I can distinguish between Swedish (gravis and acute accent) and Danish (glottal stop). But I can't hear any difference between Norwegian (Bokmal or Nynorsk) and Swedish, although they look very different in writing. Both languages have that funny gravis/acute accent. What are the differences for a foreigner's ear?

@Phoneme1000 Norwegian is like mountains (pitch up and down) - Swedish like hills, and danish like a flat landscape :-)

They can understand each other's language. Or so it seems. Still he is speaking Swedish from time to time. Why does he do that if she understands him? Could you tell (if you're from Sweden) whether you understand Danish and the other way round? What a pity there are no subtitles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These languages are very interesting! Tack sa mycket.
