Hello! I'm terribly sorry, I can't upload Nireno's aria specifically - the source discs keep giving me many technical problems for some reason. However, have been able to put up the Cornelia-Sesto duet (only an excerpt, not complete aria, again due to tech problems).

I caught the Chicago staging of this version as well, on opening night, with a packed house. Wasn't it simply fabulous?

Oh, I guarantee that you won't regret your purchase one bit! (Unless you're receiving it as a gift-that would be nice!) I especially like Sarah Connolly's magnificent Cesare in the original Glyndebourne cast. 'Cesare' is my favourite Handel opera of all.

The only thing that is keeping me from buying it tomorrow is that I saw it in Chicago and the Sesto was Maite Beaumont. But on the DVD it is Angelika Kirschlager. Is she better or worse than Maite?

Oh! Go and view my latest upload with Kirchschlager (and Patricia Bardon, also in the Chicago version), to see/hear her as Sesto.

I like Angelika Kirchschlager very much (her Bach arias CD is fab and I highly recommend it), although in the role of Sesto I personally thought that Maite Beaumont gave a much stronger performance than Kirchschlager. But check her out yourself, too, in my freshly uploaded clip.

ive been lucky enough to work at glynedebourne backstage this season and sesto was performed by stephanie duscharach(cant spell her french name sorry!)and she was amazing!although the real star of course was sarah connolly.world class!
