No really this was idiotic. 4 string basses are just as good... the number of the strings doesn't matter... and if you want your sound to be more treble you can achieve it without a 5th string... but if you don't know how to play then whatever... you can't sound good.

Lower pitch. There is an added lower string called a B on a five-string bass. It's beastly.
