i REALLY REALLY REALLY wish i looked like the lee grant character in the movie - she looked ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS as her short hairstyle complemented her black dress with the sheer sleeves. the big rings she wore on her fingers also complemented her look VERY NICELY!

This film is labelled an all-star dud, but I liked it...and Airport '79 makes this one look like Citizen Kane. :)

Our family visted Universal Studios in 1978. The big exhibit besides Jaws, was the Airport 77 theatre. Your seats rocked and the the stage filled wih water simulating the crash under water. Very cool to a kid . Amazing these old stars like Oliva de Havilland appearing in this movie. I loved visiting LA in the 70's as a kid.

Airport (the original) was the best , this was good ,at least better then Airport 75 .

Wonder if their will be a box set of all of them

@hlywdplayer Actually there is a boxed set of all 4 Airports. I've seen it in stores for about $25-40 depending where you shop.

These movies hardly needed the spoof lol The ideas were so ridiculous, I mean who has ever heard of an airplane that manages to hit the sea and stay intact to become a virtual submarine. Oh joy I loved these movies as a kid. The 70's were cool - the best era for suspension of disbelief.

lee grant made this film memorable nand WHY does Darren McGavin get his own credit? he wasnt as big as some of the othyers in the cast? The barman is played by a young OJ Simpson...and anything is better than Airport 75...now that was truly awful
