There are the word Khmer in Khmer inscription. Can't you read Khmer inscription? if you can't, find good books translated in English. Now there are many books written by Western writers about Angkor and Khmer, if u do not believe in French and Khmer, you can find them by American writers or others. Varma(n) is the word from Sanskrit, it just the ending name of Khmer kings and officials. Cham Kings also use the ending name Varma(s).

There are the word "Khmer" in many inscriptions, one example for u: an inscription (K1158) found in Nokor Reach Sima (former Khmer land now in Thailand), Khmer king prayed Avalokitesvara at Abhayakiri, "There would not be invaded by Java to Khmer country". You can ask Thai professors such as Prof. Chirapat Prapandvidya or Kangvol Khatshima. They haved researched this inscription. Try to know reality.

The inscription that I told u has the word Khmer, but you don't know about this inscription. The inscription I told is in Thailand found at Nokor Reach Sima (former Khmer territory). This inscription (K11580) in the 11th century under reign of King Udayditya Varman II dated back to the reign of King Jayavarman II. When u know this information about the inscription, you will know Khmer owned mighty Khmer empire. this, just one example of many inscriptions that have the word "Khmer".

That inscription (K1158) has 36 lines, 30 lines are in Sanskrit and the lower 6 lines is in Khmer. Thai Prof. Chirapat Prapandvidya, a Prof at Archaeology Faculty of Silpakor (Artist) University in Bangkok translated this inscription in English in the book named "The Journal of the Siam Society, Vol. 78, Part 2" in 1990. You will see the word "Sruk Khmer".

Varman is the word from Sanskrit using at the ending name of officials and kings, the later kings did not use this word because they respected Theravada Buddhism (no longer Mahayana Buddhism and Hinduism), so it not important for them to use the word Varma(n). Now there are many books written by Western writers about Angkor and Khmer, if u do not believe in French and Khmer, you can find them by American writers or others. There are the word "Khmer" in many inscriptions, one example for u: an inscription (K1158) found in Nokor Reach Sima (former Khmer land now in Thailand), Khmer king prayed Avalokitesvara at Abhayakiri, "There would not be invaded by Java to Khmer country". You can ask Thai professors such as Prof. Chirapat Prapandvidya or Kangvol Khatshima. They haved researched this inscription. Try to know reality.

That inscription (K1158) has 36 lines, 30 lines are in Sanskrit and the lower 6 lines is in Khmer. Thai Prof. Chirapat Prapandvidya, a Prof at Archaeology Faculty of Silpakor (Artist) University in Bangkok translated this inscription in English in the book named "The Journal of the Siam Society, Vol. 78, Part 2" in 1990. You will see the word "Sruk Khmer".

Varman is the word from Sanskrit using at the ending name of officials and kings, the later kings did not use this word because they respected Theravada Buddhism (no longer Mahayana Buddhism and Hinduism), so it not important for them to use the word Varma(n).
