  • when i re watch this video, it takes me back to that time and what i feel when i see it is amazing. it's timeless and exctasy

  • where are all of this videos?

  • incubus is a band that evolves album to album. they were doing it while dirk was in the band and they continue to do it with ben. this argument is so fucking old already.

  • 0:44 to 0:57 what's the name of this song that dirk is playing?

    is 11 am?

  • @trynuxxx this is a recording of them creating 11am for the album.

  • @trynuxxx mike's playing not dirk...it's the pre-chorus of 11am

  • i dont understand. I own the morning view dvd and the scenes are all a bit longer then the ones in the dvd, i wonder...

  • @dirk311s is it the same for anyone else?

  • I wonder who recorded all of these morning view videos?/

  • Love this, watching bands writing songs in front of our eyes that we grew up with. History to me cause I was in highschool when this CD came out. You can even see Brandon jotting down lyrics or something, freaking awesome

  • It's impossible for a band to stay the same. Everyone grows and changes throughout life and think of how old these guys were when they started. Of course they have changed therefore their music has changed. I know I'm nothing close to what I was in high school, lol

Love these guys and always have!!

  • I love how people can blame the whole band for having a different sound if one person leaves.

Just cause the bassist is different doesnt mean that the other band members are going to change.

Maybe in a few songs but not all together.

Both Ben and Dirk are dope, stop complaining and move on.

  • @Embreezie

ben is not dope, hes a guitarist who approaches bass like a guitar. dirk was something else, and will always be an important missing piece.

  • @skrape110 Approaches the bass like a guitar my ass. Ben's playing might be somewhat more rock, in a sense that the basslines aren't always straying elsewhere, doing it's own thing while complimenting the music at times, but this is not true to everything he plays in Incubus. He does not always play with a pick, he's actually more of a finger player nowadays. He didn't record Talk Shows on Mute, Megalomaniac, etc. with a pick. If you think he's sloppy, I got two words for you: Look Alive.

  • @Embreezie

except thats EXACTLY what happened... incubus went in a huge direction change after dirk. even as far to say as mike switched guitars/amps, jose changed his kit completely, killmore hardly scratches anymore and plays the organ?

its a WHOLE different band nowadays... if you are really a fan of incubus you'll be able to realize it

  • @Embreezie I heard that mike wrote most the basslines any idea if thats true?

  • I love this song!

  • Dirk is gone, get over it!

  • They're worried about the high hats being all over the place here, but has anyone here noticed them in Anna Molly off Light Grenades? - Shows how much these guys have changed =/

  • dude look at science and deep inside.. hi hattted only diff is that anna molly was heavier

  • I agree

  • dirk is king!

  • here you can really see the difference and the importance of dirk in the creative process...

i still love ben and his solo work.

but i just can't stand songs like love hurts, earth to bella, and some other lame shit they did

  • I would love to rehearse through PA's. Incubus is lucky that they no longer have to rehearse through raw drums and amps.

  • And by the way 777, Dirk isn't a video game host, he is making music for videogames with Stickman Entertainment.

  • FREak

    have a nice life

  • Tremonti777, I see you beat me to the puch on commenting on this amazing Incubus video. The score is now 490054- 490053. Don't enjoy your lead for too long because I will have my revenge...As far as Ben vs Dirk i personally think that ben is a more talented bassist than Dirk. We can see this is in ACLOTM or on his beatiful live soloes. His solo albums are also a testament to the Ben's extensive creativity and talent as a musician.

  • This video actually makes you think on the Dirk issue in which Mike said he didnt contribute to the creative process and that shows him actually being part of it.But still, its possible Mike wrote the basslines because Mike is a music genius and plus what has happened to Dirk after Incubus? He becomes a reporter for some videogame show...Damn the guy might be talented but if he was that talented he could have easily just been part of another band and make music, but he becomes a reporter for a show

  • Ok so i have to admit i love Morning View... in one part because its full of music with a good vibe... i like songs like Pistola, priceless, a kiss to send us off, paper shoes, rogues too but they don't compare to Just a Phase, Blood on the ground, warning

  • brandon es lindo, se le extraña a Dirk

  • I felt very sad when Dirk left,I miss him,I feel he influenced the melodic sound a lot like 11 am, which I like more than the frantic stuff. I feel the music since Dirk left has lost something. But I'm not blaming Ben for this,he's a good bassist .Incubus haven't matched "Morning view" as far as I'm concerned. That album was out of this world.Beautiful.But

  • man i wish my band practise area had this amount of atmoshere

  • uhhh, Dirk WAS the creative level. Everything since Morning View has souded the fucking same. Not that it isn't good, it is just in the same feeling and direction. They stopped growing when Dirk left.

  • you do realise that mikey wrote quite alot of drisk stuff dont you?

  • sorry i mean dirk * @ Zapataz

  • I love watching the creative processes going into making albums. That's the best part, to me.

  • lizardqueen is right...they are beyond musically inclined then before..they created their own instruments even...they are amazing now, as they were amazing then

  • dude everyone just needs to get over dirk being gone. He was the bad apple of the band. He's was very musically inclined but spiritually and mentally he was not on the same level as the others. Ben is an asset and fits perfectly with the others personalities. They are still excellent and even greater than what they were before.

  • i think both bassists are great and have done a lot for the band, but they both mark very different periods in the band. dirk had huge creative influence over all of their albums, and its sad to see him go, but he's gone. recognise that it's a new period for the band and accept it

  • agreed!

  • hell no my friend, dirk was just way too good - brought out the best vibes in incubus's style. ben kenny is a joke, just plain shit.

  • ben kenney is so not shit .. apparently mike wrote alot of diirk's lass lines anyway, and the point is ben kenney is far from shit, his improvisation during live perfomances are proof enough.

  • WOW, dirk really was a great backbone to the band, its such a sad shame he's not with them.

  • I really think Mike is the creative genius behind the band. I've seen some guitar technique lessons from him, and he is very very smart in how he plays the guitar.

  • they're gods!!!

  • the bands just not the same without dirk

  • Ben is a really good replacement though.

  • Ben is really good, but Dirk was really sort of funky. And there was more slap-base. But I still love Incubus. Bands must of course, evolve and mature. They're new stuff is awesome. But I still miss the funk their music had back then, during S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and Fungus.

  • its on morning view but both dvds are pretty cool. some people might be disapointed tho cuz you only get small clips like this one, and you just want to see more of it, its still worth getting it though.

  • what is on the incubus attacks dvd? and is it possible to see more of this stuff where they you can actually see the whole process coz that really cool...plz let there be more vids like this..

  • no.....its on morning view sessions......

  • sweet i gotta have the morining view disc, lol

  • yeah this is all on the morning view sessions DVD

you can really see in this video how key dirk was in the songwriting process and orchestration

  • Incubus home movies......SWEET!!!!!its cool to see them pull the song togther. Too Cute!!!!!*

  • oh.. cool incubus song that's very2 great

  • omg this is gold!! i always dreamed of seeing these bootlegs!!

  • Hey redcenter! Dunno if u know it but there is actually a DVD with all this footage from the making of morning view and with the morning view sessions gig called "Morning View Sessions". INCUBUS ROCKS!!

  • Whoa! How come i didn't know that :0

Thanks man!! Gonna purchase mine as soon as i find..can't miss those masterpieces ;D

  • or u can go to a torrent site and download the bootleg of Live in Atlanta, part of their most recent tour

  • not a bootleg, its on their Morning View Sessions dvd
