That's all good but I have been studying Herpetology for 12 years and yes Iguanas(all species) are herbivores. There stomachs are not meant to digest fur or bone or even meat and it can cause damage to there digestive systems. Do your fucking homework!

That's very interesting behavior from this species. I wouldn't have expected him to go after the mouse so quickly, especially since he's so tame. I'm guessing he didn't eat it since it probably wouldn't taste good to him.

Some insite...If every one would do some more studying on the matter you would read that with cyclura they are not sure yet if they eat animal protein or not and some recommend giving very small amounts to them from time to time. I don't know if I would go with a mouse...but no one can say 100% for sure.

believe me I know what I am doing and have been raising this type of iggy for a long time. They can have some protein like a mouse but just not to often. He mostly gets his protein from super worms but my pac man frog wouldnt eat his mouse so I thought id see what the Rhino would do with it.

As long as he only feeds animal protien very rarely,or about 5% of diet it is 100% fine.
