@jcdarlynn Cause they don't play over produced pop country and they don't look like pop stars either. They're raw and unfortunately that doesn't attract much stardom.
Shovels, rope, wood, steel, some beer, a couple dogs, a nice spot in the lowcountry to hang out, and a married couple with an insane amount of talent. South Carolina music doesn't begin and end with Hootie and the Blowfish.
I haven't heard anything like this, ever, I think. It's just a perfect combination of country, dirty, deeply, passionated. Real, pure. Simple yet complex in detail for the keen observer. Truely, and I mean it, breathtaking. I'm speechless as to what to say.
@MrFishAssasin they are not good......they are great!!! One of my favorite bands. Fabulous live. Catch 'em if they come to your town for sure. Lucky/proud parent you are!

A few weeks ago I saw Shovel & Rope open for BJ Barham and they were so good that I thought it was a fluke, a once in a life time performance...
...then I saw them play a few weeks later with American Aquarium and they were even better!
