You forgot to mention the Russian atrocities committed in Poland, ranging from many thousands of rapes to large-scale massacres as in infamous Katyn.
And the civilians were kept unaware by the regime, the Holocaust was a secret SS operation and the only official news about the deportation of the Jews revolved around their resettlement in the East.

Then why did the Germans go crazy on the Eastern Front and carry out a policy of mass extermination. 15 million civilians in Russia not to mention the Holocaust.
The Wermacht participated in these crimes and so Germany basically reaped what it sowed.
The russians offered a chance for surrender in Berlin but the Germans refused. Then all the white European divisions were pulled back and the mongolian divisions were let loose with devasting results.

It´s terrible and certainly war crimes have been committed on both sides. the bombing of Hamburg has been as devastating.. entire quarters have been burned and 30.000 killed in a single night. But what you should never ignore: it was in RETALIATION for the German attacks on their neighbours.

most of this damage was done by allied bombers.the allies wanted to leave the germans to starve after the war, the only reason they changed their minds was because the russians started to feed the germans in their sector and build accommodation, the allies feared a communist germany would be created so they came up with the marshall plan

Of course one criminal act does not jusify another. But in many of these circumstances (and I note the Indians died of foriegn communicable diseases that the Europeans had)the Americans rebelled and stopped their own actions with protests and war. The Civil War killed more americans than any other war ended slavery. The nuclear weapon was used to end a war in Japan, not to take over Japan. The US also prevented the SU from taking over germany by the berlin airlift.
