Great letter though, very well-written for an 11-year-old. It highlights a growing problem - creeping government intervention in every aspect of people's lives. It's happening here too, and I don't like it at all. As Henry Thoreau said, "that government is best which governs least". I can think of several western leaders who would do well to remember that.

This young man has the qualities I only wish my representatives had. Our government is OF the people. This is what is lost. The government does what we want, not the other way around. WE know what's best for us. We are not children who have to be led by the hand. They are going to "Mandate" all areas of our life and those that refuse to see the reality are doomed.
