"Science is useless unless we have units to express what is happening mathematically and the Austrians fail at the first hurdle."
Austrian economics is, in fact, economic science. To understand this takes a bit of work, however, in the philosophy of science and what, exactly, legitimately qualifies as being "science" in the realm of studying human behavior.
Whatever adherence to free market principles that one witnesses in Austrians, is born not of "faith", but of reason.
How can you prove something that we didn't do would have been better? The depression of 1920 comes to mind. It was over in 18 months and was in ways worse than the first year of the great depression. What did we do to end it quickly? We cut (yes, cut) gov't spending by 50%.
You ought to read his book Crash Proof, obviously he is generalizing for the audience, but he does explain some of the things the government does. Like implied guarantees on Fannie Mae and Freddie mac and how that led to distortions in gauging risk. By virtue of approaching the field of economics as a science you are automatically at a disadvantage, a person is far better off approaching economics from a behavioral perspective. I will send you a paper describing why government is so harmful.
Apparently my second post never went through so here i go again... As for the common argument that the war ended the depression, you would bo correct to argue that it did not, and no Austrian has EVER argued this before. What ended the great depression was the reduction in government control and massive cuts in govt spending and taxation. It was the realsing of economic capital and production that brought the depression to an end, and nothing else.
You are right that it can't be 100% proven (just as you can't prove that the terrible policies of FDR ended the depression), but you can look at other recessions (all of which were shorter) and find the differences in policies tried, this will help you figure out what caused the recession to become a depression, and what made the dep. last as long as it did. The difference is the MASSIVE govt intervention, which never occured during any past recession, and the outcome was a great depression.
Wow, maybe you should try reading a bit on your discredited doctrine. You just said we should look to the New Deal for advice, why would any intelligent human being want to adopt policies that would ensure prolonged depression?
You're an uneducated F*ck inventing shit with no factual backing because you're too scared to admit you're wrong. I'm sure you have better things to do though... like making out with the Easter Bunny and defending the existence of Santa

It is a violation of individual rights.
The moral purpose of government should be TO PROTECH INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS.

The Money , they stole from the people trough exploatation ... Im just getting them back ..
No one is making no one , we all do work together , because its the proper thing to do . Your thinking is decadent individualist thinking ... why dont you go in the forest , mine your own iron ore , coal , uyranium even , all buy yourself , and be your own country .. all buy yourself ... just dont call it freedom ...
because you get paid money , you do nt do a good job ... because thats your goal , making money , not making a quality product or doing it to complete the goal ... the plan , etc ... you just whant your cash , thats ewhy your economy is in the shitter , people working so they can buy alchohol ... not because of the need to create and build ... thats your problem ...
"because you get paid money , you do nt do a good job ... because thats your goal , making money , not making a quality product or doing it to complete the goal ... the plan , etc ..."
you won't make any money if you don't make a quality product. come on dude, this is the essence of capitalism.
What kind of lazy burjoazy you are ???Socialist Work makes people healthier and is good for the state ... but you need helthcare for the people , so they can work better , for the ideals so they can be free to create and help out the state in building socialism...also education , so the proletariat can switch jobs ...if so needed or desired ...
Hey, if socialist work makes people healthier and is good for the State, then go right ahead and be my guess, but let me opt out of the socialism BS.
See that is the problem, socialist need other people for thier plans to work, free markets and freedom doesn't need anyone else to be forced into thier system for it to work.
Socialism can't work unless you force people against thier will to be a part of it.
That is not true, I have installed flooring in houses ALL by myself. It does not take a collective effort to have production, one single person can be productive.
The problem is, the State wants to rob 40% of my production. Another problem is, they have socialized the money.
I just want to be free and independent, from 1789 until 1913 thier was no income tax, except for a short time during the Civil War.
Let me opt out of all of the socialist bullshit I don't come crying to the State
"in a capitalist society , means the right to steal from the hard working"
Um, no. It's not theft if it's a voluntary transaction you idiot. You seem to think that it's easy to run a business. Well, if it's so easy why don't you go do it and make a bunch of money instead of whining about it?
Your idea of the "efford" is involuntary servitude to benefit some at the expense of others. Mine is voluntary cooperation for the benefit of every individual involved. Mine is the creation of NEW wealth rather than the theft of existing wealth.
If you believe otherwise, you are a common criminal, plain and simple.
Hey dont tell me , what mine idea of "eford " is .. you dont know that ...
you are completly ronge .. eford is the masses desinding to have the freedom of being resposible and build a better world .. build a better country ..the proper way . for the benefit ofd all , not just some selected individuals like you propose ...
"creating welth "??? what printing fake money is not enough for you ... ??? you are insane .you are steealing not the workers . you are stealing from them .
So it's okay if they don't agree to be part of the socialist system? Really?
Well, good. That's what a free society is. And--guess what--you could start your communist society right here in the U.S. and no one would interfere as long as it was a voluntary association.
If, on the other hand, you would use violence and coercion to establish and promote your society, then that is one of the few things that I would not hesitate to sacrifice my life to prevent.
I already told you, printing money does not create wealth. I am in favor of abolishing central banks and fiat currencies altogether. You have no idea what money is or what wealth is. Learn some economics before you spout off.
Im for abolishing banks too ... but i think we should ban curancy too , and trade in comodities , that will defeat capitalism ...but before that ..just having one big national one People`s bank is fine .for the time being until we get as far as banning money .
I don't want to abolish banks--I just want to abolish banks that have monopoly power over the economy (central banks). Capitalism is just trade. Money is just a medium of exchange between those trades that makes it easier. Money started as a commodity (gold). What's wrong with money?
I sound like a drugged out hippie? You think that wanting to improve your self means going out into the woods and digging up my own ore, and building my own house? Well that could be the case ifwere were the only human left alive. But hey, I would be going out to improve my life by doing so.
Your assumption that I'm an anarchist is baseless. Government is needed because many people choose to do bad things. But forcing people to be charitable is slavery in a guise.
Of course it's charity. Charity isn't just for the rich, I donate 10% of my income to charity. And it goes to more than just healthcare. Healthcare would be much more affordable if it weren't for government subsidies.
No , you got it compleatly ronge , Charity is individual eford that doesnt make any real change .. we talk about government intiotives here , policies ,,, real change ....
not just a way for the people to feel good about themselves buy donating ...
No. Money is not value, and printing more money does not create more value. Money is only a measure of value. Value is created whenever something new is made that fulfills the needs and desires of human beings.
You can be socialist in an individualist country if you want--you just can't force someone else to do the same. And when you can't force people, socialism falls apart.
"The rest of the people will prevent you from being recless"
Which "people?" How? In an equal society, what makes your beliefs and values more valid than mine? By what authority can you control me, if I cannot do the same to you?
You are a pathetic advocate of tyranny, coercion, and injustice.
"its decadent and decomposing for the line that needs to be followed as a nation."
Oh, you mean like starting wars, forcing innocent youth to fight in them, and stealing each others' money to fund them? You mean like racist mass genocide pursued for the purification of the "nation?"
How do you define exploitation? It's a violation of rights. True capitalism doesn't allow violations of rights. Therefor, you have no argument against capitalism.
Money is just a way of coordinating the system that you're talking about. If you understood the market, you'd realize that your ideas would create mass poverty.
You can't have healthcare, education, food, housing, etc., unless somebody does the work to produce them. These things don't just "exist," and therefor you're not just entitled to them. If nobody is rewarded for their work, what incentive do they have to work?
Take your head out of the sand. Learn some economics and some history. Communism has turned into tyranny every time it's been attempted. You're not using your head.
They wouldn't want to participate because it makes them feel like a worthless puppet on a string. After all, I've heard all your garbage and I don't agree with it, do I?
He is presenting solutions. Stop accumulating debt, stop inflating the currency, ride out the recession, and avoid the same mistakes in the future. Bitter medicine, to be sure, but the only realistic solution. Still, you're probably right about his election prospects. Which is why I place no faith in this government, or any state, for that matter.
He talks about solutions very shortly and needs serious work in presenting his solutions in a positive way. Just because we have serious problems doesn't mean there are no solutions or that we need to be totally pessimistic and negative, that won't help anything, people need hope or they give up, strong leaders know this.
I dunno. What's a positive way of saying "Well, we're basically broke, and we've got an even more severe recession in the future, and there's not really a whole hell of a lot we can do about it now except ride it out." I really am wondering, 'cause I'm really having trouble finding the sunshine angle.
Nothing like a little more nationalism to fix a few decades of unwarranted nationalism. America! Fuck Yeah! We are exceptional! Look at the monetary crises we created! Biggest one in history! Fuck Yeah!
Hitlers brought Germany out of recession because he borrowed money and quit paying reparations. We are not paying reparations and we've already borrowed up to the gills. There are two ways we get out of this crisis: start producing goods and paying off our debts or abandoning the dollar.
Peter is smart to focus on the economy like a laser. It's going to the overriding issue in 2010. Foreign policy and social issues(esp. in Connecticut) are going to be at the back of most voters' minds.
I was hoping Peter would get more on Domestic and forieng policy he's got the economic message down pat he needs to work on the other policy's more so because they will be harder to win people over with no 'free' money coming there way
Peter is a specialist. Obviously, his specialty is economics. As a senator, and even as a candidate, he will have to become much more of a generalist.
For your sake, I sure hope you are wrong because Peter is right. Your economic sky is falling. Your gov't is making all the same mistakes over and over again. I'm not much better off living in Canada mind you.
Our government is doing the same. Canada is better positioned for now but what happens when our loonie stays higher than the dollar. Mark Carney and Flarety are trying to devaule the loonie already. Fact is Canada relies on the united states what effects them effects us just as much
He was right that the recession should have happened in 2003, instead of falsely stimulating a housing boom, bubble and bust. But now, it's almost too late. The continued fallout just from housing is monsterous. Peter is dead right, but I'm not sure if Americans are up for the challenges ahead, because American's believe America is too big to fail. However, the wound is exposed, and our lender countries smell the blood. If I were a betting man, I think we're headed for WWIII......
Peter is a great Patriot, but there are too many men in power that don't want change. They are rich because of it.
Then we have masses that don't care, can't think, won't do. They're the ones I've see for years on interviews here and there, saying "Oh the govt. will do something" They are like children who won't/can't bother to deal with these problems. And I think they outnumber us.
You are correct in your notion that the clueless outnumber the enlightened, and I think for the most part throughout history they always do. However, we don't need a majority who are aware of the situation. 5-10% of the populace is enough to start a revolution. From what I have seen the past year people are opening their eyes at an exponential rate. As long as we do our share of spreading the word and waking people up we are doing our jobs. Our time will come and I think it will be soon.
I think Schiff has what it takes to get elected to the senate, and surely he would try his best to do the right thing. His heart is really in ending this banker scam. He wouldn't be the cure for this problem, but he would no doubt help the constitutional cause.
Good speech. Actually looked a bit nervous at the beginning there... Interested to see what sort of traction Peter gets in the wider community with this message.
By the way, you can see how sneaky the repugnican handlers are: first they tell Peter he has five minutes to make his speech, then they say he has 20, then they randomly interrupt his speech to tell him to wrap it up. His very first political speech and they're already trying to derail his train of thought, but you can't stop the truth! Peter will face more criticism than any other and we will see if the people of Connecticut will still support him. He's the only hope we've got.
The conclusion to Peter's magnificent campaign speech is here:
watch?v=egKBRO7t7lk
People are going to be blown away at his candor and forthright teleprompter-less fiery and passionate speeches. He is the litmus test to see if America will ever be ready for true Libertarian-Republican values.
i was about to type that but i second guessed myself... he certainly talks the talk and the real talk but can he also walk the real walk. i really wished i had people like peter in the great state of california.
peter is a great example he is what we all should strive to be, he is an american who took matters into his own hands for the benefit of his fellow americans.
more peter schiffs would make this world a better place!
although i would still like to see him walk the walk...

It's called trickle up poverty.
Bankingcartel 2 years ago
The Money , they stole from the people trough exploatation ... Im just getting them back ..
No one is making no one , we all do work together , because its the proper thing to do . Your thinking is decadent individualist thinking ... why dont you go in the forest , mine your own iron ore , coal , uyranium even , all buy yourself , and be your own country .. all buy yourself ... just dont call it freedom ...
because its pure reclessness ...
HK379 2 years ago
Well, you have it all wrong, when I go and work for someone they get something out of it and I get paid my money.
But when the government rapes 40% of my paycheck to hand out to someone else, then that my friend is called socialism and redistributing wealth.
It damn sure isn't called freedom, hence why I don't work, and don't plan on it.
You can be part of thier communist work force it you want, be my guest.
Bankingcartel 2 years ago
because you get paid money , you do nt do a good job ... because thats your goal , making money , not making a quality product or doing it to complete the goal ... the plan , etc ... you just whant your cash , thats ewhy your economy is in the shitter , people working so they can buy alchohol ... not because of the need to create and build ... thats your problem ...
HK379 2 years ago
lol, how do you get money? By providing a product people want. Duh.
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
No, when I worked I worked hard and did a good job, it's called competition, the better worker you are and more productive you are the more you make.
the economy is in the shitter because of SOCIALISM and rigged markets, not becuase of free markets.
Bankingcartel 2 years ago
Ok , let me tell you how things realy are ....
NO METTER how hard you work ...
There is a bunch of workers in China who would work harder than you , for fraction of your pay ....
now ... you in the west .. like to live with the ilusion , that you are so , because you work harder ... wich is complete falce ...
in reality there are people in the world who work so much harder than you , you look spoild in comperasin .
HK379 2 years ago
"because you get paid money , you do nt do a good job ... because thats your goal , making money , not making a quality product or doing it to complete the goal ... the plan , etc ..."
you won't make any money if you don't make a quality product. come on dude, this is the essence of capitalism.
callsen159 2 years ago
No , its quite the oposite , youll make more money if you make a crappy one ..
because besicaly every one competes of making the same thing but cheaper , that means with crappy materials , thats way quality dicreses ...
but they dont care if something brakes you are just going to buy again ... so that means more money for them ...
and products become incresingly crapier ...
they try to save on labour , buy producing over seas , but still crapiness catches up with it.
HK379 2 years ago
Some people will trade quality for price, others price for quality. It's up to each person to decide what's a better deal for them.
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
Hold on .. you sad "I dont work " ???
What kind of lazy burjoazy you are ???Socialist Work makes people healthier and is good for the state ... but you need helthcare for the people , so they can work better , for the ideals so they can be free to create and help out the state in building socialism...also education , so the proletariat can switch jobs ...if so needed or desired ...
HK379 2 years ago
Hey, if socialist work makes people healthier and is good for the State, then go right ahead and be my guess, but let me opt out of the socialism BS.
See that is the problem, socialist need other people for thier plans to work, free markets and freedom doesn't need anyone else to be forced into thier system for it to work.
Socialism can't work unless you force people against thier will to be a part of it.
Bankingcartel 2 years ago
Listen , everything around you is build buy colektive eford ....and is mentained by colektive eford ...
a single person can not build as much ...
and its portreid as a factor only in capitalist fary tales ...
There is no John Rambo`s in reality ...
and if there are some , they die quick ...
If you ever served in the Army , you would probably understand what im talking about .
HK379 2 years ago
That is not true, I have installed flooring in houses ALL by myself. It does not take a collective effort to have production, one single person can be productive.
The problem is, the State wants to rob 40% of my production. Another problem is, they have socialized the money.
I just want to be free and independent, from 1789 until 1913 thier was no income tax, except for a short time during the Civil War.
Let me opt out of all of the socialist bullshit I don't come crying to the State
Bankingcartel 2 years ago
Listen ...
Its not aways in the litteral sence ... to insatol hard wood floors for example , you need people with houses , who need hardwood floors ...
you didnt build all those houses you insolling floors to ... you know ...
Let me put it this way ...
If you want to be "free and independent "
IN THE SENCE YOU PUT IN THIS WORDS
the country as a whole would be week .
if every one did like you , there will be no country ...
and you might have foreighn colonization
HK379 2 years ago
Well, first off....my country was built on freedom and independence.
If you want to be a collective socialist, then be my guest, but don't force me to participate in it. That is all I ask.
Bankingcartel 2 years ago
You have no clue how a market works, do you?
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
"Listen , everything around you is build buy colektive eford ....and is mentained by colektive eford ..."
Collective effort based upon individual rights that maintain rational incentives--not your idea of collective effort.
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
Thats the problem ... that is not my idea of the efford ...
"Individual rights" - in a capitalist society , means the right to steal from the hard working ...
the right to be lazy ... and act like a boss...
or to cheat your way around the job ...
HK379 2 years ago
"in a capitalist society , means the right to steal from the hard working"
Um, no. It's not theft if it's a voluntary transaction you idiot. You seem to think that it's easy to run a business. Well, if it's so easy why don't you go do it and make a bunch of money instead of whining about it?
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
Your idea of the "efford" is involuntary servitude to benefit some at the expense of others. Mine is voluntary cooperation for the benefit of every individual involved. Mine is the creation of NEW wealth rather than the theft of existing wealth.
If you believe otherwise, you are a common criminal, plain and simple.
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
Hey dont tell me , what mine idea of "eford " is .. you dont know that ...
you are completly ronge .. eford is the masses desinding to have the freedom of being resposible and build a better world .. build a better country ..the proper way . for the benefit ofd all , not just some selected individuals like you propose ...
"creating welth "??? what printing fake money is not enough for you ... ??? you are insane .you are steealing not the workers . you are stealing from them .
HK379 2 years ago
Who are "the masses"? How do they make decisions?
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
the masses know whats the proper thing to do , and thats Marxism -leninism ...
we just folow those ideas strictly , and advance .
HK379 2 years ago
How do you make decisions as a "mass" of people?
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
well firs , every one have to read the communist manifesto .. by Marx .. than "das Capital " and they`ll know what needs to be done .
there should be Marxist Courses ...
in school , and Marxism should be a subject even in elementary school ...
HK379 2 years ago
In other words, you'll brainwash them and stifle all debate.
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
No .. its not brain washing , its just teling you the truth , and motivating you .. educating and explaining the reasons .. etc .
HK379 2 years ago
And what will you do to them if they DON'T?
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
if they still dont ill let them come to their sences ,...
thats alright ... but now if they start to interfere or get in the way of building socialism ...
doing sabotages etc ...
than they will be delt with acordingly .
HK379 2 years ago
So it's okay if they don't agree to be part of the socialist system? Really?
Well, good. That's what a free society is. And--guess what--you could start your communist society right here in the U.S. and no one would interfere as long as it was a voluntary association.
So I don't understand what your problem is.
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
If, on the other hand, you would use violence and coercion to establish and promote your society, then that is one of the few things that I would not hesitate to sacrifice my life to prevent.
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
Well , be my guest .
HK379 2 years ago
I already told you, printing money does not create wealth. I am in favor of abolishing central banks and fiat currencies altogether. You have no idea what money is or what wealth is. Learn some economics before you spout off.
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
You are the one who swhould do that ...
Im for abolishing banks too ... but i think we should ban curancy too , and trade in comodities , that will defeat capitalism ...but before that ..just having one big national one People`s bank is fine .for the time being until we get as far as banning money .
HK379 2 years ago
I don't want to abolish banks--I just want to abolish banks that have monopoly power over the economy (central banks). Capitalism is just trade. Money is just a medium of exchange between those trades that makes it easier. Money started as a commodity (gold). What's wrong with money?
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
???
well money is an exploatation tool ...
it should be baned ...
just like banks .
Buissness is a dirty word .
The proper word is Work ... Labour .
Buissness is some snicky cheating iligal crime , stealing ... exploiting etc.
HK379 2 years ago

Your assumption that I'm an anarchist is baseless. Government is needed because many people choose to do bad things. But forcing people to be charitable is slavery in a guise.
kasrkinmullet 2 years ago
We dont talk about "charity " here .... Charity is for rich people to feel god about themselves , and the money they stole from the people ...
We dont need that , as a metter of fact thats insulting to the worker .
what we need is government intiiatives like helthcare , and education, so we can be free to be responsible ...
and contribute more.
HK379 2 years ago
Of course it's charity. Charity isn't just for the rich, I donate 10% of my income to charity. And it goes to more than just healthcare. Healthcare would be much more affordable if it weren't for government subsidies.
kasrkinmullet 2 years ago
in reality the amount of money you make is dictated from forces out of your control ...
HK379 2 years ago
You mean like your inability to spell?
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
No , you got it compleatly ronge , Charity is individual eford that doesnt make any real change .. we talk about government intiotives here , policies ,,, real change ....
not just a way for the people to feel good about themselves buy donating ...
HK379 2 years ago
a.k.a. Taking from others instead of creating new value.
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
Creating value ??? you mean like printing money ...???
you are insane ...
HK379 2 years ago
No. Money is not value, and printing more money does not create more value. Money is only a measure of value. Value is created whenever something new is made that fulfills the needs and desires of human beings.
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
You dont even know what you are talking about ...
Im talking about production ... for that we need colektive eford , proletariat mobilization , just like in the army ...
yopu are talking about how you`ve biin niting sweaters ....
HK379 2 years ago
You can be socialist in an individualist country if you want--you just can't force someone else to do the same. And when you can't force people, socialism falls apart.
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
There is no such thing as "individualist country " countries are big congregations of people ...
they are communities ...
not individuals ....
now people should be prevented from being recless ...thats not forcing ...
thats showing you the proper way .. giving you the initiotive ...
HK379 2 years ago
And in a society of equals, who should have the authority to to "prevent you from being reckless?"
"Showing you the proper way" is fine--forcing you into the "proper" way and throwing you in jail if you don't follow it is not.
Countries are big congregations of individuals, correct. An individualist country is simply one that respects that fact.
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
The rest of the people will prevent you from being recless ...
Well yeah if you are a criminal will trow you in jail deamn right .
What do you think ?
There is no idividualist country ...
Individualism is the oposite of comunity ...
its decadent and decomposing for the line that needs to be folowed as a nation .
HK379 2 years ago
"The rest of the people will prevent you from being recless"
Which "people?" How? In an equal society, what makes your beliefs and values more valid than mine? By what authority can you control me, if I cannot do the same to you?
You are a pathetic advocate of tyranny, coercion, and injustice.
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
"its decadent and decomposing for the line that needs to be followed as a nation."
Oh, you mean like starting wars, forcing innocent youth to fight in them, and stealing each others' money to fund them? You mean like racist mass genocide pursued for the purification of the "nation?"
THAT is what your philosophy will lead to.
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
Bullcrap ... no , I mean Building , Production ...
Steel Production , Work ...
Not alot of money , but government provided helth care , government provided education ...
Well there is probably going to be wars .. but we cant have piece for capitalists and fashists .... no pice for them ..
if they come to mess with our socialist country
we`ll give them a good leson ...
The ,mighty hande of the people will smash them with its iron fist of Labour , and balistic misals.
HK379 2 years ago
Fascists are collectivists. You and they are one and the same.
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
How do you define exploitation? It's a violation of rights. True capitalism doesn't allow violations of rights. Therefor, you have no argument against capitalism.
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
Money is just a way of coordinating the system that you're talking about. If you understood the market, you'd realize that your ideas would create mass poverty.
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
no its not poverty , as long as you have , helthcare , education , a job , and a place to sleep .. you`ll be fine ...
its could fighting capitalism ...
its the proper way . we need to build socialism ..and eventually communism .
HK379 2 years ago
You can't have healthcare, education, food, housing, etc., unless somebody does the work to produce them. These things don't just "exist," and therefor you're not just entitled to them. If nobody is rewarded for their work, what incentive do they have to work?
Take your head out of the sand. Learn some economics and some history. Communism has turned into tyranny every time it's been attempted. You're not using your head.
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
well thats way we all work ... we dont sit at home ... and make this stuff posible ...
we need mass mobiolisation of the masses ...
to create and advance ...
we use what we produce ...
thats the hole point .
the more we produce .. the better we live .
Communism is true freedom , the freedom to be responsible .
not recless hippie like you ..
you know you should be more patriotic and suport your government . suport the building of socialism ...
HK379 2 years ago
And what do you do to someone who doesn't "mobilize" the way you want them to?
PorpoiseMuffins 2 years ago
Well we educate them .. abd explain why we need to do what we need to do ...
And once they understand , why would they not whant to perticipate ?
After all is going to build your country , is going to be good for you , and for the nation .,..
HK379 2 years ago

He is presenting solutions. Stop accumulating debt, stop inflating the currency, ride out the recession, and avoid the same mistakes in the future. Bitter medicine, to be sure, but the only realistic solution. Still, you're probably right about his election prospects. Which is why I place no faith in this government, or any state, for that matter.
nonantianarchist 2 years ago
He talks about solutions very shortly and needs serious work in presenting his solutions in a positive way. Just because we have serious problems doesn't mean there are no solutions or that we need to be totally pessimistic and negative, that won't help anything, people need hope or they give up, strong leaders know this.
guest062888 2 years ago
I dunno. What's a positive way of saying "Well, we're basically broke, and we've got an even more severe recession in the future, and there's not really a whole hell of a lot we can do about it now except ride it out." I really am wondering, 'cause I'm really having trouble finding the sunshine angle.
nonantianarchist 2 years ago

But THIS time they're right! I mean, they can't be wrong three times in a row, can they? I mean, Mike Norman can't be that stupid...oh, wait.
nonantianarchist 2 years ago 2
He was right that the recession should have happened in 2003, instead of falsely stimulating a housing boom, bubble and bust. But now, it's almost too late. The continued fallout just from housing is monsterous. Peter is dead right, but I'm not sure if Americans are up for the challenges ahead, because American's believe America is too big to fail. However, the wound is exposed, and our lender countries smell the blood. If I were a betting man, I think we're headed for WWIII......

Your most interesting thought - Cannot fix healthcare if you don't fix the government
Turbo291 2 years ago
Peter is a great Patriot, but there are too many men in power that don't want change. They are rich because of it.
Then we have masses that don't care, can't think, won't do. They're the ones I've see for years on interviews here and there, saying "Oh the govt. will do something" They are like children who won't/can't bother to deal with these problems. And I think they outnumber us.
Whuntmore 2 years ago
You are correct in your notion that the clueless outnumber the enlightened, and I think for the most part throughout history they always do. However, we don't need a majority who are aware of the situation. 5-10% of the populace is enough to start a revolution. From what I have seen the past year people are opening their eyes at an exponential rate. As long as we do our share of spreading the word and waking people up we are doing our jobs. Our time will come and I think it will be soon.
