting that this is one of the reasons that you prefer Obraztsova.

I happen to think that Obraztsova is a great Aurora, but I do not like unknowledgeable comments as to why she is better than someone else.

  • But I didn't mean that Kolegova does wrong because Obraztsova does differently. It's just my personal opinion which is like this also because I get used to Auroras who are looking at Desire. I don't criticise Kolegova but choreography.

Also my saying that I prefer Obraztsova has nothing to do with it, because I prefer her because of many different reasons.

  • Then I misinterpreted your comment. I saw, what was actually a choreography difference, to be one of the reasons that you prefer Obraztsova, and choreography should never be a reason why one dancer is preferred over another. Many peoplel, including myself, love Genia in Sleeping Beauty and that role, unquestionably is her greatest role and many consider her the best Aurora today. Too bad that she did not perform that role in Japan, nor will she in the US , next month.Politics rares it'sugly head

  • Pah! Stupid Mariinsky management!

  • In fact Obraztsova danced Aurora in Japan, not in Tokyo but in the nameless local city. So I couldn't see her latest version.

And I cherished Sergeyev version very much. In his one, Aurora danced to the audience pretty much, and she has the "it" factor like someone from the Louis -quatorzien court.

  • I was going to say I thought she looked really beautiful.

  • I love her legs!!!!

  • Beautiful feet - she looks amazing, and dances the variation so well ... but, overall, Obraztsova still has the edge as Aurora for me!

  • Wow, she does have improved over the summer! I saw her full Aurora in Covent Garden in August and through it was lovely I find her much better here

I remember her laugh when I gave her a picture of herself with blond hair to autograph :P. She was so nice backstage.

  • Perfect!

  • She is the Aurora whom I've been dreeming of for long. Amazing legs, yes.

But the most inportant thing is she looks pure, lovely and lively beyond all the difficult techiniality. Also she has this playful coquettery like Madame Kolpakova !

  • I'm going to have to watch this again because the first time through all I could look at were those AMAZING feet! :P She sort of resembles Polina Semionova + Anastasia Mativienko on Sylvie Guillem's legs!

  • Many, many thanks for this! It was this pas de deux that first made me appreciate Kolegova.

  • Perfection ! By far the best Aurora I have ever seen !!!!

  • She is absolutely lovely!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for the video!
