I finally aquired a copy of this 45, and i've found that the actual speed is about 3% slower than what you've got it posted at. Either way it still doesn't sound like it comes from July 1965 but that is when the 45 was mastered....
WOW! I just checked the record and Melson & Folger did write it. The flip side is the same without the green marker. I have many D. Folger 45s but never connected the voice.

YES! I thought it was Pitney singing with Melson. Then TopshelfTom brought it to my attention it was Dan Folger, does sound just like him though.

The 2nd voice on this record was Dan Folger, who was one of Joe's closest friends, and someone Joe co-wrote many tunes with. It was not Gene Pitney.
