Kendall Gill had/has game. I saw him a few months ago working out and his body is still slamming. From his high school and college days he played honest basketball. You never heard of him being involved in any altercations and that spells class in my book.

very unselfish player. when the nets drafted keith van horn, kendall gill sacrificed his game to bring the rookie into the system. kendall gill could have been a perennial 20 ppg scorer in the league if he wanted to take a lot of shots.

@VeoShock Make one of Sean Elliott for me man lol, naw just playing but he was one of my fave players in the 90's spite a few down years in Detroit and later with that Kidney problem :( I remember all these guys from Dale Ellis, Kendal Gill, Sherman Douglas (LOL), Harold BABY JORDAN MINOR (What a mistake of a nickname), Chuck Person (Rifleman), Del Curry and so many more names! Man I loved the NBA then and grew up on it. Most remember MJ or Pippen or blah blah blah, I remember all!

@onblock7 I'm 38, born and raised in Seattle, Sonics and Blazers fan, so I'm rather familiar with names like Daaaalllllle.....Ellis, Kendal Gill. When I learned to shoot ONE-handed, I tried to emulate Ellis' form. I was so pumped in 1993 when we got budding star Kendall Gill. Belive it or not,I went to USC from 91-93, played pickup with Baby Jordan, and he tried to teach me how to shoot (I still shot two-handed until I was 19).

@onblock7 Thanks! It wasn't intentional, but I've really lost much touch with the NBA after the Sonics left Seattle. It's just that I don't have 60-70 games with a local team to follow, so I just inevitably lose touch with players who play for other teams.

he should have stayed in charlotte, never really stood out in seattle. had some good years in new jersey. just seemed that he played better on bad teams, when he played on good teams just didnt stand out

Kendell Gill played 15 years in the NBA (the best professional basketball league in the world) and earned probably 8-10million per year.

I personally think that anyone making 8-10million per year in the NBA is successful. You don't?

I am pretty sure about his salary, but I just didn't want to give details about every year of his career as that would take too long. Secondly, a lot of money is successful. I guess anyone that can retire at 35 years old is successful.

My point is if I make 15 millions a year and I only average 5 points and 2 rebounds per game doesnt make me successful but just lucky !! got it now ? Kobe: lot o money, 4 titles: successful / Jerome James: 6millions a year, no titles, poor stats: not successful !! Bottom line, gettin a lot of money doesnt mean being successful at all

That depends on how they manage their money...look at Sprewell, Antoine Walker, even Mike Tyson. Guys who now have serious money issues despite having earned tens of millions of dollars in their careers. I once heard that 6/10 NBA players go bankrupt within 5-10 yrs after their last game, sometimes within 5 yrs. It happens alot you just hear about it with the popular names really.

i was thinking the same thing, about him playing for every team in the NBA.....BUT he was an average/good player. and remember that he played in the 90s, where the NBA was filled with great players and played REAL DEFENSE (not like now, u sneeze on a player and its a foul)...if he played in this era he would be very very good. the 90s was a tough league, now-a-days the game just gecame soft.

Kendall had alot of potential. He was a solid to good player n was a wild card for any team. That was y he lasted a while in the NBA. Even shorty after he retired, some teams still were interested no lie. He was a good player that could help a team. He could run the floor, hit the 3, solid finisher at the rim n a good defender.

@Lcacique I'm Seattle born and raised, and 38 now. I blame George Karl's ego for running Gill out of town. I loved Hawk, but Gill was said to be a budding superstar back in 1992.

@abysmalatrocious I have a tape that I converted to DVD of the Sonics playing the Suns. Gill has an awesome play where he is going up for a jumper deep on the baseline and someone is coming out to block the shot. Instead of traveling or getting his shot blocked, he follows through with his shot motion but purposely shoots it much lower so it hits the defenders elbow, bounces back to him and he dribbles to an open spot and hits the shot. A really crafty play.

@Lcacique Good stuff! In 1993-94 REGULAR season, we were sky high in Seattle when Gill arrived. We were crushing the Washington Bullets IN Washington early in the season, Gill drove to the basket, went in nonchalantly, flew in, then did a one-handed right hand cocking up and down, then slam dunk! I had such high hopes for Gill.
