  • i always pictured the captain of a tall ship pulling into a small ocean community where you could see the ships from the hilly streets where the fog would roll in at night.

  • i named my daughter after this song. an interesting fact is that barry manilows MANDY was originally named brandy, but Looking glass already had the hit with that name.

  • Hello Neighbor ,Thank you for posting this video!

  • Back at ya! Thanks for the visit seattlesunshinelady! You have certainly given us many days of sunshine! You can rest now! haha

  • Yeah. I aggee .can't concentrate. Too hot too work. I sent the kids to the water and at 2pm I am headed out.

  • I Love this SONG! and the Wonderful Nature pics in the VIDEO! I Love to TRAVEL and TRAVEL for a LIVING!

  • Wow and not a gray day in sight! You're ruining WA's rep ;o)

  • There is supposedly a true story behind this song now. She was supposed to live in New Brunswick, Mary Ellis. She died in 1827. They are debatinfgor were debating on whether or not to move her grave from a movie theater parking lot.

    Great vid BTW!

  • really? so where did they get the name of Brandy out of Mary?

  • Mom always said if this song came out a few months earlier she would have named me Brady. Talk about dating myself! *wink*

  • I like the video you made. I was named after this song. I really had no idea how popular it was. I used to bartend and the owner would play it and everyone would sing it to me! Guess It was meant to be!

  • This is my favorite song in the whole wide world and it reminds me of my first love, he was a shrimper, always gone on the boat...thanks for the video and a little visit to the past.

  • First loves are always awesome! Thanks for the comment.

  • I live a little N. on Whidbey Is. where the views are equally beautiful, but we must leave after 10 yrs for affordable Ohio and Lake Erie. We have more wind there but nothing like the ecology of Puget Sound.

"Brandy" has remarkable lyrics; except for the 1 word "whiskey" it could be a 10,000 year old folk song. Beautiful match of words with the melody.

"She could feel the ocean fall and rise."

  • I agree, the words and lyrics are amazing.

  • this song is my number one favorite in the whole wide world and has been since I was a little kid, I never ever tire of it and it reminds me of someone I lost to his love of the sea but I still love the sea. Thanks for the gorgeous picutes, they do the song justice!

  • How things work out!! John Denver was offered the lead role in "An Officer And A Gentleman" - but figured that he would not be believable in that role. Richard Geer thanks him - a lot!!!

  • This kind of made me laugh. I saw Looking Glass in a bar in Texas after they had been performing this song on the road for about 2 years. They played an extremely dirty version, and they were all really drunk and having a great time. Thanks for the memories of a great evening!
