I'm a super hardcore Mortal Kombat fan, I even own Mortal Kombat 1 and was an obsessed fan since the first time I saw MK1, though I wasn't too fond of the 3D versions of the game and was very happen when MK9 came out with the classic style and characters. Sorry my original post annoyed you. Long live Mortal Kombat!

midway makes some of the best arcade games. when mk came out(long time ago), i was in shock by the gore and realism of the characters.

Actually midway wasnt the first to help make it. They started it when MK3 came out. Mortal kombat 1 and 2 where different companys I part 2 is make by Acclaim and part one Im not too sure about. But I think Part 2 was the best gore hands down part 3 and the rest they got kinda lazy IMO.

Leviathan is Soul, almost like Shang Tsung....LK-SZ is Sub-Zero, who apparently has some combined moves with Cyrax and Sub-Zero ,while Hydro is a close friend of Sub-Zero who was able to form weapons out of ice in the old Mortal Kombat comics in his human form...

So that means their former race is the same while their moves are 100% different.
