  • Did this in year one? :0 im in year one and we havent started making this stuff! haha

  • How do you get the atmosphere of the sea?

  • @spinydelta1- I just used a sphere with a ramp texture on it as an environment and put an area light above the main hall.

  • i seriously want to take lessions in school for 3ds max now...i want to make rapture and have a big daddy making his way out into the ocean and such....this is just wow...you seriously got me wanting to learn now. thanks ^w^

  • wow...fucking amazing...

  • good job felt like i was in rapture again...

  • This is amazing! It really is..

  • Well done!

  • oh can you tell me what grade you got for your 3d applications?

  • A 15 I think

  • haha good going for 10 hours of rendering :D

Im currently doing the course and on my 1st year. for semester two 3d apps i'm doing the interior of the Normandy ship from Mass effect :D

  • very, very nicely done. Sigh... I am soo bad at lighting...

  • beautiful work my friend.Keep it up!

  • Hats off to you man.. no joke, this is amazing..

I know that its hard to do these, but please make some more..

  • It seriously looks very similar to the Unreal 3 engine.

  • can you please tell me where can i get meshes and models

  • I'm the only one who has them, since I made them myself in 3DS Max for a University project. Theres probably a way of getting the actual meshes from Bioshock itself (which are better than my versions) but I don't know how to do that.

  • one more question how did u make the water

  • The water's just a plane with a material (with a dark grey-green colour, 5% opacity, reflection and refraction enabled)and noise texture added to the bump map. To make it ripple just stick "Auto Key" on, go to first frame of the animation, then go to the niose paramters of the bump map and set a value for the "Phase" parameter. Move to another frame of the animation and change this Phase value again. The texture will now animate over time to look like rippling water. Hope this helps :)

  • What lights did you use in this vid?

Ps: you inspired me to give it a try

  • Cool, I used a combination of Standard and Photometric lights (Photometric "Halogen" lights for the lamps and Standard Spot/ Directional lights for light from the sea. I pointed standard lights at the walls to simulate radiosity.

  • Hi can i ask where you got the textures from?

  • They were all made by me from scratch using Photoshop and 3DS Max shaders. I just copied the look of some of the in-game textures like the floor, stairs and walls and made seperate colour, bump and specular maps for each one. The movie posters and adverts on the walls are just the original ones that I've stuck in directly though.

  • Brilliant, well done.

  • Absolutely excellent!

  • Did you make this? This is great, five stars for sure! It looks exactly like Rapture city. How did you make it? Thanks for posting it as a video response! =D

  • Hi, thanks for the rating I made this from scratch in 3ds max 7 (most of my animations are made in this now) for a University project. I based the designs on the Fort Frolic level but minus all the flashy neon cos I dont know how to make that. The textures for the wall and floors are based off the ones in the game and painfully recreated by me in Photoshop :)

  • That is so amazing. I could never do something like that - It's hard enough to make my own movies. =D

  • This really is amazing. Fantastic job! It looks so much like in the game!

  • this is mint 5*

  • FIVE STARS, awesome work.

  • Terrific!!!!!! 5 stars goes to you my friend!
