  • This is healing......The arduous journey of becomming comfortable and confident with one's self

  • This is such an incredible piece of work. I watched this about 3 years ago when I first heard about super 8 and Straight 8, and the title stayed with me. I'm just amazed at what they did in-camera!

  • This is a very well done film, Straight 8 is not for amateurs, most of the people in youtube has never shot a single frame or film.

  • Felicidades!

    esta muuuuuuy chido

  • A more interesting entry here - the music somehow fit in a disjointed way - and the flow was stunning. well done !

  • my mind feels like this most days

    visably aroused!

  • great work, i wish i could see more of this director, he's quite different from the other mexican directors i've seen

  • This is a great work.

Godard must flip in his Tombe.

For clark9413/ I think there is no such thing as 'ultimate saying' as a oeuvre d'art it belongs to the viewer to put its own interpretation on it avoided existentiel question as 'yes but why is it for" ASk yourself "why you are watching it", I bet it would puzzle you!!

  • But surely the author had something in mind when they made it?

  • I hope you burn in Heel.

  • I love this, great work.. I hope there is more like this work..

  • Obviously people do not understand the concept of the filmmaking process involved in putting together a straight 8 film - I think you did a great job - well done!

  • poor women... anyway, not bad at all..

  • amazing the light reminds me of mine

  • I understand that the film is possibly trying to comment on women's position in society through the images of the broken heel, investigation, and secretary's desk, but what is it ultimately saying?

I'm a self-educated film critic, so there could have been several elements I overlooked in the piece. If so, please tell me.

  • Thats what i see as well but i also see it as an art piece there's a nice steady flow to it with so many interpretations and various themes. I like it. parts of it reminds me of the fairy tale element of the France film "Amelie" Sometimes things are not meant to have a purpose its just about the flow.

  • I have to agree the flow of the scenes and editing is incredible considering it's all in-camera 8mm film.

  • The animation sequences were interesting but overall, I thought this work to have rather amateurish direction, scoring, and storyboarding. For example, when the protagonist is transported to the meadow, the camera rotations are not smoothly done, but jump for no obvious reason. The music is altogether unnecessary; it adds no emotion to the unfolding scenes and is just cute and poppy.

  • That is brilliant work!

    FANTASTIC

  • awesome!

  • Cute film. It didn't kill me but it's ok. Ten yyears ago I would have thought it was great. Get thhe idea?

Congratulations, it's a real nice piece.

    Peace and love, everyone.

  • thas cool

  • I get it. It's symbolic of stuff.

  • I like the music.

  • Hmm. It's okay, but not really doing it for me.

  • Yeah, those judges in Cannes must have been on drugs during the screening...

  • Great

  • futureshorts does great short films =)

  • they are only collecting those films on their channel.

  • Straight 8 is a brilliant concept and this is a fantastic example. What a wonderful way to work.

  • well done and quite surreal - but i'm afraid i don't see the point...

  • A perfect artistic short film... specially i fascinated by brilliant formation and superb mise-en-scene

  • she needs to get mighty mend

  • Bardzo ciekawy filmik.

  • Luv it.

  • Why does everyone else think this is bad?

I think this was very nice and a good short film,

  • the shots, camera techiniques and editing were very interesting but i didnt care about or understand the story

  • ok,that's it! i'm unsubscribing!

  • It's alright... have seen better short-films though...

  • crazy, but interesting

  • wtf?

  • i agree.

    wtf?

  • very cool.

  • ok.

  • This looks like it would be amazing to someone that is interested in this stuff, however I don't get the point of any of these videos you've done recently. Perhaps I should unsubscribe. I'm very sorry if anyone disagrees with my opinion but it's just how I feel.

  • Really good I like it.

  • Very cool!

  • in craftsmanship and style, I am in absolute awe.

it seems too beautiful to be on the internet.

  • I agree and I am impressed by the seamless use of so many techniques. Can't believe there was no editing. This guy has a future. At least, cult status.

  • this is so unbelievably impressive

does anyone have any insight into how they did the collage stop-motion sequence toward then end? how would anyone be able to measure the motion/length of exposure to such an exact degree?

  • Trippy Indeed.

  • Not a big fan of the totally ignorant comment

  • haha ftw!

  • how was that ignorant? some people don't like completely symbolic crap...I found this entertaining and kind of followed it but on a different day I might have hated it...I see what that guys saying

  • a lady with dreams to be something else other than a secretary. I dig! Lot's of cool stuff I happened I was not expecting at all. Reminded me of Michel Gondry a little bit.

  • dont know if there was any reasin tio it but its different i watched it 2 times lol

  • Don't understand this

  • I like the music.

  • no story but very visually amusing. and they got the eye candy right. 5/5

  • There is no editing? This is very artistic! =)

    Thank you for sharing!

  • beauty, but creepy a lil =/

  • i love that it was shot on 8mm. :D

  • That seemed like a lot of effects for a small amount of story telling.

  • Entertaining. Why would she have left her purse and shoe on the floor in front of the desk?

  • freakin sweet!! :D
