I have completely missed this device; OMG!!! I even sold my Ensoniq SQ80 because of the lack of control surface! I have a JD 990 so I have to buy one and test it; it's just crazy...and a well kept secret. I don't get it though how this thing can learn the parameters; does every single (older) synth send every parameter change to its Midi Out port and then they receives the same Midi data? I mean they used to say the Midi implementation on older synths (tex Rol. JX3P) sucked. Some info on this?
Like a dummy, I sold a mint-condition Alpha Juno 2 a few years ago... Now i'm struggling trying to get another lol... In the meantime, I got a Roland JX-8P 7 i've fallen in love with it... So can this Behringer BCR2000 be a substitute for the PG800 (which is the oh-so-hard-to-find programmer for the Roland JX-8P??)... From watching this, my guess is YES :-) If i'm wrong, let me know... Otherwise, i'm sold :-) THANKS GEARWIRE!!! -B
So i was trying to send sysex data from my juno to the bcr2000 but i don't seem to get the feedback on the controller whether the signal is bad or good. I do see that midi info is coming in though. any ideas?
Ha! So the BCR2000 does do sysex! This works with a Kawai K3 as well, though the values don't "wrap around" like on the alpha. I haven't gotten it to work with a Oberheim Matrix 6 yet but I think that's b/c the Matrix doesn't transmit sysex.
The BCR2000 is a god send controller. Just picked one up and it really opens up a whole new world for your synths that have no real time control options. And the aJuno-1 is a great sounding synth as well. Luckily i nabbed a MIB PG-300 for next to nothing. But i use my BCR to control the Mopho and Evolver, Nice vid =o]
i heard that this synth was used for the stab chord pattern on the 90's dance hit GRACE - NOT OVER YET... can you tell me which patch it is... think they hit a and c# on the start
So I bought an Alpha Juno 2. The presets kinda suck but after you tweak it. oh baby, this sounds great.
One complaint, I can't figure out how to make the "What the...." patch usable. At least on the Alpha Juno-2, velocity affects the pitch, making it impossible to play any melody on it.
I got you! Click on the env. tab on the right. It should be next to brilliance. Then, use the alpha dial to take the arrows on the lcd screen all the way to the left. This should give you the "charly" and "dominator" hoover.
Thanks for the vid, I'm thinking of getting one of these. Can you confirm whether or not I can use this with the keyboard whilst its being used in a softwaresequencer with midi ports being used? Does it also do everything the PG800 can do or are there limitations? Thank you.
actually, this is just about how you can use the bcr to program it. I've set it to control all of the most commonly used parameters. Honestly, it's a five minute video. do you really want me to show you how to assign all of them? Didn't think so.
again, this is about programming, not about sound. it's about how to take new technology and use it to control older existing technology you might have lying around. besides, everyone knows what the hoover sounds like, and i'm sure about 90 percent of those people really don't want to be reminded.
@gearwire I have an alpha juno and I don't know what the hoover sounds like and I never want to hear it! Thanks for the video. Its helping me decide whether to get a BCR2000 or whether to stick with the presents and just keep on lengthening the envelope and making sigur ros keys sounds ONLY. Thanks again.
Does the Alpha Juno One have slide?

@brandonelliot After some research I found I does. Do a search here for : JX8p+BCF2000
Slider version but the knob version is the same which I what im going to get. Screw the guy who wants $450 for the pg800

he who judges a synth by it's presets, does not deserve any synth's blessing

Will the BCR2000 work with a Roland D-50?

thank you very much for sharing your knowledge of using the behringer bcr 2000 with older midi keyboards like the juno 1 and 2 !!!
Now I don't have to buy my old roland pg-300 back from ebay and pay a fortune to program my old synths and new sound modules!!!
Thanks again.........

Bill, You don't need to reply to every bit of criticism. Instead keep making synth movies.

good point. I was just cleaning out the inbox.

Man this demo was bad, the alpha juno has so many parameters to control, and you just show the lfo. I guess you dont know how to programm a synth.
