  • "...Far too many artists go largely unnoticed..."???? Surely not an accusation that could be levelled against, and indeed this song, The Jam?

I suggest less of the pat backing and perhaps slightly more obscure songs?

  • superbe ... une des plus belles chansons de ce groupe, légendaire d'une époque

  • This song has so many memories for me .... namely it's the song I connect to my father with who has ignored me since my parents split in 1982 .... Weller is a god !!

  • All Mod Cons = Best Album Ever.......!!!!!

  • colin zeal|!|!!|

  • @cantonadenmark its called evolution mate, dont be a hater. just love mr weller for all the great stuff he's given to us ;-)

  • Always loved The Jam, i'm old enough to remember them and to be there to buy there records ( i had to queue outside my local woolies one morning to buy recored, got my much younger sister into them and i'm glad to say my 11 year old daughter loves them to. Life From a Window is a class tune.

  • Petehuskins..I agree...this song is the work of a true genius..how on earth did he turn into style council overnight??...Weller is a hero of mine and a genius but how he wasted 10 years doing utter garbage is beyond belief...luckily he has found his way again

  • @cantonadenmark

agree totally, ghosts is another genius tune

  • A few of us in the states were really into these guys, even if some of the lyrics were U.K.-oriented, we got the jist and the feeling....working class is working class.

  • did paul weller have a head injury in 1985?? how could someone that wrote the jam classics turn into such a cunt!!??

  • @petehuskins If he did the same thing all the time, he'd get bored, or we would, so it just goes to show theres no pleasing some people, i like to call those people pricks

  • Weller wrote many of these songs before he was 21 years old... Flash bastard! - This album is my fave Jam album. Every song's a cracker!!

  • loved the jam never did get the style council

  • To me, Style Council was some kind of proto-metro-sexual experiment that gave us a glimpse of the future...hated it and still do.

  • @peppersdog1 I got both bands

    open-mindness is the key

  • @peppersdog1 nor did I they really sucked actually

  • @peppersdog1 THANK YOU .!

out of some sort of loyalty i own two style council records and have listened to lik e5 minutes worth between them ( ok .. well "my ever changng moods" IS a good song and i may have listened to it more than once, but other than that ,, ) but i have a ton of jam records and they never ever dissapoint

  • @PHAEDRIDER Spot on mate!

  • Comment removed

  • @peppersdog1 why weller shacked up with that twat from the lambretta`s i`ll never know.he tamed weller we did`nt hear paul doing what he do`s best that raw classic sound.i was made up when he got back to his roots and brought out wild wood and stanley road

  • @smithdvr

    You mean The Merton Parkas

  • @peppersdog1 the lambrettas were better than the style council also. /watch?v=01DlzMUM5ck

  • my bro used 2 get up at 7 everymornin b4 school 2 listen 2 the jam 4 an hour, grrrrr...lol! love it now tho!...this is a classic!

  • the jam are awesome!!!!!!!

  • saw them play this at the rainbow in 79

  • Best of The Jam

  • thanks. i needed this

  • ia m 41 ,born 68 , i was 14 when my parents split up and so did the jam . I am inspired by young people who were not even born , this is rebelious stuff , young people do nt be told get out and be a rebel . If you dont rebel young your gonna be a fekked up straight adult , like mr clean .

  • I've grown up listening to weller since i was 8 (1978), the guy is a genius!

  • if I get the chance I'll FUCK UP YOUR LIFE!

  • im 16, i wish i was alive back then, wellers my idol!, he's so awesome, all of the jams songs are sang and played with so much emotion, its amazing!

  • wot u onna bout r.i.p bruce foxton?, he's stil alive mate

  • Sorry for my BIG mistake. I mean't John Weller Pauls father.

  • appolagy excepted

  • Greatest Band of all time

  • Class the only word for it.

  • Paul Weller said, "Mod is clean living under difficult circumstances", and here he clarifies the difference between clean and "clean". And Weller even voted the Tories in ´78, and still he was right.

  • pure class sounds as good today as it did in the 80s

  • thanks - my old record was just bout finished when i found this.

  • You know youre old when you can remember stuff like this right here.

  • No you know you're young when you still listen to this!!

    Good music never gets old!!

  • Great!
