  • OMG!

  • what ever happened to attacking from the unburned side?? Please no smart remarks just use this as a learning tool and learn that this is NOT the way to attack a structure fire. Before you question my expertise I am a Lt here in Ny , you never push fire into a structure alway away from it ++++++ you can hear the wind so that should have played a roll during size up... Learn from it

  • @68camarojake You are correct, no matter what you are told.

  • thats sad its a pretty legit house and the people lost every thing even there car

  • Were they able to save the house?

  • @thesoulsekr does it LOOK like they did?????????

  • theres a fire and its 12 am and its across the street! amber and ashes everywhere

  • @68camarojake Hah cars dont explode like in movies stupid americano

  • Get a line going on the main building for goodness sake!!!! the garage is lost so save the house!!!!!!!!!

  • The Nissan is on fire lol!

  • Fires are horrible and destructive. I will be a firefighter some day so I can save lives and homes from that awful mess just like my dad.

  • good footage

  • how did this house catch on fire?

why did it catch on fire?

  • how did this house catch on fire?

    and why did it catch?

  • good thing the wind was not from the opposite direction or it would have ate thru that second story in a hurry.

  • sounds like yfire1234 has all the answers.

  • @trophybird Yep...and I'll bet yfire has read a lot of books from the safety of his room, so that he can watch 9 minutes of video from the safety of his room and tell every one how to fight fire...from the safety of his key board.

  • You could def. pull another line from the engine at the end of the driveway right to that door, and I bet it's got access to the second floor. How about some ventilation on the back windows near the fire? How long does it take you to knock out a car fire (a long ass time if your using a solid bore nozzle). No ladders to the rear of the house?? Ladder placement is key.

  • Just looks like a poorly run scene. Cant see what is going on in front, but several points. I dont see a tower ladder, you could def. use a stick on the roof. Second, you obviously have an interior attack going on in the garage, but what about the second floor?? How about mutiple lines, like taking a 2.5 in through the garage to free up an 1.75 to go upstairs with? You also have a access point right behind the garage.

  • They should not have vented so far away from the seat of the fire, just pulls the fire right through the house. Also they did the right thing by not bothering with the car because its not going to blow up like in the movies and compared to the more expensive house its not worth the trouble. just make sure they fire does not spread from the car to something not on fire, which it would not have.

  • How long did it take the fd to figure out to battle the upper fire an extieror.

  • Shouldnt They Put The Car Out First? What If It Exploaded Coz The Fire Hit The Fuel.

  • @JLaneZx

gasoline doesnt explode; the "explosions" associated with car fire are mostly tires and electronics.

  • This is painful to watch (as a firefighter).

  • ihr müsst halt eure wohnhäuser aus beton und ziegelsteinen bauen anstatt aus holz.

  • I saw this.

  • do you not understand that we cant build it until we get money from the insurance!

  • I saw this happen; I live a few houses down the block. I feel bad for the people who lived there. However, it has been 13 months now, and they haven't returned or even started to rebuild. The house is bringing down the property value of the rest of the houses in the area.

  • Foklks - this is a training excercise... if this had been a real fire the car should have been put out properly and the owner could have sued for the slow response considering around 40 odd firefighters were there standng around in the garden discussing various dynamics of the situation.

  • Excellent training opportunity... what was with the car though... a bit of foam? Great job... superb scenario's with the roof and the wind and the breaking of the windows to create more 'draw'! It's because of training like this that we can rest in our beds knowing you guys have it covered!!

  • Thats a bad situation to be in with the strong winds! GD effort thou

  • That is a very expensive sh!tty situation.... I hope these people can afford another house.

  • my friend who lives in the neighborhood told me that the boy living there was lighting cardboard with a magnifying glass and he threw the cardboard out in the garbage in the garage, not knowing it was still lit. something like that.

  • He should have known better...

  • Does anyone know how it started. I like to try to find out how fire's are started. If it is something out of human control or if human's started the fire.

  • i was there lol

  • I think you have been watched the A-team or CHIPs too many times.

  • @the43k lol yeah, tv will get to you... gotta watch out for the magnesium explosions , thats about the most dangerous part of a car fire

  • @the43k Not tis true...petrol is quite flamable and can explode...

  • Hahaha, the cars on fire too.

  • There was a line up there, but i wasn't on it until most of the fire up there was already out. First line went into the garage right away, but as we were putting the garage out the wind spread the fire to the 2nd floor and the 2nd line went upstairs.

  • u fuckin jerk!!!!!!!! r u emo or something?? this is something i wouldnt wish on my worst enemy

  • what the hell do u mean a good fire?? is it fun to watch?? my friend lost everything!!

  • say what that was a really bad fire you should be ashamed of yourself saying that! thats not nice

  • dude that fire was so sweet and intense! but i have seen better

  • no it didn't!!

  • i didnt have time to get anything out of the house but it is not about things its about people and living things memerys no one died but the meomerys are there forever

  • ok all the people who rated this a five you are so mean to me this is my house and no one deserves to get there house burned down

  • my fucking house did not start on fire because so one played with fire it was a disaster that is my house and i hated waching it burn down dont rate my house

  • dont feel bad for me because no one died but i really was sad i know all the people in gms and cms are going to see this video so i just want to tell you i loved that house and no one should go through the pane i did when this happend

  • thats is my house! my little brother was crying so much and who ever posted this you do not have a life or some thing i lost every thing i hate that! and why did you have to film it now ever one in my school feals sry for me . ok if you had the time to film this u coulds have just put out the fire.

  • u tell em rach!!

    -ashlyn

  • to the owner of this house, if you are still reading these: I understand your pain from losing your home. People say and do some really stupid things. As a FF, I (and many others) watch these videos, not to enjoy someone elses pain but to learn and hopfuly stop someone else from losing there house/home. I hope that anyone that has "rated" this video has done so from a FF point of view for it's educational value.

  • Should've popped out the skylight that was in back of the house.

Great video that I'll add to the training and safety classes.

Foam on the car since the tire was burning. Even though the house was burning i did see 2 different firefighters try to extinguish the car, on a safety stand point there should have been one line on the car at all times.

  • i thought that vulcanized rubber didb't burn...

  • id have a crew put some water on that car.

  • pretty good coverage on this fire. The crew fails to contain extension effectivly until the very last of the video,. I am surprised that bystanders were allowed so close. I feel sad for the guy who asked why fires make youtube. This is good training video, and insurance uses this stuff as well..why watch if it bugs you... always check 4 overhead lines when shooting these fires. Also gas charged cartridges can exit bumper mounts on carfires and break you're legs, so beware....

  • why do people but shit like this on you tube?

  • looks windy outside that day... adding to a bad situation.

  • oh snap look at the car. haha nice video but it just seems funny by rating someone's housing burning down as awesome lol

  • u fuckin jerk!!!!!!!!! this is my friends house!! she lost everything she had!!!!!!!! u need a damn life!

  • hey relax i didn't rate it as awesome. i thought the video was shot well, that's all, but was funny in the sense that rating a well shot video had to be called "awesome on youtube" when what actually is going on is not awesome. i was talking about the rating system. i don't think someone's house being burned is funny at all. please don't take what i said out of context, if didn't type it clearly, sorry for the confusion. but do not call me jerk since that is clearly not what i meant.

  • well... thwn i take it back!

  • thank you. again sorry for the confusion. i have two friends that are firefighters, so I hear a lot of stories of how fires can quickly cause damage. i hope your friend is doing ok now.

  • gee This is my house Right now Im a hbo but why so many veiwers

  • how did it start then

    ?

  • I hope everyone was okay. Why did it take them so long to put the fire on the car out? Gasoline and fire don't mix-I hope it did not blow up after the video.

  • i live in that nieghborhood, i was watching, i heard that every1 got out of the house. i think the fire started in the garage. and no it did not blow up, its still in bad condition today tho..

  • A classmate of my daughter's lost their apartment due to a fire that totally destroyed the double home they were living in, and I know how devastating that can be. Just to see the looks on the family's face killed me. :( I sure hope this family is okay now and can rebuild and be happy. Sending my good thoughts!

  • I was on the initial attack line into the garage. Whatever started this fire, it spread quickly. The garage was a loss, as well as the bedrooms upstairs near it, but the kitchen and dining room were pretty much untouched except for water and smoke damage, as was the other side of the house. I am sure these folks had insurance and will be able to rebuild. In addition, some companies have photographers meant to catch the department in action, videos of fires are not that uncommon.

  • this is a girl from my school

i feel so bad 4 her

    i cant beleive it

the rumor is that the car exploded in the garage from a gas leak in the car

    is that truejrmem44?

  • Can anyone say horizontal standpipe?

  • i fought this fire... took 3 hours to completely overhaul.

  • oh my gosh! this is my friend's house. no wonder she wasnt in school.
