saw him and arlo guthrie in cleveland last summer, best concert of my entire life... except for jeff beck two days ago, which MIGHT be in the same ballpark
Incredible sound- like an old friend said,"All he does is strum the damn thing!" One of a kind, Richie. He did a recording of "MInstrel From Gault" around 1970 that someone needs to post. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE
mhd- thanks for prompting me to look further- I found it. You tube, its posters, and Richie still call it "Minstrel From Gault" , but it still comes up, even misspelled, and still is a tremendous song.
I saw Richie and Walter Parks (the guitarist) tonight and I have to say it was one of the best performances I have ever seen. Over forty years of music and still going strong.
Met Richie once at JFK Airport. Swapped stories about our Guild acoustics. Fantastic guy. Friendly, down-to-earth. A journeyman musician. Still travelling and playing. Like me. Good on you, Richie.
Yes! It was a great final evening to a fantastic weekend - Richie and fellow musicians just shone out! Glad I kept enough memory on my camera to capture these three songs!

Saw Richie sing this at Great American Music Hall in SF last year. Initially, I thought, "But Obama..."
Leaders all get the opium of power and offer their butts to the highest bidder.
Mr Natural sez: "Twas ever thus."

Saw Richie and these two excellent co-musicians perform these songs here in Connecticut last summer.
My wife said it was less like a concert, more like a spiritual experience. I have to agree.
Thanks Richie, and thank you "beachviewman"!!!!

Thanks for the comment. Richie is one of the greats from the Woodstock generation without a doubt. I regularly watch this video.

He is a great person. After the concert he did a meet & greet with the audience along with Walter & Stephanie.
