  • I'm 138 pounds and I'm 13, but I'm 5'8, so it balances out. It's not stress, it's our parents. My mom just offered me ice-cream. All I've eaten today was pizza and a poptart. But, now that I think about it, they could make school a little less stressful ;)

  • im 14 and im 200 pounds, but i walk everyday to school and stuff, but, when i have alot of time, like summer vacation and stuff, i tend not to eat as much. because im busy playing stuff :D

  • im 13 i get stressed alot in fact i got a disease called reflux caused by stressed and I dont eat "comfort food" im not over weight, i weigh 40 kg and i hate greasy food. (makes me throw up)

  • Stress is absolutely a factor because of the hypothalamus and cortisol. It is very much chemically-related. If you research this, you will find out the facts about it Morethanenough... A doctor recently told me, "I have patients that come here frequently worried because of the weight they are losing; figuring that they have some horrible disease, but in truth, they cannot keep weight on because they are under extreme stress. Weight gain and weight loss are both factors with stress."

  • Our chidren are becoming obese bc parents feed them too much, junk and don't make them go out to play. Sorry but NO ONE can become OBESE from stress! Its what you eat. As for preventative measures...parents should acutally PARENT and say no when the kid wants a candy bar.

  • When I'm stressed, angry, or sad I can not eat. It makes me sick even thinking of food.

  • When I'm stress I refuse to eat anything. I hate eating and my mother threatened to send me to psychiatrist when I was six but I was so scared of talking about my fear of eating that I pretended to eat my food but I puked it up in the garden.

I had to pretend I don't have any problems with food or else my mother would call me stupid if I said I was scared of eating. Now I'm really afraid of being obese that find it a struggle to eat and my hair and nails go all gross from not eating.

  • @Manganese5 That's "anorexia" (in spanish) i think, search in google. But by what you say i think you have some kind of phobia (an irracional strong fear to something) but is important that you tell your mother (or some doctor if your an adult now) that you might have anorexia or some phobia and that you need help about that, anorexia is not a game, it is very common and dangerous and if you fall in some depresion in your life time and you have anorexia then it can go out of control and kill u.

  • what if your stressed but control yout eatting still would you still get fat

  • my bro is about 250 im like 215 ten percent body fat my bro has like 15 we are big but my bro is huge like not fat he is but he is built we both play football

  • you aren't going to end STRESS. it's also the least important factor here. look at the entire third world, where stress levels are enormous. they aren't fat. the most important factor is lifestyle, i.e. MCDONALDS. corporate greed and over-consumption killed a whole section of a generation. fat children are incredibly profitable. there is no other explanation that accounts for the american-centric phenomenon. americans aren't more stressed, however they are slaves to corporate food.

  • @Desarollo true and true but stress doubles the chances of what you just described.

  • I can't be fat right now. I'm 13 and I'm very skinny, although I way 135 pounds. I do eat my mothers home cooked meals with organic foods (maybe this helps). Also I tend to get exercise ALL the time, I climb the roof of elementry and high schools all the time. But I always stay 135 pounds and I still look skinny.

  • @daftmarzo because that is skinny dear

  • GOOD FOR YOU!!

  • @daftmarzo that's hilarious. when i was a kid i use to climb up unto elementary and high schools too. all the time. it was like an obsession for me and my cousins. totally weird, i never knew other people did that too. it's was totally fun. ahh the good ole days. the challenge of figuring out new schools was the most exciting part. good luck fellow climber. climb as many as you can.

  • i dont understand how this can happen like how hard is it to just eat till your content.

  • @breakthrice well as an overweight person, I was home alone a lot and when my parents were home they were fighting and I knew candy was yummy so I ate it, all the time, granted I am paying the price today, and I don't want my children to think that food is their way out of a situation. And frankly there are some people who don't have that mechanism in the brain that says we are full now and keep eating until they feel sick.

  • Good video. Join the Fight. DELETE Childhood Obesity!

  • Excellent video that shows the direct relationship of stress/lifestyle and obesity. Keep up the good work with these videos.

    Dr. Alvarez

  • He must be really stressed

  • It can be related, I mean think about it. What do overstessed teenage girls do? They go home and eat.

  • and if thats so its not going to change soon.Women are judge harshly on their appearances. They see theese pictures and photos of the picture perfect girl and thats what they think they're expected to be.They're stressed. They go and eat. Then people tease them on their weight.Another factor may be at home or school stress.Parents fighting...bad grades....ect.

  • but may i remind u tht teenage girls dont stay home often-they go out and eat...its unhealthier in fastfood or restraunts than at home

  • @zunevsipod1 not me i excersize xD i feel better when i am fitt and stressed out cause at least thats one thing that can never be taken from meh lol ..... P.s sory about my bad grammar lol ^^ =]

  • I found very interesting the fact that stress may be connected with obesity!
