  • It looks very hard, but i'll try! :D

  • your bare feet remind me of nicko's!!!!!

  • That snare sounds so clear

  • @BuckerzZ14 It is a Yamaha SD493. Its a fantastic drum and I still use it today. They can be hard to get your hands on these days though

  • cool imma try it at church lol

  • i LOVE your snare sound!

  • thanks =D

  • is it the heel first, then the toes?

  • I see your caricature painting.

  • heel toe technique ftw

  • I have always burried my beater. I like the sound it gives.

  • You have sexy feet :P

  • lol whats up with the voice change at 0:50

  • DAMN THESE MASSIVE FEET !!!!!

  • Someone plz help I have a tama rockstar I'm a begginer but wen I use my foot pedal it always moves

  • @dolphinjr98 there should be spikes connected to the pedal. make sure your drums are on top of carpet not concret. the spikes will get more leverage when used on carpet. and make sure your pedal is properly mounted on the bass drum.

  • i have the same pedal as you and my foot is too big for this method their size 12 1/2. Lol guess I'm just gonna have to suck it up and get the slide method down.

  • thanks man i needed that!

  • damn how long have you been playing .. this some pro stuff

  • @luchiehanna100 its really not. its simple heel - toe method. my foot is too big for my pedals to do it all the time but i can easily do this. you dont even need heel toe to do this. you can play heel up, heel down, slide technique, and many more

  • Sparky Award ftw! aha (on the wall)

  • Dude thanks. This helped soo much!! I'm beast at drums now. Haha

  • thank U so much! this really helped

  • you have very small feet. XD

  • Good stuff.

  • thank u so much :))

  • Thanks a lot, I'm a pretty good drummer myself but I just gotta master that technique and I'll be good to go

  • My cock was touching the pedal..

  • my foots to big ! D:

  • "Whatever works for you" Words of wisdom from a young drummer. Right On.

  • very humble attitude bro, ur awesome

  • Yeah i bet it is harder to do with shoes on. Especially size fifteens, I don't believe TAMA makes an XL pedal. I guess i will stick with my double pedal.

  • dude, you are so awesome this helped me so much, you have inspired me.

  • Thanks for the video. Do you always play bear-footed? :)

  • hey thanks for sharing! Very helpful!! :)

  • its hard cause i have big foot lol

  • this really helped. you explained it better than most drum teachers imo

  • nice i have the same pedal!

  • I do this as well but it is harder with shoes on, (I wear socks, I find my foot slides into that position easier when you want doubles and slides back when you want the middle of the pedal for power. Great demo video to show people how it is done. It is "heal toe method", pretty much.

  • that beat was funky as hell good shit

  • @llPurpleHazell Thanks haha

  • nice foot

  • it kinda hard i get it but its to hard but i wont give up

  • mate very helpful and cheers for doin it abit slower so every one can see :-) cheers man !!

  • @marlsmat Thanks a bunch man! Glad I could help!

  • interesting, thanks!

  • Your burying the beater, bring the pedal back after every time you hit the kick drum so you make it a little easier on your body and it gives the kick a better sound, but other than that good!

  • @poppadocs420 I made this video 2 and a half years ago, and I definitely was burying my beater. I've since changed that for most of my playing. When I bury my beater now, its intentionally for a musical reason. Thanks for the positive feedback though!

  • @poppadocs420 Bury the beater or don't bury the beater. That "do not bury the beater stuff has always bugged me". Why should that be a "rule" . Like anyone listenting to a song or drums would be like " That would be really good if the drummer would just ease up on burying the pedal because that bass drum is just not ringing enough".

  • if you're into this, then check out the Brett Ridler Double Kick Action video. it puts a whole new spin on this kind of thing.

  • Good technique, even better attitude. Nice vid

  • @PaulHoughSr Thanks very much!

  • Thanks, this helped me alot! Athough i play doublebass, its cool to know how to do doubles with a single pedal :)

  • cool! ;) but I think you don't have much volume this way

  • it is not suitable for those who have big feet

  • i use a technique wear my foot slide forward on the second hit of the bass drum

  • @tisBenG It's called the slide technique. Love it.

  • @TContla oh, cool i never picked it up off anyone i just did it myself. it felt natural.

  • I use the same method too. Using the P-120P single pedal.

  • Cobra all the way

  • hey, i was wondering if this pedal has a light head, light enough to be able to drum fast, and a nice sound that comes from it when it strikes the head of the drum, and requires almost no work to use for when i'm trying to play fast. because i'm looking for a bass drum pedal that i can get that falls in these areas.

  • I tried doing this but my foot is too big lol

  • I tried doing this but my foot is too big lol

  • I tried doing this but my foot is too big lol

  • that is not heal to toe tecnique , if u use shoes and a bigger feat u cant use that tecnique the real heal toe tecnique is not HEAL toe literaly u should check the version of free drum lessons

  • Hey that was cool, the way you broke it down. I am about to try it and let you know how it works for me

  • @Vmanfresh i think then ud need a double bass.... unless uve got amazing stamina

  • thanks bro...i learn it from u.....

  • thanks bro...i learn it from u...

  • nice job

  • very well explained man!!

    thanks!!

  • this may sound stupid but can u get bigger pedals? cos i tried this technique and i could almost get it going but ive got size 13 feet and if i tried and get my heel on there im pretty much wraping my toes around the chain

  • the trick is called the heel toe technique

  • hey man, i have huge feet! my foot like takes up the whole pedal so i have no idea what to do! xD how you any suggestions? thanks

  • @rupitinisocks buy longboards pedal

  • what shoe size are you?

  • I'm a size 12.5 there's no way I can do heal toe on my Iron Cobras lol even without the toe stop. so it's slide technique for me.

  • @ThrowingItAway i didnt know you could remove those

  • @wudgeypudger yeah you can. they just unscrew from the bottom. and that guy is probably a size 8-9

  • @ThrowingItAway k thanks

  • thing is you have small feet, i have huge feet, size 13's so that wont work for me

  • big toe is staring at me :0

  • DeathAdmin... Thanx and I'll Checc them out...

  • Great... But wat if you have big feet that your heal doesn't fit enough to mash the pedal??

  • @datank15 They have longer pedals. Chris Adler (Lamb of God) uses them. They're called Trick PRO 1-V "Bigfoot" Pedals. Check em out.

  • Great technique & vid. I use Tama gear & think its some of the best on the market but I use a Trick Big Foot pedal which is simply amazing for balance & speed. Your style would suit this.

  • Be careful with your toes so far up, I used to do that and it discretely kills the pedal because your foot is prone to be smashing against the two vertical pieces. Mine actually broke at the weld, and Tama wouldn't include it in the warranty, because to get your toe that far up on an Iron Cobra you have to remove the little toe plate that is held on with a drum key screw. Even though it's a removable part it voids the warranty if your break is right there. Apparently it happens frequently.

  • 1: "stomp"

    2: toes

    best technique for doubles

  • Thanks MAN!! now i can show off with my friends w/o using double peds ;-D..though it's kinda hard to learn.haha!

  • Do you play with your beater fully extended? And what's your spring tension?

  • i do straight up doubles man no foot technique just heel down or heel up no sliding or any other way i think that's"cheating" actually

    good video man i

  • @Skiddymushroom Hel toe isn't cheating, its just a different technique. I actually think heel toe is the best technique for doubles.

  • i do straight up doubles man no foot technique just heel down or heel up no sliding or any other way i think that's"cheating" actually

  • I learned this kinda quick... But, i need a bigger pedal to master this ;D

  • Thanks a lot man, this was hard to figure out on my own :)

One question though - in a beat, are the doubles suposed to be 16th notes?

  • too bad you can't put your whole foot on the pedal when you have size 15 feet.

  • you dont prefer a pillow with your emad?

How tense is the springs for your IC, I just bought one and cant get any power on it.

  • those are triplets u are doing my friend

  • wow thx for sharing

  • Spikeydrummer has an amazing drum lesson channel and I would recommend it to any beginner or intermediate player. Even some advanced players. He's a great teacher

  • @squibcake505 can you send me a link for Spikeydrummer's double bass video?

  • @squibcake505 heck yah ths like my teacher man

  • Can you post a video in how you do your double with drum fills?

  • Of Course! Give me a few days and I will get that up for you. In the meantime check out drummers like Derico Watson, Dennis Chambers, John Bonham, or any of the Gospel Chops drummers. They are all known for doing really fast doubles with one foot and they all use them in their fills and playing

  • great tips! ! thanks! rock on!

  • I think that the two strokes are different in terms of strenght

  • Very true. I've gotten much better at doubles, but getting the two strokes to be equal strength is always a difficult thing and I still work on it

  • This is sick, but I am a size 13 shoe so, this dosn't work for me.

  • Sorry man, like I said, it works for me, and its only one way to play doubles. Try a sliding technique or even kicking out your heel to see if it works better

  • the resort is too tense!!!

  • ...i cant do that...

    hoooohhhhhhh!!!

force myself to that dude tnx!!

  • AKA HEEL TOE

  • yes it basically is heel toe. I posted almost two years ago and I wasn't as well informed as a drummer. It has a few differences that are personal preferences. I just got lucky that I made a halfway decent video

  • Nice Tip Dude!

  • those are trippltes that he is doing not double

  • nice heel toe

  • nice vid. well done.

  • Thank You very much! I really appreciate it

  • I used to play it from the ankle, but now i use the top of the foot with the heel raised. however i do use play from the ankle when doing constant doubles it's just a tad more comfortable.

  • I've started doing a similar thing as well. Its more comfortable and as far as endurance goes it works better

  • I'll give that a go ! Nice one.

  • what if your feet is bigger than the pedal

  • @harriet81978 then you sir have a big wiener....

  • i have that problem =.=

  • its basicly heal toe

  • Hey mate, good job! Keep it up and coming!

  • Thanks a bunch!

  • What spring tension would you recommend for this? Medium?

  • spring tension is almost always just personal preference

  • @TheSpeedoTorpedo heels is up is wat i do it works the best cuz honestly heel toe is really fucking choppy, but us big footers we use heel up, :) btw i can still play doubles with heel up one foot. :)

  • good video...better than i can do! one thing, you are using the ball of your foot and pressing almost in the middle of the pedal...and it works....but it's the same leverage point as most drummers use so what works best for most works best for you too...all good

  • yeah but you dont wear size 13......

  • oh fuck! just clean ur nail..

  • Keep it up and Keep posting some more video's on this technique!

  • i dont get it...especially on the heel and toe part >_>

  • really good technique. i cant do it yet but im workin on it.

  • is that a power glide pedal?

  • Its a Tama Iron Cobra, but it is an earlier model from a few years ago so it doesn't have the Cobra Coil

  • @squibcake505 same pedal as i use! :D

  • thanks it really works

i started not too long ago but you know anythin to help keeping a beat with the drums and making a different beat with your bass pedal??? if that makes any sense lol

  • you're fit - and you play well too! thanks for the tip - i'll try it asap!

  • how is your pedal set when it comes to spring tension and beater or petal angle?

  • iron cobra...

  • SICK

  • gago

  • Put some shoes on, twat.

  • lol you said twat

  • lol you said you said twat

  • hi twat =]

  • lol you said you said you said twat

  • now thats a cool little trick but the question is how long can you keep a constant beat?

  • Wanna good endurace exercise for that? Play good times bad times of led zepelling

  • Wanna grammar lesson? Try learning to spell Led Zeppelin.

  • So I can get an english teacher online by only posting on youtube? Wow that's great I suppose the teacher it's available whenever I want since he/she has the time to post non helpful hater comments. Thanks kiddo I keep the lessons in mind, but an agresive teacher it's pretty useless to me. And by the way, lo siento pero no hablo inglés como primer idioma además de hablar francés, japonés e inglés mi lengua natal es el español, perdón si mi ortografía no es la correcta en todas. Suerte.

  • Ok, for the record, Led Zeppelin is spelled the same in all languages because it's a FUCKING BAND NAME! No matter what country you buy the record in, it's gonna say "Led Zeppelin" on it, spelled like that, not "led zepelling".

And kid, half of us took spanish in high school, ok? You're not special :)

  • Este si nomás que es mi lengua natal soy de México guey pense que lo habías entendido, yeah thanks for wasting my time didn't have to go to the shrink to know i'm not special in a six billion people world. Thanks for wasting my time again :)

  • Doesn't matter where you're from, Led Zeppelin is still Led Zeppelin. And why don't you say "thanks for wasting my time" again? If you represent Mexico, I'm sure they've already turned their back on you, so they won't be taken as a bunch of ignorant idiots who can't even spell.

  • only with the heel toe tech is u need a longboard pedal otherwise its rly fukin hard to use a normal

  • Great video!

  • Awesome!!

  • hey dude..........ur so great..,,,,,,,,

  • thx man andf it works 5*

  • typo error : ...I watched this video ... :D

  • That looks so kool .. Haven't tried as of now.. cos i was watched this video late night and I so wanna try it right away but.. dont wanna get thrown out by my neighbours..Umm .. I am a newbie and trying to learn as much as i can from experts like u .. can u share one fact about pedals.. esp in this case.. will tightening up the spring would help or losening up more. .. physics say tighten up to bounce back .. but i need your suggestion..

  • Personally i find a looser spring and a pretty tight base drum skin to be the best way to do it. I've never played heel toe though (i just play heel down to do doubles) so i don't know what it would be like with that technique

  • ye i do exactli the same it works well 4 me..

  • in my case i have big feet , am i screwed?

  • it works and is easy...5/5

  • I saw a doble bass pedal that works like that

  • sonor giant step
