haters gonna hate. At least this Game works without soooo many annoying bugs like the newest worms. Im pissed that i payed for worms reloaded when i can have a good free version. I really like Hedgewars and it is a shame, that peoples start crying because it's looking simelar to worms.

There are 1000s of strategy-games which all work the same way (build base/build troops/rush) but nobody is criying about them and they are not even free.

Appearently, at least the wind meter is no longer ripped from Worms. ;-)

And hey, on the plus side this runs pretty stable contrary to all recent 2D Worms on a Win7 PC (you must kill explorer UI+wallpaper slideshow to play Armageddon without graphical glitches and Reloaded is still buggy as shit, despite several updates). And most of all, it implements some weapons I'd really wish to see in Worms.

This game is amazing, it is the only "rip-off" kind of game that actually grew more mature than its commercial preceptor. Better balance, new awesome weapons (drill !!!), improved rope. The art is of very high quality and the trailer is far better than most commercial game trailers I have ever seen, too!

Dang, this looks a lot more like Worms than Worumux. To be honest, I never played the original Worms series and just Wormux as a taste of what Worms was. But this looks like a perfect clone. Though, it would have to compete with the recent official Worms Reloaded with brand new spanking features.

Im just happy they finally have a free game that works on Mac, now even if this is "a rip off of worm" which you guys said like 10 million times in the comments, its still very well made and fun. The watermelon exploding at 1:14 - 1:20 is banana from Worms under different texture and there are many other weapons from Worms but under different textures. Even in choosing weapon from menu airstrike and mines looks the same as in the worms and are in the same place LOL! It looks like just a MOD for Worms. (!not a game created from scratch!)

@lukas90lca If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I'm sorry you feel that we have deliberately set out to rip off Worms, but really for the developers this is the turn-based artillery game THEY wanted to play. The fact that they are constantly able to add new weapons and content is a testament to that.

At the end of the day, it's all free, so nobody's stopping you from going back and playing Worms if you really want to, I just think you're missing out. :)

@Armagon It lets us Mac converts have our Worms fix back. And its great. If Team 17 cared, there would have been new versions in the last 10 years. And they would have not given the middle finger to anyone who wasn't using Windows. The pissers and moaners can try to get WWP to run under Wine, and when that fails they can know why we are glad to have Hedgewar.

Going with your path of thinking Call of Duty 4 is a mod of Wolfenstein because it have pistol.

Call of Duty 4 is not a mod of Wolfenstein, because it have many different original content(example: hud,life), and AI is different, weapons act differently, you can modify weapon in COD4, you got kind of skills too. My point in previous post was that there was too many content from worms that was acting the same and not many original content. Pozdrawiam ;]

You can also write own content for this game such as missions in lua and hats etc. You can do everything with the source. It would be hard to have Worms-esque game without basic and classic weapons. However it has own ideas such as portal gun, sine gun, proximity mines which will be introduced in 0.9.14. It's not a ripoff for god's sake. You can see the progress by downloading older releases such as 0.9.2 before the graphic artist joined our project. Miłego dnia życzę ;)

@lukas90lca You know, if something looks and behaves like something else, it doesn't mean they ripped off the code and graphics. Most of ideas and weapons were really taken from Worms series, but the source code is definitely written, and graphics drawn, from scratch. You can call Hedgewars a "clone" of Worms if you want, but no code/graphics were taken, the same way SuperTux is a clone of Super Mario games and OpenSonic is... a rip-off for now, but they are working of original art/music/chars.

Where exactly do you get the other graphics like the little air lines on the explosions, or the 3D water? If you don't know what I mean, I mean the water that moves up as someone falls in the first scene, as well as at 0:48 when a barrel explodes, it makes a line. It's not straight but it's a graphic that isn't in my game. Is it because I have Linux?
