My guinea pigs identify us and will talk to us. My dad feeds them hay so when he gets home they yell for him. They know I take them out to play so they start bobbing their heads. I love my babies, I have an edited video on my channel I filmed for my class.

@pandzik thank you. i'm still very sad. she was five, had been declining in health, but was still fighting every step of the way. she was a tough little guinea. she went quick. was chomping her cage a couple hours before i found her seriously failing. woke my b/f up to say guinea (reeses, she was black and brown, like a reeses) was dying, and we hugged her and kissed her and pet her over the next few minutes while she passed. she lived a full life, and went quick.

Thats always the crap with the Guinea Pigs, either they have nothin (mabe some mites) or they just fuckin die. Since 2000, I had 6 Guineas and three just died like Pigs. On died from one on the other Day, its was only 3 Mths old. Not even the Vet could say what it was. It was horrible. The oldest was 6.5 Years.

He looks so happy!!!!!I feel ur pain had my dog put down after 15 years it would have been 16 on Boxing Day cause that was her birthday we had her put down cause she was in bad health but my parents didn't want her to suffer so she was put down and I was told by my mum before she was put down she stopped outside the room where the vet was and my mum then had to carry her in but at least we still have our fairly new dog Fudge check out my tribute to my dog(by the way she did not live in a cage).

Oh gosh, It's July 25th, 2010, we lost Creme yesterday, so I feel ur pain. I was crying all day. We don't quite know why she died, we just know that the last two days she was sickly, I said to take her to the vet, but there's not many guinea pig vets in our area and my mom thought it was just something minor and also the vet probably wouldn't do any good anyhow. I think it must have been internal, her eyes were bright and free of discharge, her nose wasn't runny, she was just panting a lot.

Actually the average is much higher as they can live to 10 years. Hamsters have the lifespan of 1-2 years, while piggies have the average of 5.5 -7 years.
