thats not how you pve fit a nightmare. "Gank is your tank" when using a nightmare for pve,(youll run missions soooo much faster.

Lows:3-4navy heatsinks, 1-2 Tracking enhancers

Mids:4 mission specific hardeners, 2 Pith B type small shield boosters, 1 cap recharger

(Shield boosters above are open to debate)

highs:4 tach II with navy multis, utility highs to taste. I usually go with 1 drone link, and 1 auto targeter II

Full 5% damge implant set is nice, as are crystals.

I've got a 4 bil fitting :D

Highs: 4x Mega Pulse Laser IIs, Imperial Navy Multi, Drone Link Augmentor and a NOS (no idea what else I should fit)

Mids: Pith X-Type X-Large booster, 3 X-Type hardeners, 100mn AB II and an officer webber.

lows: 3 Imperial Navy Heat Sinks and 2 Tracking Enhancers.

@j0ker79kil you obviously have no frame of reference at all - CN ravens are quite good at tanking. NM could win, if the setups are right, but just by looking at the crystals he's using here I can tell this is (in pvp terms) a shit fit.

A nightmare for pvp is actually something smart to do because the nightmare is worth over 1 bill isk or pretty close to it. It makes a wicked mission ships if fitted right and right skills it can do most level 5s solo

@labartic Nightmares are a billion isk a pop. armageddons are 50 mil on pop, with 100% return if platinum insured. damage potential is approximately the same. Nightmares are more mobile and maybe a little more tanky. You're also talking about enough ISK to build an outpost instead, you know ^^

Quick check with EFT using alll lvl V and t2 bulk tanks with t1 rigs on both ships:

NM (2x LSE, 2x INVUL, 1x DC, Extender rigs)

135k EHP

Geddon (2x Rolled tungsten, 2x EANM, 1x DC, Trimarks)

115k EHP

Yeah, that's what I mean by a little more tanky. Of course the NM does way better at active tanking than the geddon, but we're talking a scenario where they are under fire from more than half a dusin hostiles in any fight that will pressure either ship. Thus, not at all isk efficient.

Dame I so want a Nigtmare the DPS is stupid 100 % bouns to damage 7.5 % bonus per skill level, my currnent Apoc Battleship dishes out 4000 Damage on average even to Fully tanked Drakes and Ravens-man i cant wait XD

the abaddon can reach the same damage, nightmare has 4 guns with 100% bonus, so 8 effective guns, +25% damage with BS 5, so 10 effective turrets. abaddon has 8 guns, and 25% damage bonus at BS 5, but the abaddon is harder to fit 8 tachyons and still maintain a tank after damage mods

Yes a Nightmare can Solo Level 5 missions with propper skills and fittings im not even going to sugest the DPS of on as i have no real clue as to its limits all i can say is that IT ROCKS!!!!

@lilsnake1 Properly fit, the Nightmare is.. well.. a nightmare. That ship can fit a tank AND have DPS to spare. If this ship were PVP fit, it wouldn't have been a fair fight for the CNR. The Nightmare would have torn through those shields like they weren't even there.

Faction ships are dodgy. Some are awesome for PVP. Most are novelties.

lol i was in the nightmare :P my mate was in the CNR, yeah my cap on the nightmare was bollox'd abit didnt have my heavy cap booster fitted, slapped a passive cap recharager in instead, just for the lols really, would of been a fair fight otherwise :P

Looks like he was using beam weapons, assuming he didn't have a webifier. Orbiting him at 1km would have made him miss you every time with no effect on your DPS. Also since you are in a raven range is your friend. Although it looks like capacitor is your enemy currently lol.

the nightmare won, CNR bombed out just before the nightmare did, wasnt officer fit or anything snazzy, plus the lack of cap booster, was a very close fight, he dropped to armour just before i did, say 30 secs after him
