@testiclecrusher2 The CBT that I learned taught me how the brain works through things like operant conditioning, neural plasticity, etc. So, if I had to find the silver lining of that horrid experience it would be finding out how the brain works and how to practically erase anxiety from ones life quickly and easily without the use of drugs. I am the kind of person where when I am given a problem, I need to find the answer. That's exactly what I did and I help people with that firsthand knowledge

There is nothing to be afraid of, the individual is not dodging a bullet, running from a bear, or maneuvering a car to avoid a fatal accident. These are legitimate fears and the adrenaline release is used to a specific end, but fear OF the sensations of fear itself is anxiety. That is what I experienced. Just a kind of unease without rhyme or reason

Through my research I found that people who develop anxiety and panic type conditions are already really good at focusing their attention on things to the point of ABSORPTION. If you just sit there for a second, close your eyes and think of a dinosaur, it becomes more a more "actual" in the mind. For a person who has done Jimson, this process happens REALLY FAST and they may be able to relate to what I'm saying, but again it all depends on the individual.

I have experienced mild effects (mild delirium and visual distortion) merely through skin absorption by picking the spent flowers off of the big datura in my backyard - I don't find the effects particularly useful for self-exploration and infinitely prefer the classic psychedelics such as psilocybin, mescaline and LSD. Avoid this plant and her relatives - they are way too risky.

@testiclecrusher2 For me the way of "coming to grips" with this was through shifting my attention away from the mere fact of thoughts 'actualizing' themselves faster than usual into much more creative acts. If you just sit there for a second, close your eyes and think of a dinosaur, it becomes more a more "actual" in the mind. For a person who has done Jimson, this process happens REALLY FAST and they may be able to relate to what I'm saying, but again it all depends on the individual.

I tripped out for more than 3 days, time seemed to slowed down or not pass (as usual but more so), my heart rate was fast but when I tried to sleep my heart-beat stopped so I had to stay up for hours and remember to breathe I also couldn't sleep because I would feel pins-and-needles everywhere even lying my head anywhere would trigger a feeling of anxiety. I had to detox.

The only reason I suffered anxiety was b/c I was alone in the house, with not much food and I didn't want to blackout, if I had food to eat my blood pressure would have lowered. My mistake was that I panicked when I exp. time freezing, I now know this was a concious sign and that Buddhists exp. this while meditating and is normal.

I was just in Salinas,CA and found a BUNCH of jimson weed growing wild, but didn't know what it was. I thought it was just such a beautiful and unique plant that I took a cutting with one of the seed pods attached. Started doing internet searches using key words to describe the plant. Found out, sadly, it's highly poisonous to animals, so I had to toss it. Pity. Otherwise, I would have planted the seeds all around my yard.

It literally makes you stop producing any saliva at all. If you take more than that, the effects start to include vertigo, inability to percieve, seizures, and hallucinations. After the trip you will be temporarily farsighted as well. Very unpleasurable in large amounts, as well as dangerous.

I would NOT recommend this! But obviously, you all are going to do whatever you want. Just be aware that it's really hard to determine the true toxicity of the plant source. Lots of variables. The kid who died obviously misjudged his dosage. It happens. And if you go to the hospital, and yes, there's a pretty strong likelihood that you will (especially if your sole reason for trying it is because Inside Edition told you not to), then you need to be given physostigmine to counteract the effects.

I took 2 pods or 200-400 seeds , at first my vision got real blurry,later i noticed my throaght was starting to close up. My depth perception was out of wack , as a result I would miss chairs , spill my water(which i was constantly drinking because of my throught closing up. I have experienced mild effects (mild delirium and visual distortion) merely through skin absorption by picking the spent flowers off of the big datura in my backyard - I don't find the effects particularly useful for self-exploration and infinitely prefer the classic psychedelics such as psilocybin, mescaline and LSD. Avoid this plant and her relatives - they are way too risky.

I'm old, 58. My grandmother was born in 1893. She lost a baby sister around 1900 from jimson weed poisoning. I live in the midwest where it grows wild along the side of the road. Every decade or so some dumb ass teenagers think they're tough enough to try it and every decade or so a couple end up in the emergency room or dead.
It ain't worth messing with. I know my grandma lived 98 years wishing she had watched her baby sister a little closer that day.
