@jonettedavid Haha maybe someday... I'm so backed up on videos because school is monopolizing my life... The best advice I can give you is to just keep taking pictures! Trial and error is the best way to learn, and it's how I learned.
if you didnt have any Nikon, say. Which model will you choose Canon 550d or D90, the lens i will try to get will be the Tamron 18-270mm. Im having hard, really HARD time due to the many ppl says this and say that about both brands... which will u choose? thanks!
@getnelson852 for making movies and excellent video quality go for 550D, if u hardly take videos then go for the nikon. I suggest u go for the new canon 60D coz its priced about the D90.

@cameraking360 And you, sir, have no place on youtube if all you are going to do is verbally attack other users out of either jealousy or boredom. I'm really getting sick of immature people like you. Grow up and get a life.
Nice review. Very professional for a young man. One thing not mentioned in these responses to the vid (unless it's in part 2) is that the D90 has the focusing motor, giving you access to more AF lenses. Sure, you could manual focus and loose metering, but that's not what technological evolution is all about.
i need someone to help me !!!!! i wanna become a photographer and i don't anything about cameras?!!! i even don't know where should i start :(((((((((
Best advice, Start off small!!! I did, I started with a D40X and a 18-55 kit lens. I would advise you to do the same. Go to a camera shop and try out a D40. It's plenty cheap and is still a pretty decent camera. I'm personally a Nikon fan, but don't be afraid to test out other brands as well, ask the people in the store for comparable models from Canon and maybe even Sony. Once you've got a camera, watch my tutorials and NEVER be afraid to ask questions!!!
another question do u think is it a good idea if i start with nikon d90 for beginner ??? another thing there so many things i dont understand when i try to read like f/6.3 or ISO400 orAF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED what does it mean ?????is there any web that can explain that :(((( i mean its different language and i would love to learn more ...........please answer me as soon as u can ......
I can certainly explain it for ya! In fact, I'll make a video of the lens terminology. ISO 400 and f/6.3 are all things I discuss in my tutorial videos already posted. You'll want to watch the ISO tutorial and Aperture tutorial for the answers to those questions specifically. Check them all out, and subscribe so you'll know when I get the lens terminology one up.
and I forgot to answer your other question... If you can afford a D90, go for it. It might be a bit overwhelming for somebody new to photography due to the sheer number of buttons, functions, and controls, but go test it out in the store to get a first-hand opinion of it.
Same here...... I'd also started of by having my first DSLR which was the Nikon D60 with 18-55mm kit lens. You should buy entry level DSLR 1st, then gradually move up^^ Good Luck^^
I went from the D40X, which is amost identical to the D60, to the D90, so I'd say so. In terms of ease of use as far as manual controls are concerned, it's like night and day... but if you just got the D60, what's the rush to get the
D90 so soon? Maybe consider some new lenses first.
Why what? are you asking why the D60 is almost identical to the '40X? or are you asking why I advise you to get new lenses first? Let me know so I can help ya!
Haha gotcha. First off, lenses will last much longer than a new camera, and better lenses will help your photos a lot. The decision is up to you though, if you were going to buy the
D90, I would suggest you try to sell the D60 to offset the cost. you can probably get a decent bit for it since it's relatively new.
hmm true good idea! And also I watched a video of your review on the 70-200 mm lens (the big one) and what exactly is so good about it? Like what makes it so much better than others?
The most important thing about it is its ability to shoot at f/2.8 throughout the zoom range, giving you several times more light than cheaper tele zooms. No other tele zoom can come close to being as bright as the 70-200.
I know very little about canons, especially the lower-end ones. I can't really tell you anything that you can't learn yourself through research. Just pull up the nikon and canon sites side by side and have a look around. If you have any specific questions, please let me know.
Would you recomend the D90 who has had two different superzooms for a few years? I know what ISO and Aperture, and pretty much what all that stuff is.
The D5000 is like a D90 lite. It's got the same sensor and things that come with that, same AF sensor, and that's about it. Everything else is similar to the D60, with the exception that the rear LCD can turn and swivel like some more expensive point & shoots. My opinion is unless money is an issue, get the D90. It has better ergonimics than the D5000
There is little real difference between the D90 and D300. the D300 has better autofocus, fps, and is made of metal. Unless you're a big sports shooter, you might wanna save the extra $800 for a nice new lens somewhere down the line.
The D40x isn't made any more, it's now the D60 and they are essentially the same. Honestly, it's a bit of a toss-up as to which i'd reccomend. The D60 is newer that the D80, but the D80 is SO much easier to use. I would advise you to go to a camera shop and test out both models. If you have any specific questions, please let me know!
thanks man, i think im goin' to buy the D90, im saving now and i think for chrismas im goin' to buy it. but im like indecisive to buy it, cuz i live in mexico and the dollar is expensive, xDD.
You're exactly right. I might have forgotten to mention that the d40,40x and 60 don't have the in-camera screw motor for NON af-s lenses. A lens such as this must be focused manually...and who wants to do that???
Thanks for the nice walkthru, I am a point and shoot user but I am thinking about moving up to the D90 SLR and this helps explain some of those settings (eventually I will learn them all).

Aiden-
If you can afford the D60, definately go for that one. Not that there's anything wrong with the D40 though. Advantages of D60 over D40-
*More megapixels
*Faster shooting speed (just by a little bit)
*Dust reduction systems to keep your sensor squeaky clean
*Active D-lighting, which keeps photo contrast in balance
*Better kit lens (The D60 lens has vibration reduction to keep images from blurring)
Hope this helps! :)
