Elder I'd heard how much it blew from everybody and their cousin...but when I heard it I was like "this doesn't suck...I'm so confused". Carnival of Souls was great too. In retrospect, I think that KISS should have taken time off after "Alive II" and came back in 1980 with "Creatures of the Night." They became just way to overexposed in 1978-79, plus "Dynasty" and "Unmasked", not to mention "The Elder" was shit. I think that their record label just demanded too many records in a short amount of time from them, and the fans got burned out. Plus, the movie took away a lot of their mystique.

If it had been written and directed in slick Hollywood style, it would have ruined it, I think. Cause at that time KISS was way bigger than Hollywood.

@malcolmcox I love everything KISS has ever done. Dynasty has some of my favourite songs. Elder I'd heard how much it blew from everybody and their cousin...but when I heard it I was like "this doesn't suck...I'm so confused". Carnival of Souls was great too. I like how one band has so many different sounds but it's all still KISS

@malcolmcox You're not alone. I own every KISS studio album. All four live albums. Plus the live recording from the most recent show I was attended as well as "The Lost Alive II". Plus countless demo discs and the like. I can listen to every album start to finish. Love every song. So no, you're not alone.

An african american played Ace in certain scenes especially in the Chamber of Thrills scene, and Kiss nearly broke up after the movie wrapped.

it's funny ,,at this point kiss was the biggest band in the world..they lost their sense of direction..record company and drugs/booze forced the worst on kiss..but they still changed the face of rock and always took shit for the bands to follow in the 80's ...

I love the movie they did. its a riot. plus they had on the best costumes, the "Love Gun" outfits. now adays they only wear either the alive outfits or the destroyer outfits

kiss stoped being kiss when they split up.
besides a hand full of their songs are cover versions of otherbands.
they wore good ¨'im not dening that.but after the orginal line up split,it went souer.they still had a few good songs but it wasn¨t the same..

KISS is coming out with a new studio album in september, though its not with Ace and Peter, hahah its funny when losers like you call KISS a tribute band because Ace and peter are not in the band. Remeber, its not Ace and Peter's band, its Paul and Genes. Also, because they have more money then you will ever make in your life, I think KISS can sell their merch and as much as they want of it. hahah such a sad person you are! haha KISS is the greatest!

In retrospect, I think that KISS should have taken time off after "Alive II" and came back in 1980 with "Creatures of the Night." They became just way to overexposed in 1978-79, plus "Dynasty" and "Unmasked", not to mention "The Elder" was shit. I think that their record label just demanded too many records in a short amount of time from them, and the fans got burned out. Plus, the movie took away a lot of their mystique.

i agree. the elder sucked and all the disco sucked and when ace and peter left they sucked and still do without them.i saw them in 1976 and i saw them on the 2nd show of the reunion tour in louisville. with all the originals they are killer, without all four just bullshit money machine

Great line! And everybody bitches about that movie - I think it's pretty cool. It wasn't supposed to be a Robert Dinero blockbuster - it was just a fun movie with the greatest band in the world. If it had been written and directed in slick Hollywood style, it would have ruined it, I think. Cause at that time KISS was way bigger than Hollywood.

Speaking of Beethoven's Fifth, someone on here made a YouTube Poop of the movie and did a bit where Ace didn't stop laughing at that joke and edited it so that it looked like he was interrupting Gene, it was pretty funny~! (I think the video's called "Easy, Catman!")
