  • "Historically Dishonest" - that just about sums up the political history of the "Weasel Whisperer" Newt Gingrich.

  • LIES!!! "Under God" was ADDED to the Pledge of Allegiance in 1956, during the Second Red Scare.

The same year, the official motto was CHANGED to "In God We Trust" from what the founding fathers chose, "E Pluribus Unum"--"From many, one".

Furthermore, the Constitution mentions religion ONLY ONCE, "No religious Test shall ever be required..."

  • It's kinda funny. It's not really questioned or debated what the religous views were of all the the Tutors, or Charla, or any of the heads of state of Europe. Yet to this day, Jefferson, Washington, and Franklin's religion is much debated. We don't really know if they were Dsts or not. U think that would b a hint 2 the role they felt religion should have.

  • God is outside of what you can see - outside our dimensions. Only a truely ignorant person would only believe in what they can see. There is more in Heaven and Earth than is dreamed of in your philosophy.

  • I believe Newt, He's washed by the blood of Jesus

  • Wow , if Newt only believed his own words.......!

  • "A government like ours...a republic" really? Still making that tired ass case? SOOOO pointless. This dudes delusional. God wasn't put on our currency until 1957 and in our pledge of allegiance in 1954...our "perfect-in-every-way founders" had nothing to do with it

  • This is so offensive I can't stand it. Leave it to little Newtie to so distort our very history to try to reinforce his personal ideology! Many of the founding fathers wanted religion as far away from government as possible (including Jefferson!!) You MUST have separation of church and state if we are to be a nation of religious freedom. Newt and his thugs want to make this the United States of Jesus. Stop this travesty! Don't vote for this liar.

  • The founders made it very clear, separation of Church and State. This fat fuck is trying to re-write history to get a few votes. The is of zero consequence to the challenges this country is facing right now. Why aren't we having a genuine discourse about energy independence, jobs, health care, the fact that most Fortune 500 companies pay little to zero taxes? Newt, do everyone a favor and shut your fat fucking face.

  • Jefferson was also a staunch atheist, hated organized religion, and almost lost the 1800 election due to his controversial views on faith. He was actually the man who coined the term "separation of church and state."

  • Newt Gingrich and Wife #3 are so right. Get everyone worked up over some stupid fear of "secularism". How could this many EVER have the right to tell us about morality???

  • I have no problem with true faith and love of God but I think Gingrich is exploiting the faith for his political objectives. This is the man who cheated on his cancer stricken wife with the woman who later became his second wife and on his second wife with another girl...

  • What a stale piece of fucking horseshit this nonsense is. Most founders were either atheist/agnostic or didn't care. Fuck these stupid, misguided, cocksuckers.

  • Most founders were Protestant Christians friend. (Google: God in America [pbs] - God bless u, hope ur journey in finding Truth is rewarding).

  • @prboxershorts That's actually incorrect. Founders such as Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, Benjamin Franklin (Although not a signer of the declaration) were not in fact Christians, they were Deists.

  • @ColinFowler You are correct in saying they were Deists. I would add to that statement that all the beliefs a Deist have are found in the Protestant Bible. The reason they were not considered purely Protestants, was because *some* of the founding fathers did not believe in the miracles -- walking on water, healing the blind, raising the dead, etc. -- but the very few that didnt believe in the miracles were in TOTAL agreeance with what the Bible taught. So your point is valid, as so is mine.

  • Hey, I would highly recommend this documentary for those that dont believe in miracles, it is called TRANSFORMATIONS by Otis Jr. A second would be Finger of God, awesome awesome documentaries that reveal the loving miracles that still happen today. Glory to Him in the highest, Adonai.

  • Find evidence of God first before trying to find evidence of God in America.

  • @progrockcoffee Yes you so write.

  • @progrockcoffee Watch The Case for Christ -- for evidence that Jesus is God my friend. As for some of the ppl speaking on morality and other things in this move (no comment) Lol

  • @prboxershorts You have a Mexican friend named Jesus? Cool.

  • @progrockcoffee *movie

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA Newt Gingrich talking about morality HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHA

  • Rush Limbaugh, for christ sake, actually compared to the current GOP to slaves in the South! Or blacks in the South, whatever. They "have to go to the back of the bus." I mean, I don't like Obama any more than you guys do, but for christ sake, he's only been president for 6 months now! How can you say the GOP is already some kind of "oppressed minority"?

  • Government must take a neutral stance on religion. Of course, this doesn't mean that we can't preach certain values and whatnot. But it does mean that government officials shouldn't fucking use "the lord" as the excuse for everything they do or use Biblical scripture as an excuse to discriminate against gays. What are we, in the 1200s?? Grow up!

You can pray in public and do whatever you want as long as you don't harm others, but you cannot put god in gov't. That's all I ask.

  • The Founders were DEISTS! At least quite a few of em anyway. They were not religious fundies like Pat Robertson or much of you Republicans. I highly doubt they'd want your approval. If anything, they'd have more respect for a limited government guy like RON PAUL, who has no ties with the Religious Right! He doesn't make his faith a huge deal. He doesn't bitch about "god in public life."

God's not OUT of public life, anyway! It's just getting God out of GOVERNMENT! Having it neutral.

  • You conservative Christians are such fucking wimps, I swear. What is it with you and this victim complex? Or should I say, persecution complex? Why do conservatives so often act like they're being held down? When it's exactly the opposite! There are more conservatives than liberals, or at least more moderate conservatives. Yet you guys pretend like you're in the minority. You care too damn much about what the media says and don't assert your own power, much to my chagrin.

  • Just because our country was founded with God in mind doesn't mean we should continue its practice. True strength in our government and country is based upon philosophical reason, not a deity's reasoning. Also the adaptability of our constitution allows it to never become severely dated. The constitution was also founded to provide no contradictions to the institution of slavery. We did away with that because we became more aware of our fellow humans. Let us now realize our true surroundings.

  • Try God...If you don't like Him...Satan will always take you back.

  • lol

  • I too believe that our great nation was founded under God. Weather you believe in Him or not you cant change the past and you have the right (at least for now) to believe what you want if you live here. Be thankful.

  • @14wntr Whether, the word is Whether....

  • I understand what a particle is,what gases are, and pressure is.I understand what cold is too. I believe that man is a product of evolution also. I also believe in God because of personal revelation and a spiritual sense of the universe. If you like your cold vacuum. Enjoy it!

  • BRADFORD YOU STAY OUT OF IT. YOur a closet Atheist and you know it.

  • LOL

  • LOL this is comming from a time when people didn't understand what a particle was. Didn't even fully understand what gases/pressures, and cold really were. This is way before relativity and quantum mechanics. And people still want to inscribe this false pseudo nonsense on people. If you don't know by now the world is round and we share a common ancestor with apes.

  • it still doesnt mean that i cant believe in a higher being

  • so knowledge makes it wrong for us to beleive in God. you call us bigots? you call us self-rightious?well you can take that and shove it up yours good sir.
