Thanks for the well-informed description of In Taberna. This performance sounds very exciting! It would be nice to see a video of the staged production! WOW!
/// damn! some things should remain as they were, this sounds much better in its medieval context in which the monks goliards wrote it,
I'd rather vercion of corvus corax, they have better medieval context.
ColinOfBarbara: Ok he was the LAST thats what i was wondering. I didnt know anybody had put these poems into songs before him. That is after the era it was written in.
@ColinOfBarbaria: I could tell you a lot more about the CB but this isn't the place to do it.
This song is named "In taberna quando sumus", it is from "Carmina Burana" which is a medieval collection of songs and poems (XIII century).
This Youtube is the medieval music. Composer and author are unknown.
I think this version is recorded by Ensemble Unicorn and Ensemble Oni Wytars. CD edited by Naxos.
Some of theses poems were used by XX century composer Carl Orff in a scenic cantata. But style and music are very different. Look for "Carmina Burana" in wikipedia...
@micrologus2 Do you know where can I find the full list of the 47 Carmina Burana with musical accompainment? I can't find it anywhere (sorry for bad english)

@ColinOfBarbaria: I think you didn't read the comment of odoacreosorkon nor what I wrote. Carl Orff was the last one to put these music into songs.
