The way you break through that and are always smiling and comedic in your videos is a great idol to people who get depression as well, so all our Youtubers thank you for that! I'm not an expert on Insomnia, only ever had a "mild" case of it over the holidays (I think I was just bored). But I find listening to audio books/the radio on a timer helps. Takes your mind off things. Try it if you haven't already! :) x

@Cookieandcreame51 The best thing to do is tell someone. Anyone you really, really trust. It can be scary, but dealing with it all alone can be even scarrier. It feels much better when you have someone there to support you, no matter what. And seeing a doctor about skin picking may also be wise, to make sure nothing gets infected.
Boofle does count, seriously. Looks like I've developed dermatillomania now too. Hopefully it's not as permanent as trich seems to be. Keep being yourself and you'll be fine.
by looking at a few comments and watching your videos i can tell your an inspiration carry on with what you do your amazing and beautiful inside and out. people are jealous/insecure/immature but your strong and that is very inspiring, your a idol, a inspiration don't let silly cowardly people attack you keep your head high :)
i didn't know Dermatillomania was a real thing.. i suffer from this and i'm trying to fight it, but just like you i find it very hard, and "help" from others doesn't really work.. I thought i couln't be the only one.. but finding out it is a real disorder.. i kinda feel like crying, but on the other hand.. it kinda feels nice.. to know that i'm not alone, that i'm not crazy..
@nalo9091 I think I wasn't getting enough satisfaction from picking and biting my skin and once I started trich, I found that very compulsive and skin picking wasn't tempting at all. Although as I said, if I ever look at a finger too long I'll get an urge.
Oh bless your heart. I too had struggles with college and my trich acting up along with it. I am happy to say I did finally graduate college this past year and yes I was bald too, but I finished. It took me 9 years to deal with it but I finished. Hair grows back. You gotta do what you gotta do. I know that is hard to hear, but I too have trich, so you know what I mean when I say that. Only those with trich know what we mean when we say that. A normal person saying that just makes us mad.

@amberloveskeeley As a fellow "Trichster," my advice is to go to your parents. It is very scary and uncomfortable, I know, but you feel much more refreshed when it's out in the open and don't have to hide anymore. Keeping it inside tends to be even more stressful (which can result in more hairfits, etc.). For Derm, seeing a doctor might be a good idea, to make sure nothing gets infected. Good luck!

If you're especially high strung, to the point where you cannot sleep, pick out your hair or skin, or are prone to highs and lows, its incredibly helpful. I've had dermatillomania and OCD since I was 5, and although I've always enjoyed the benefits of being intelligent, creative and sensitive, there have always been trade-offs. As someone who failed her driver's test two times, I can definitely attest that third time is a charm. Strangely, I had parallel parking down pat the first time. i don't know if that's a driving requirement in the UK or not, but it's very rarely a useful skill.
Keep hanging on in terms of trich. I have trich, depression, and onchyophagia (a nervous disorder that involves a lot of nail biting) and your videos help me feel a bit better and far less alone. You are beautiful and wonderful. :)

@nalo9091 I had dermatillomania for ages, and then I kind of stopped and moved on to Trichotillomania. Every so often I still pick my skin though.

@nalo9091 I think I wasn't getting enough satisfaction from picking and biting my skin and once I started trich, I found that very compulsive and skin picking wasn't tempting at all. Although as I said, if I ever look at a finger too long I'll get an urge.

Oh bless your heart. I too had struggles with college and my trich acting up along with it. I am happy to say I did finally graduate college this past year and yes I was bald too, but I finished. It took me 9 years to deal with it but I finished. Hair grows back. You gotta do what you gotta do. I know that is hard to hear, but I too have trich, so you know what I mean when I say that. Only those with trich know what we mean when we say that. A normal person saying that just makes us mad.

Hey Beckie, I adore you and love your videos so much. You are such an idol to me and i think you are amazing.
I need some advise as I think I have trichotillomania and dermatillomania (Checked so many websites and have all the symptoms) . I am really worried and cannot speak to my parents about this. Is it best to go to the doctors? and if so what do i say? Please help! :( xx

@amberloveskeeley As a fellow "Trichster," my advice is to go to your parents. It is very scary and uncomfortable, I know, but you feel much more refreshed when it's out in the open and don't have to hide anymore. Keeping it inside tends to be even more stressful (which can result in more hairfits, etc.). For Derm, seeing a doctor might be a good idea, to make sure nothing gets infected. Good luck!

(try valerian root, or a low dose of something like Valproic Acid). If you're especially high strung, to the point where you cannot sleep, pick out your hair or skin, or are prone to highs and lows, its incredibly helpful. I've had dermatillomania and OCD since I was 5, and although I've always enjoyed the benefits of being intelligent, creative and sensitive, there have always been trade-offs. Valerian seems to be a very effective modulator. love your channel! Your energy is contagious :)

As someone who failed her driver's test two times, I can definitely attest that third time is a charm. Strangely, I had parallel parking down pat the first time. i don't know if that's a driving requirement in the UK or not, but it's very rarely a useful skill.
Keep hanging on in terms of trich. I have trich, depression, and onchyophagia (a nervous disorder that involves a lot of nail biting) and your videos help me feel a bit better and far less alone. You are beautiful and wonderful. :)
