it is such a pity that the risk of downgrade in the last jump is sooo big. I guess It discourages anyone from trying this in competition anymore. From what I see in this attempt, everything would have counted as complete under the current system.
Anyone ones if anyone has attempted this combo in competition and been given full credit for it??
Plushenko at Cup of Russia, GPF, & Worlds (Qualifying Round), all in the 2002-03 season;
Kevin Reynolds at 2008 Canadian Nationals.
For 4T-3T-3T
Kevin van der Perren at 2010 Worlds.
These five are said to be all the 4-3-3 combos even landed in competitions.
4T-3T-3Lo is not just hard to be ratified (esp the 3Lo) but also not so rewarding due to Zayak rule, as combos must end with T or Lo but you want to repeat higher point-getting triples (3A/3Lz/3F)
@AWfan52525 Thanks for your answer! :) I already knew about plushenko in the early 2000s. I wasn't sure if anyone had been able to get a full credited 4T-3T-3L combo under the new scoring system that, as you may know, punishes jumps that look (maybe or may not be) slightly underrotated. That is why I asked.
Yeah, I realize my reply wasn't exactly answering your question :) I should've said that all three of Plushenko's were judged under the 6.0 system but Reynolds's attempt was judged under the current judging system and it was ratified with +0.33 GOE. (Skate Canada's official site has the result archives). KVDP's was ratified too with +1.20 GOE, but the third jump was 3T which is easier to fully rotate than 3Lo, so it may or may not be slightly off your concern.
What a shame that he was 28th at World in the Short this year (2010) I think its time for him to leave the US and go back to Japan to get himself together then if he wants to come back to work with a NEW coach so be it he popped all of his jumps in the short at worlds something other then being tired is going on its time for a new rink and a new coach!
@xxInternetIdiot90xx he should've got bronze AT LEAST!!! Just because of the shoe-lace he got a deduction for the fall and the problem. And the judge marked him lower after that!! HE WAS GOING TO BE PERFECT!!! GO NOBU!
One of the museums in Japan said they wanted to display Nobunari's skates next to Nobunaga's armour! :D
If it wasn't for the shoelace, he could have gotten the bronze... He lost so many points because of that - -2 deduction for interruption, -3 for the loop, lost positive GoEs and PCS... It's sort of sad that an accident like that takes away so much more points tht a 'normal' fall aused by the skater's mistake... But at least Nobu promised that he will compete in Sochi 2014! :)
AS AN AMERICAN, I MUST BACK EVAN LYSACEK, BUT, I LIKED NOBUNARI ODAS SKATING VERY MUCH, SOMETHING VERY WORM AND GOOD ABOUT HIM, I WOULD THINK HE WILL DO BIG THINGS IN THE NEAR FUTURE, I THINK HE HAS GOOD TASTE AND LOTS OF CLASS! SCOTTIEO

I can't believe that's Nobunaga Oda's descendant doing all those crazy spins.
Pretty damn good though. He almost got the bronze medal at the Vancouver Olympics, right?

That's true I can't believe he's the descendant of famous samurai. But he wasn't the 3rd at the Vancouver Olympics, but Daisuke Takahashi was.

Love your skating so much, Nobu! Please do that at Worlds next month--you'll be on the top of the podium for sure!!

Soft knee! He's so adorable. Love the charlie chaplin routine!

@wendybird33 Yes, great knees. His hair looks much better here, too, than in the short routine in which is was slicked back.
