There is a back story to the old man at the start of this video...he was cleared by "The Morris Tribunal" after beening framed by members of the Donegal Garda ( none of the officers in this clip where involved I must add) of having a "Mark 15 Barrack Buster bomb" on his property for use in an attack on a heavily fortified R.U.C staion.

Well handled. The old boy wouldn't have been afforded this much time in other countries. Why don't RTE show the faces and name and shame this idiots !

I think the Gardai come out fairly good from this series, a little easy handed in some cases but fair in the main.

Those Garda are patient. I would have yanked him out of the car after about ten minutes and it would have been straight to the ground and then jail.

Those Garda have a lot of patience. After about ten minutes of explaining it to the old guy I would have jerked him out of the car, put him on the ground, handcuffed him and taken him to jail.

Note how the Garda couldn't bring himself to say that auld lads think getting pissed and driving is okay. He hedged around it every way he could.

Yet the term "young people" is constantly used. One law for all, don't forget!

I thought it was just me but I agree they seem to be like your typical local country bumpkin officer - Im sure the inner city police are alot different though.
