  • We got the bells that like go bunggg Lollll

  • You guys see how stoned were he when he was talking, but when they started playing - the music get him.

  • @Link113322 nah, hes just nervous

  • i saw them live some days ago. they were stoned as fuck, but the show was sooo great!!

  • 6 people must be from Jersey

  • it is funny when knobs make fun of each other on you tube comment.

  • He is a not god (at least not literaly) so ofc he is a bit nervous... give him a break, this is so fucking awesome! :)

  • Just such a good band.

  • cool, den heirate ich übrigends später mal :)

  • live die jersey!!!!!!

  • First time they played this live I believe. Brian is like a giddy child on christmas. That guy is such an inspiration to me. He puts so much soul and energy into the music and I don't know, it just lets you know he actually cares about what he's doing, y'know?

  • kinda sick of this band, whenever they play at my city they're at 19+ clubs only, and me and my buds cant go out to see 'em,

  • @danogolden Then just wait a few years man. It's worth the wait.

  • Great band,Great album,Sound great live

  • Comment removed

  • this is great, awesome band, have come a long way and will continue to do so. I truly dislike when someone says a band will sellout, they make great music, I hope as many ppl listen to them as they can........while they make some bucks on the way so shoe shinning es out of the picture

  • I know I'm gonna sound like a selfish dick, but I really preferred them back then, playing small clubs and shows where you felt as if you were a part of some something truly special which was only shared between you, a few other buddies, and the band. I was always against people saying this sort of thing and for supporting the bands success, but I can't help it.

  • @museman15 I know what you mean. The drummer and bassist from Biffy Clyro used to live round the corner from where I stay in Kilmarnock, Scotland. They played loads of local gigs and lots of the time I knew everyone that was there!! Now they're said to be one of the UK's best rock bands! I don't blame them though, they're amazing and now they make a living out of doing what they enjoy so fair enough.

  • @museman15 SHUT UP! They are still playing small venues...

  • cool

  • cant wait for the second album in april!

  • @thejackfrankhamshow

it's actually going to be their 3rd album. sink or swim is their first (my favourite)

  • Where was this show??

  • They're much tighter now. Brian sounds way better especially

  • Awesome guys... hope the success doesn't get to their head for the second LP.

  • 59 sound is their second LP.

  • love his introduction :)

  • perfect

  • Awesome song!

  • the last time music made me feel so good was in the 5th grade. im going on 30 now...

g's guns n roses and gaslight anthem and my amazing looking wife to be is genevieve.

  • Such a charismatic frontman.

  • which knitting factory? New york or la?

  • lol do you really have to ask? haha he mentions LA a bunch in the intro

  • jijijijiji

  • it's got gospel singers on it :-O!!

  • I saw GLA at the MySpace Secret Show in Gainesville Florida. They were awesome, this is a good song but an aweful mix.

  • class act

    5 stars

  • phenominal band! you should all check out Lucero rebel rogues and sworn brothers cos you'll love it too

  • RIP Norm Knight

  • Amazing tattoos ;)

  • He looks like Rick Schroeder! ha!

  • ja ist schon ne tolle band..

  • they are always drunk on stage

  • they're really not

  • have u seen them live?

they are drinking between every song

  • lol, yes i have. and they probs do. but not enough to really get drunk, and its not always either

  • I almost cry everytime I think about this song with the boss. Falling in love with this band...

  • wow. that's a pretty gay comment you gave there. pussy

  • Okay, so you have a problem with your sexuality. You sit at home, find people who make comments about what they think and judge them for no particular reason. You just made a right fool of yourself.

  • PS. I seen them at Oxegen last week, snag every last word and cried my eyes out.

  • Haha ok, I'm comfortable with my sexuality. Have a nice life. No offence intended

  • I like guys.

  • Bruce springsteen came and sang this song with them at glastonbury. Good tune.

  • Is there a version of that floating around anywhere?

  • this is one of those songs (and bands) that you cant really criticize. you may not like their music, but there isn't much negative that can be said about it, especially the studio recordings. personally, i love it.

  • he seemed so nervous

  • @bubbatannous

he's human asshole. You pathetic fuck.

  • @bubbatannous

and anyone who "thumbs" this is just as insecure. Come to NJ and say this.

  • @ForDoverUSA how do i know that YOU didn't thumbs up my comment, and write this comment so no one will know you're true identity batman?

  • @bubbatannous

wow. thank you. i thought i had issues. Come to NJ and say that, better, go to Ground Zero and say that. Batman.

  • @ForDoverUSA PS. crawl back into the Holland tunnel, and flush yourself back to New Jersey, the state of tacky casinos, velour pant suits, and gold chains....oh and batman impersonators.

  • @bubbatannous

You're a little coward like everyone else. If you don't like these guys, why you commenting on any of this? Because your shitty band never made it? I'm so sorry. Loser.

  • @ForDoverUSA I actually really enjoy the music they make, and their preformances, o just made a comment that he seemed nervous you neurotic asswipe. You just freaked out on me...relax and breathe a lil'....

and really? a Ground Zero comment? you're not even a real New Yorker.

  • @bubbatannous

You're right, why don't we grab a brew and chill? This is stupid shit.

  • genuine.

  • My gosh that sounds amazing live, I saw them in Albuquerque last week! It was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They're coming back in September, YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hehe I asked Brian if he'd adopt me!

  • I LOVE how they were so proud of the recored they were putting out at the the time.

I, for one, believe in it so much more because they do.

  • I love this band.

  • He sounds semi-wasted.

  • lol, he doesn't drink.

  • he seemed a bit nervous/excited is all. I get that way in front of people lol

  • when he talks, he reminds me of a young springsteen

  • I love how emotional the singer gets in this...

  • my favourite part about youtube arguments is watching the combatant's grammar get more and more proper as they search for things to discredit each other with. it's bloody hilarious the things people will do out of desperation; can't bash eachother's looks or nothing so they go for the grammar. i love youtube and all the stupid people watching it

  • haha, i was thinking the exact same before... its always "I'm obviously smarter than you since I can use punctuation and spell correctly, thefore you are stupid and inferior to me, thus making your arguement irrellevant. I'm too smart for this, so this is my final word."

    XD

  • Hahaha, I really like this.

  • totally hilarious, you see it on every board where folks are getting progressivly more hostile.

  • @MorganSchmidt

    Learn to capitalize properly, asshole.

  • @MorganSchmidt

gotta love a good old fashioned semicolon.

  • @MorganSchmidt

Yeah I think sometimes there is the need to say something on youtube about a certain thing. But some people don´t have the guts to get in a constructive argument with each other in real life so they write nonsense on youtube because they´re save and nobody can harm them no matter what bullshit they´re writing

  • @MorganSchmidt *I =P

  • @MorganSchmidt i favorite your comment even be4 reading the whole comment =)

  • anyone know what this song is about

  • The narrator's friend got into a car accident and died.

  • Its about when he read in the newspaper that one of the kids he grew up with died

  • my favorite band

i just recently got there signatures on my ticket

    they are sooo sweet too

  • Comment removed

  • silly arguement the band sounded awesome

plus when u are that close to stage drums overpower all unless you are filming close to a monitor then u dont get overpowered

  • whats with all the arguing? just enjoy the music, these guys rock!

  • Are you fucking retarded?

Here's a hint retard: YES. Yeah, he was loud here, but that's not his fault, it's the shitty sound guy's.

  • Comment removed

  • True maybe i used wrong word's but he should really change his style while someone f.uck it up, TGA could play Drumms from CD and it would be same effect. He as musician should realise that something with sound is wrong and change it, he tottaly screwed this show, And yes i know that playing live is much harder, but playing all the time in same way like bot wont make him better and it wont make concert better. So anyway he screwed it up :-)

  • The sound at the front of the venue is waaaay different than the sound from his perspective. I'm sure that it sounded fine from his monitors. There is literally no way he could know that he is too loud. That is why there is a sound guy...too bad it's a shitty one. They adjust the levels, not the musician.

Plus, it is a youtube video. For all we know it sounded perfect that night, and the audio on the video is picking up the drums more.

    Keep posting retarded stuff, retard.

  • And again you put evrything on SOUND GUY, you dont get that he should just play less louder, but hey mr.Retarted now it is SOUNDGUY+QUALITY OF VIDEO. Stop telling all the time same crap, the fact is that he should just play less louder, he is not vocalist wich depend 100% from Sound Guy.

And btw, even if they setted evrything before etc, and it sounded great, when drummer started to hit like monkey, hardest he can, sound guy (technican) couldnt do anything with that :*

    See u YouTubeNoLifer

  • Comment removed

  • There is no way he could know to play "less louder" based on where he is in the venue.

You say the singer's sound depends on the sound guy, right? That is because he is singing into a mic, and the volume of which is controlled by the sound guy, right? Look at the drums, they are mic'd as well. It is the same thing. His volume is determined by the soundguy as well.

But whatever, it's cool that you don't know shit about music. Keep playing Warcraft in your mother's basement, faggot.

  • Seriously, Kamper, give it up. You clearly know nothing about a live setup and you're just making a fool of yourself. What the drummer hears is whatever is coming out of his monitors. His monitors could be mixed beautifully and the sound could be horrendous in the house and he would never know. It really is all on the sound guy. When the sound guy heard the drums overpowering, he should have turned it down immediately. It's not the drummer's fault whatsoever.

  • umm i feel a bit late on this arguement but i wanna make two points

    a. ive been a sound engineer for a few years now and i just wanna say, its the sounds guys fault. that's just all there is to it, no arguing.

    2. its a concert if it wasn't loud it wouldn't be rocknroll

  • You have no fucking idea what you are talking about. You have obviously never played on a stage before. Maybe you've played for 20 people, in front of your 6th grade class but when you're on a larger stage, behind the drums you have no idea what is going on with sound in front of the stage. Furthermore, that guitar amp could be screaming on stage but totally quiet in the audience... why do I even bother to reply to this? You are obviously beyond completely fucking retarded.

  • ok, guys, this was recorded fromt the sounddesk.

The levels on this are completely seperate from the levels that would have been used during the gig. When you record a gig live like this, all the mic levels go into protools, and they go untouched, then its mixed, it doesnt matter how loud the drums are on stage , the dude mixing this could have turned it up, so its whoever did this mix for the video in post production, that made the drums too loud etc

  • i think the issue is he just got the recording straight from the board with the mix they were using at the show. while it sounds OK in the audience, they usually turn up the drums and vocals on the board. i do alot of this and it's a common problem i have :( i usually just got with audience audio unless it's a big venue, then everything is usually mixed right

  • Ein "Muss" auf dem Southside....

  • one of the best songs i've ever listened to . gives me gooseflesh and tears in my eyes every time i'm listen to it. it's so intense ! the same with both albums and the ep! support them they deserve it so much ...

  • wow

  • i will always have this album in my hearty wherever i go.

    fantastic.

  • I wasn't even aware that we were due a Gin Blossoms revival but I'm delighted its here.

  • Had that song on my pod for like 4 months but the Letterman performance last night kicked up it a notch. Checked their concert listings on their website and bought tickets for the march 17th show in Montreal. They're Fuckin' dope live.

  • I never watch Letterman....popped it on for second when I couldn't fall asleep because I'm sick. They were just coming on and 10 seconds in....what the hell is this? Anyone miss 1995? This band...theres something different here....like, they're restoring my "faith in rock" this morning. They make me feel like I felt in the 90s. But they're not a 90s band. Praise god, things are getting better. No offense if anyone actually likes...lets say, Death Cab for Cutie, but....change. This.

  • I couldn't have put it better myself

  • they were on Letterman last nite and the live performance was PHENOMENAL !!

  • It was absolutely brilliant. I would pay my money to hear them play.

  • I can't explain why but i just want to move when i hear this song

  • great performance

  • knitting factory omg i did that shit

  • Every once in awhile a band comes along whose music makes you feel a little bit more alive, a little bit more happy. This is one of those bands. Truly brilliant song.

  • I couldn't explain that feeling better, its the same when I hear Bruce, more alive

  • Exactly.

  • the gaslight anthem is amazing. so is whitechapel

  • 3RD FEBURARY <3

This song just fills me with happiness.

  • OhMyGosh

i'm going to see them in exactly 29 days in brighton and i can't wait :)

    they are amazing.

that's the only word that works and even thats not big enough.

  • since 2005 I believe, if you like them you should check out polar bear club. not really much alike but most people that like the gaslight anthem like polar bear club, they too are just starting to get big. my band has a show with them this month and I can't wait

  • Oh God this is so good!

  • I love GLA! I hope some day I'll see them live.

  • I only heard GLA for the 1st time 2 days ago..

    I gotta say, they're Awesome!

Does anyone know if i can get them?

    I live in Australia.

  • you can find there disc in any major record store.

  • god gaslight anthem kicks so much ass

  • I like Rise Against and The Gaslight Anthem.

  • How is caring for other thing's besides your self bull shit? i think it's one of the most selfless things you can do in life. An you sir are bull shit. that's do you antipunkdude

    great band

  • Conan tonight!

    Gaslight Anthem WILL perform!

  • Sounds like Paul Westerberg when he rocked

  • Awesome, wheres your hat??

  • Just Seen Them In Glasgow Tonight Fucking Awesome Band Hope They Come Back Again

  • These guys are so awesome. I saw them for the first time about three weeks ago... I originally went to see Alkaline Trio and Rise Against but I was so glad when I heard these guys =)

  • I saw them on that tour too. These guys rule. That was the best show I have even been to.

  • Absolutely right... I am so beyond happy that I went to that show =)

  • Guys sound pretty damn good live.

  • wow drums loud.

  • To anyone who has seen them live recently - what is there setlist like? I don't mean exactly, but how many songs are they playing from The 59 Sound, how many from Sink or Swim and how many from their EP? Thanks.

    Loooooove this band!

  • amazing.

  • great melody, great lyrics, great song.

  • Such an amazing album. The last song "Once Upon a Time" is a great, great song...a song that when you listen to the words you realize the depth of the music. I look forward to seeing them live.

  • they should be proud. the 59 sound is truly an amazing album. one that i picked up on my last year of college and one that i will remember forever.

  • whats this dude talking about? people in jersey love this band.

  • That 'speech' will be remembered, so will this record.

  • are they serious that they were shining shoes to make this record? or is that just some way to say that they worked their ass off to make it? one of the best bands to come up in my lifetime!!!!

  • i will be on their gig in cologne, germany...

  • They sound fine on this, but they were not that great tonight with Rise Against.

  • TRUE THAT!!! thrice and alkaline trio were pretty good tho

  • OMG Im going to see that show Sunday!!!!!!! Im about to EXPLODE since its my first concert, and it has Rise Against, Thrice, and Alkaline Trio in it!!! Never heard of Gaslight Anthem, but they sound pretty good! xD

  • OMFG

i saw them in cleveland!!! :DDDDDD

    i was freaking outtt XD

    :D

    you'll love it

    it was amazing! :]]]

  • What was the line-up?

  • idk but gaslight anthem completely owned in orlando a couple nights ago. possibly one of the best lineups i ever saw.

  • What was the line-up?

  • as a Rise Against fan, you can shut the fuck up. Fucking pop punk kids acting like they know shit about music. I swear I think I'm one of last few people that knew Gaslight Anthem before they toured with shitty musicians.

  • Rise Against hasn't been good since 'siren song,' i hate most pop punk nowadays too but its funny you call yourself 'antifascistpunk' AND a rise against fan when there is nothing punk about them. every album they get more and more mainstream.

  • I was referring to him being a Rise Against fan. Pseudo-Anarcho PETA bullshit. The best thing about GLA is they don't fall into any of that pre packed punk rock shit. They actually make REAL music. Unfortunately they seem to be playing shows with shitty bands. Alkaline Trio and Rise Against should be opening for Gaslight Anthem.

  • ahhhh well in that case i concur. GLA are the best out of those three and RA and new Alk trio are waaay too 'pre-packaged for your 13 yr old sister who loves hot topic.'

  • Rise Against = Pseudo-Anarcho PETA?

  • wow congratulations

  • hahha dude i like how he makes the crowd feel comfortable like thier friends already

    most bands sound better live

gaslight anthem is one of them

also the one guy in the background screaming "DO IT" funny hahahha

  • they really seem like such cool guys to hang out with!

  • Well, these guys made a fan outta me this morning. They're the seckz!!!1

  • im seeing them, American Steel, and the Polar Bear Club, on the 18th. IM PUMPED. it will be sex

  • yea im seein them in baltimore on oct. 12 with rise against and alkaline trio

its gonna be a great show

i just looked these guys up so i would at least kinda know the opening bands and these guys are really good

  • does anybody know what this song is about? from what i can gather it sounds like its about someone dying but i dno what that has to do with the 59 sound? can anybody help me out?

  • to me its about a person who talking to a loved one in a grave about when they passed away and he's asking the that person if they heard the music of 1959 from an old radio when they died or if they heard a gospel choir etc.

  • these guys are pretty sweet, touring with rise against and alkaline trio this year maybe i'll see em'

  • he shouldn't scream that much, he's getting out of tune. awesome video!

  • You're right, forget injecting a little passion into your music - just do it like the CD.

  • haha, being sarcasting doesn't help anyone here. he is passionate enough even without giving too much. i think he's just a little too motivated, that's all. it doesn't need to sound exactly like on CD but it should nonetheless sound good don't you think? and here it's, well a little too much.

  • wow they r good live

  • i think this sounds better than the CD version. the emotion separates it.
