Yeah, I hit 180+ last year. Between the slight drizzle and the congestion (I was near the front of the pack) I didn't want to push it. It was still a fun, great event though!

180mph is crazy fast!!

Me and a friend got up to just over 150mph in his bolt on 3000gt VR4, and I could see the moonroof and windows moving in and out from their frame!

I might have been faster, but wouldnt have known because his speedo only goes to 125mph; a friend with a built and sleeved 1.95L b18c1, running an .84 t4/t4 on an insanely built head, w/ treated gears that traps 143mph in the 1/4m.

Loss is like 10 hp to the wheels between auto and manual, so it's very little.

If I throttle-blip between shifts with the paddles, it will "slam" into second and spin, but I don't like beating on the car like that, so I don't do it. If I drive it in automatic-mode, it chirps in second AND third, lol.

1st about 40 mph @ 6500

2nd about 80 mph @ 6500

3rd about 125mph @ 6500

These figures are give or take, I'd have to do an actual WOT run to get exact numbers.

Yea, if I had enough money to get a c6 vette (and then mod it); I would probably come to the decision that increasing the longevity of the vette would be more important than smashing on it.......... or would I.... lol j/k..

Is the throttle blip a trick to get more aggressive shifting? or is it part of the oem auto shifting?

This was in Atlantic City, NJ. The cops "tell" you to keep to the speed limit, but I was blowing by them doing 120 most of the run, and they never stop us, lol. It's as much fun for them to watch us as it is for us to actually do it.

They were only cracking down on reckless driving, like rapid lane-changes, burnouts, etc. If we just cruise like you see in the video, they don't bother you. I hit 180+ last year, but it was a gorgeous day last year.

It was drizzling this year, so I went easy.

sounds so damn good, i wanted to see a "spirited" run that just happened to be next to a c5 and c6 zo6 that were being "spirited", lol

8:11 was awesome! violently amazing.... all that was missing was the hard shift to 2nd resulting in some 2nd gear wheel spin and maybe a little steering correction... :D

what does 1st gear/2nd gear/3rd go to in the auto??
