After viewing Potts he has a good voice although I don't think it's operatic enough. Too high. As one person said he brought opera to the masses. I don't believe he would be well received in an opera. He did Granada which I thought was pretty bad. Angela Gheorghiu does it well. But, who cares! Potts has made L5 million which is about $7.5 dollars. Listen to Natasha Marsh & Potts. Her voice is so far above in quality. For those who like Potts keep giving him your money.

When I listen to a genius like Pavarotti, I hear an excellent technique, but does his voice hit my emotional strings? Not at all. Potts however HAS that skill as no other, that's what makes him unique and that's what art should be all about.

Of course there are improvements in studio recording equipment and sound tuning for every album. I mean he sounds a lot more different than when i first heard him. His voice seems more stable everywhere. If u are talking about totally changing his voice, i do not agree Auto Tune or Milli Vanilli is at work here.
I've read critics trashing Paul and its heartbreaking. What they don't understand is music must touch people. Its never about technical supremacy or class. There is no doubt about Paul's talent and skill, most importantly he can do what many others fail: reach into people emotionally. I have heard other opera singers but they can't make me feel what I feel with Paul's voice. The ability to connect to people is something neither training nor technical perfection can achieve. Its a gift.
You hit the nail exactly on the head and this is what I keep saying too! Music should not be analyzed about every technical detail, music should be rated by how it affects people, period. You can have the most technical skills, but if you can't connect with people, then you've failed as a singer in my view.

This is about tenth time my wife and I have sat and listened to this video and still can't help but get misty eyed. This man has an incredible voice and will be on the world stage for a long time to come.
I am also going to predict that the CD that this song is on will be a 30 million plus seller and this song will be a single hit for Mr. Potts.

I have almost all Bocelli albums, a wonderful skillful singer, no doubts about that, but don't ask me how... but Paul Potts grabs me more emotionally with his voice (not just with this song) than Bocelli does and mind you, Bocelli is already very good at putting emotions into a song.

A moving performance no doubt but I still believe his very first audition was the most mind blowing. It was unexpected and he really made a statement with it. A true talent. He is also very lucky because there are many like him out there who haven't been given an opportunity and may never get an opportunity. He is very very good.

After a while, tenors can become a little too much, but Pauls voice I could listen to till cows come home.
Pauls powerful range has been polished, and he is now coming in to his own, and I like to play him most of all above all the legends.
I wonder what he will sound like in another 2 yrs.

This is about tenth time my wife and I have sat and listened to this video and still can't help but get misty eyed. This man has an incredible voice and will be on the world stage for a long time to come.

I have almost all Bocelli albums, a wonderful skillful singer, no doubts about that, but don't ask me how... but Paul Potts grabs me more emotionally with his voice (not just with this song) than Bocelli does and mind you, Bocelli is already very good at putting emotions into a song.

Do you mean in English? there are many versions of this song, leona lewis has covered it, stereophonics, celine dion (dont recommend that one) and roberta flack, its a truly beautiful song that brings tears to my eyes every single time i hear it, sure you will find a different version here on you tube, i'd type out the lyrics here but best heard really.

A moving performance no doubt but I still believe his very first audition was the most mind blowing. It was unexpected and he really made a statement with it. A true talent. He is also very lucky because there are many like him out there who haven't been given an opportunity and may never get an opportunity. He is very very good.

This is my favorite song. I am just how you were not too long ago, a normal and unknown man, whos desire is to sing opera and be a blessing to people.
