You're awesome man, very talented. You have definitely demonstrated that the tone is in your hands! Everything else (amp, pedals, mods) is just tone quality. Keep it up brotha.
BTW. For a young guy you already have great technique with your vibrato which for most players is really challenging. If you havn't already checked it out, get Stevie Ray Vaughn live at the El Mocombo DVD. It with blow your mind and anyone who studies it can only get better.
@Pazak68 Hey, thank you for the comments. I really really love to hear feedback and some criticism from people. I'll make sure to check it out. My favorite live performance by SRV is in Tokyo. (:
Sounds good to me man! Keep it up. Phil's a great guy. Some him play with Healey forever ago and I was lucky enough to run into him at a small guitar shop in Hamilton Ontario about 2000. Chatted with him for a couple minutes.
That was actually pretty good man! Im impressed you were able to get such a close tone to PS with a such a small amp. Is your ts9 stock, or did you get it modded? Also, in this vid, whats the order you got your wah, fuzz, and ts9 plugged in?
Fantastic work. Utterly perfect example of what can be accomplished with minimal gear. But the MOST important lesson here is something you've not recognized. The majority of that tone is in your fingers, my friend. You're not giving yourself enough credit! The gear is roughly 25% of the tone!
PS, slow down on Morning Star, and add a little one-beat break to your Powerful Thing :)
Nice man, sounds great. The reverb is surprisingly important. I'm also amazed at how he goes from really heavy fuzz leads (One Foot in the Grave) to something sparkly and shimmery (Alchemy).
Of the tones you displayed, I think Slip Away was my favorite. Sounded great. On the record he has this saggy fuzzy quality to that intro that is hard to repeat.
