  • HOW come you don't own COM LAG?? is like, Radiohead's most epic B-side hehe

  • i didnt know that you had a tutorial for this and the tab i read said i have to tune up mi G to A and now my string just gone..i could be unhappyer

  • Tabs are as reliable as the people writing them. But if you really think about it, since music is what you hear, isn't it better to learn music by ear? Find a good teacher who will help you train your ear and teach you music theory. I do lessons over Skype if you are interested. Just add me: warrenlain

  • @warrenmusic sorry for my language mistakes i was angry

  • Love it man. You're a genius.

  • You should add the tableture to your description :)

  • "But I still wanna do Radiohead y'know? Because Radiohead makes me look good" - You are my favorite person on YouTube. Keep up the insanity

  • Warren is the best. I have gone through so much of his youtube video and I'm just totally amazed by it all. I'm going to pick up an acoustic guitar soon and you betcha I'm going to go straight to Warren for a lesson.

  • You Are Epic. Your the best.

  • you're great!

  • drop d capo 1st fret...A cord based... easier

  • @dmbfancb Yeah, but then you can't do Thom's chord voicings or phrasings (slides, hammer-ons, or pull-offs). To each his own, though.

  • @dmbfancb i'd say this is a lot easier to play

  • @dmbfancb Thank you, i just tried the drop d version. Same sound and much easier. Not to take anything away from the other version...

  • @darkhorse008 no problem, the capo 1 version is just easier for me to tune to cause i'm too afraid of my strings breaking from the tension or lack there of. But Warren's version definitely sounds way better but he's also the man lol

  • @dmbfancb

Man, this is easy enough already, why make it easier?

  • cual es tu correo

  • How on Earth did you figure this out?

  • @ChablesMan I figure everything out by ear, and when available, I check out videos of live performances. Watching the fingers and relying on my ear-training and grasp of music theory help make the tuning more of a logic puzzle than a guess.

  • @warrenmusic You, sir, are a genius.

  • YOU ARE AWESOME, BUDDY. Thanks for this video. I'm going to release a video of me playing it.

  • Really having trouble with this tuning. Any pointers for getting it right? It seems like I could manage the song if the tuning was on.

  • @reusablecatmilk I just put it in the video description. And you can match it by ear to the video before you capo it at 1:24. If you are having trouble with that, get a chromatic tuner or a friend who can tune by ear. Other than that, sorry can't help you!

  • @warrenmusic Ok thanks. I have a tuner it just doesnt sound quite right yet, but thanks I'll keep working at it

  • Fuck, i thought that there were 2 guitars!!!!!! Thanks.

  • Thanks allot Warren! I was just about to teach myself and i found your video and it made it go way faster! I have the fingering down but the strumming in this song is a killer, it will take me a few days haha.

    THANKS AGAIN!

  • @Czotie

    listen to the song ALOT

    it will help

    :]

  • @zadyboy i listen to this song nonstop haha. It took me a few days but i got it! :D

  • keep the tutorials coming man I learned so much my first time watching awesome

  • it would be cool to get a better view of the neck

  • hey warren, im also a huge radiohead fan, and i want to thank you for the great pleasure you gave to me with all of your songs (i really like the reckoner version)

    thanks, my friend

  • warren, your radiohead tutorial are the best :)

but it's seem to be more difficult to play for me...

  • thanks warren.. I love this song

  • Thank you so much!

  • anyone else think the tuning without the capo sounds like radiohead's cover of the smiths' 'the headmaster ritual?' yes? no?

    1:19

  • Warren. Well done. VERY helpful. You're a fine teacher.

  • thanks for this

  • Helpful as always Warren!

  • really helpfull ty so much warren ;)

  • helpful*

  • Man, these tutorials are so helpful! I hope you realize they are much appreciated! I wish you would explain the right hand a little more though!

  • aaaaand I have now subscribed. great tutorial, thank you

  • and thanks twice in a row, i've got this nailed!

  • hey man, thanks for this. If anyone follows the tuning, they can basically figure it out from there. I'm amazed at how easy this song is to me now, I've been playing it transposed in E (ask me how...)

  • Hey what's the last chord? x04030? and if so, wouldn't it be the same thing to leave the b string open and just hit that with the open d (formerly high e) since it's the same note as the 3rd fret on the b string. Unless it's just to get the hammer-on effect on the b string....

  • Very cool! Thanks a million!

  • very nice, thanks for posting this

  • thank you.

  • youre really the only one on yootube who managed to get the picking right. good stuff! thanks for the tutorial :D

  • no entiendo mucho ingles

  • quiero un tab comlpeto porfavor

  • Warren is a Legend!

  • How in the hell can I manage the tempo on this song? I can never get the little riff at the right time. Any pointers on how to count it out?

  • Very talented guitarist.

  • fucking hell this is spot on, lovely guitar sound as well

  • thanks

  • B-side from Go to Sleep.

  • this is awesome man and really helpfull. but i just cant get the right hand stuff to sound how i want. a tab would be helpful or any tips would be greatly appreciated as well.

  • excellent! thanks a lot

  • wuv woo

  • warren, i don't know you, but you feel like a friend now. that is one of my favorite songs and you are so kind and benevolent to share your expertise. thank you X a million.

  • I did it similar but your tutorial definitely improved my performance of this sweet and beautiful song. Thanks a lot!

  • Nice, but I wish I would see your fingers more frequently...

  • very nicely done!!

  • Really good job. I love the tuning used, its such a beautiful song.

It was one of those back catalogue songs I'd forgotten about but I was listening to the Jaydiohead mash up version earlier and thought "I should learn to play that!" This has certainly saved me the job of tabbing it myself. Cheers.

  • thanks mate, excellent explanation. Very clear. Ive seen an awful lot of tabs for this tune that are far harder to play as people try to keep it in standard tuning.

  • can u plaese explain the tune agian?

  • It's CGCGBD from top to bottom.

  • appreciate you taking the time to go through it well. It helped

  • thanks !

  • you're so cool it's crazy. thanks bunches.

  • thanks warren.

  • thanks a lot man, ive learned much from you

  • If you want to find this song it's a B-Side off of Com Lag 2+2=5.

    Nice job!

  • You're great man! I only dropped the 6th string to D with capo on 1st fret. It kinda sounds, but I've got to admit your way sounds richier. Congratulations!

  • is the pull off on the old d string or the old a string?

  • i love your videos... what i'd really love is if you could play the entire song, a cover along with the tutorial like with There There... thanks for the vids

  • wow fantastic work dude, spot on and sounds wonderful. thanks a bunch! going to see radiohead next week in osaka, can't wait!

  • Nice job man. This is on my to do list. How in the world do you figure out that it takes an alternate tuning with a capo on the 3rd fret? I'm jealous of your ears.

  • it was tough, but yeah, i enjoyed figuring this one out

  • Hey Warren, thanks for the spot-on transcription/lesson. Can't wait to try it out!

I just saw Radiohead recently for the third time... still the best live band I've ever seen.

Peace, and keep up the good work.

  • great aportation¡

    un abrazo desde mexico¡

  • Hi have been watching your Radiohead lessons which are spot on and have taught me alot, very nice work. I was wondering if their would be any chance of you doing the Doors The End guitar tutorial have noticed that noone on the internet has a clue how to play it and it is too subtle a piece for me to work out (have been trying to learn it for five years lol). Would be amazing if you could... Its in DADGAD tuning (although no one else seems to realise this) that i know for sure cheers anyway

  • Warren. Awesome. Give me a call if you ever in UK.

    Have a Jam.

    CC

  • Cool, thank you. I think I'll learn this one tonight.

  • You really should buy Com Lag, that and I MIght Be Wrong Live Recordings are amazing as live albums.

  • Soooo smooth dude. I've gotten to the point where I can make it sound pretty good but you are the man. Feel the love!

You will not be dissapointed in the Radiohead show dude. It is the best production quality I have seen ever for a touring band. The lighting is PHENOMENAL!

Saw them at Nissan in VA, in a deluge of rain which caused road closures and ALOT of people missed the show, but they were awesome. Going to see them in Camden, NJ as well.

  • i hope you know how awesome you are for posting a tutorial for this song! keep up the amazing work. right now im working on your tuts for faust and reckoner.

i also hope you got to see them tour this time round. they were AWESOME.

  • i'm going to the SF outside lands festival... should be awesome! my first radiohead show...

  • i went to see them in houston and dallas. houston was my first time to see them as well... it was incredible. to end the night in dallas they played about a 10 minute version of paranoid android... i swear i almost had a seizure.

enjoy yourself! camp out and get amazing an amazing spot. i wish i could see them again (will probably be another 6 years before they tour again!)

  • the sound wasn't loud enough where i was standing and the sound cut out twice :(

but i was still honored to see the best band in the world. the light show was unbelievable.

  • Hey,

This and every video you've posted are really great and accurate, thanks a lot.

I was wondering if somewhere down the line you could do a tutorial on either Go To Sleep or There There. Both of 'em are off of Hail to the Thief.

And if you plan on doing Jigsaw Falling Into Place I'm pretty sure the tuning is DADF#BD, just to help ya out ;). I could be wrong though.

  • The tuning was right on... thanks. The tuning gave me the momentum to figure it out.

  • There There isn't actually as diffuclt as you'd expect it to be. if you want the chords/tabs just message me ;)

  • you are the best, i will try reckoner, but this it's a litlle complicated song.

  • you dont really need to do all that just put a capo on the 6th fret and the chord you will be using is an E and variations of it with standerd tuning

  • yeah, i appreciate the concept of transposition, but that wouldn't be accurate at all... it sounds completely different (hammer-ons and pull-offs would be all wrong)! you don't get to be thom yorke by thinking inside the box!

  • well i agree that thinking out of the box is great but there is a difference with innovation and unnecessarily tuning the guitar that way. I does sound right both ways if you manipulate the chords correctly but by putting the capo there and if you perform the song live you wont need to tune the guitar like that on stage. It may not be exactly what Yorke does but its an efficient way of preforming it live.

  • sorry, i just hear too many differences between playing it in standard and playing it this way.

  • you are amazing!!!!

    you should do paranoid android

that would be a big help

  • AWESOME!!!...the only problem is I'm way too lazy to keep tuning and retuning my guitar to all these cockamamie tunings thom likes...I guess I'll need to get a gagging order only guitar that I leave at that tuning, hm....

anyway, keep up the great work!

  • while you're at it, get me one too

  • np man, I was thinking one of the fine plastic? guitars on ebay, one whole penny... you want yours in electric blue or a green which goes beyond words?

Being more serious...you should move to the east coast and be my guitar teacher. (unfortunately I can't pay for relocation)

  • you're the man warren thanks!

  • Nice playing, man

and do my eyes decive me or is that a Larrivee?

  • it is indeed a larrivee... om-02 with an iMix, bone nut and saddle, ebony bridge pins, and a fretjob

  • bro keep it up with the radiohead

    this is helpful

  • Thanx Warren ... always great tutorials of my favourite band ...

  • can you do "more than words"?

    great job again buddy...

  • hahahaha that is a resounding "NO"

  • He is a great fingerpicker. I'd like to hear more of it.

I'm going to watch this to try to learn it now. I enjoy your tutorials, more people should check them out. (Especially before they post their own interpretation)

  • If I close my eyes, I can hear Thom playing!

  • Very good, as usually! Thanks you for sharing your tastes and talent to us, lil' guitar noobies. :o)

  • Great as always. You gotta do one for "There There"!!!

  • Thanks again!!! where you been

  • pure class!!!

  • Legend!

  • nice one!!!!!!!!

  • Fantastic! i wish you were my guitar teacher but I'm in the UK. Cheers!!

  • awesome! I've been itching to learn how to play this for some time. Thanks!
