Well on December 27th according to UFO Spot, someone saw some red lights after midnight. That might be similar to what you saw.

it was a LINE of red light not a refection band. OH and that was left of the moon bye the way

It's known as a Moon dog.

The reason the moon was blurry was because of the ice crystals in the air. It also caused a refraction of the moon's light at 22 degrees.

this light is real me and a friend were walkng down stonyplain road that night on the west end of edmonton by process of elimination it cant be a light from the ground take notice of the clouds if it was a spot light the clouds would have ben light up also it was pulsating and within a few mins it was completly gone

That is light from a street light reflecting off of ice crystals in the air I see it all the time in winter when the temperature is just right, sometimes there will be many lights reflecting light usually white or the sodium orange you see here depends on the source.

It should be there every night if it's Venus or Jupiter, this season. Sundogs only happen when the sun is up or setting. Venus and Jupiter do sparkle and change color to the naked eye.In any case alot of weird things are happening on the earth and in the sky

i live in wisconsin and i dont sleep well at night and i went outside around midnight or so and it was so dark i couldnt see anything at all. i watched a movie and came back out at 2:05 am and there is a redness in the sky that lights up everything not a single light but like the entire sky and i could see my neighbors trees and things in there yard as if it was daylight anyone have any views on what this could be thanks

yup, i saw this too. watched it for about 10-15 or so minutes after leaving the movie theatre in south edmonton common. drove around for a while to get a better view. definitely nothing to do with "rigs" or "fog" or "light pollution" whatsoever. it was creepy. then it just suddenly flashed and disappeared.

well its not a sundog its a vertical light, not horizontal. moon was to the right, so there was not other light to be reflected,besides the light didnt reach the ground, how many sundogs has any one seen that has a red pulsating light?? not just one light but two? but nice to seen that" the same light" has been seen by many.... sundogs dont happen at 11:11pm in canada its pitch blackout at that time..... it was E.T. doing a long distant phone call..lol

I've seen this alot. The ones I've seen usually come from rig sights that have really bright lights and I noticed it usually occurs on very cold nights where the air is kindda foggy. Why it seems to 'pulse'? I have no idea..same reason as stars twinkle I guess!

ya had to be here it was way brighter then the moon and the camera did not film what ya cold see with the eye. pure bright fire red at times. the moon was covered in cloud and the whole city could see it, this is down graded to fit on here. i am use to shoting still shots using a nikon d200 dont do video to much. just a witness man iam not the only one that saw it .smile till the next event.

I saw something like that in Toronto ontario, over lake ontario. I was on the 19th floor of my apartment and 2 bright shining lights gold/ bronze in colour were moving around in sync with one another. I would like to verify this occurance. I live on the south side of edmonton. my wife and i saw this. This was no sundog, this was no airplane or helocopter. This was exactly what u see in this video. It could have came from the ground or from space due to the Verticle nature It could be HAARP it could be a false flag operation. This really happened.we saw it. we are concerned. a few days later the big noise came along. What is going on.

What direction were you facing when you recorded this?

Because I saw an abnormally bright point of light in the sky while I was in calgary when looking up to the southwest.

At first I thought it was a spotlight from a police helicopter it was so bright, and the sky was thick with clouds from the incoming snow.

After it didn't move for an hour or so I didn't know what to think.

ya bin looking at the light pillar stuff looks very close but most of the pic i saw were light going up from ground to sky and bluring around the spike and this wasnt. it seamed to have it's own light right in the middle and was shinning out from that paulsating, My first thought when filming it was it might be a red spot light, thats wy i turned it to 1/8 shutter speed it would have showen the light comming from the ground even if it was very week. i dont know but it was cool.
