When it rings like that and doesn't "turn on", fan spinning etc..

Most likely the cpu/gpu has heated and warped the board abit.

X-clamp fix should fix this. Just dont tighten the bolts too much. Add new thermal paste.

no problem. But before opening everything up, check the error code.

google xbox error code, "secondary error codes".

IF you do the fix, the perfect fit is when you tighten the bolts so it doesn't bend the board, just just before it, youll see what i mean. If it continues giving 3 rrod, loosen a bit more.

Towel trick is not recommended you should do it with the way of using the tutorials which you must open and redo the motherboard areas where it actually caused the "ring or rings of death" you can try many tutorials but a good one i have seen was TripFullAces tutorial which includes 3 parts and is very descriptive. Also if you do do this trick its not as bad as you think as long as you give it 2x the amount of time to cool down..

It was early 2007 when i bought my Xbox 360, a month later it got the red ring so i sent it in and a week later i got My Xbox 360 back and since then it Works Great. Microsoft has Fix the Red Ring by putting a Jasper Chip in all later 2007- when ever they stop making them.

The towel trick may work, but I am not willing to take the chance of doing even more damage. I am leaving this for the professionals to fix.
