Whoa those are some sick rolls! I think this has finally convinced me of making some contact poi, even though it's a compromise since many other moves are limited with them.
you should go for it, those kind of poi are lovely to spinn. im just wondering, wich kind of moves are limited with a pair of contact poi (if that is their real name?) im going to make my self a new pair soon,it´s not my first pair i just choose wrong strings for my old ones, first ones i used to thick string and the second ones i used to stiff string..... so this time im going for a realy smooth string :D
Well I like to have a variety of lengths available depending on the move I'm doing. I use poi all the way from my hand to the floor which is approximately the same as my poi heads meeting exactly when I have my arms outstretched and this extra length allows for precise flowers and a great wariety of carry-over wraps with several parts of my body, etc.
It's convinced me as well. The compromise is worth it. For the time being, things might seem limited, but I'll say that it wasn't but a year ago the thought of Cateye Flowers was deemed impossible. As well all know, nothing is impossible in poi :D
When complete integration happens and you don't have to think about it, I think the idea of these techniques limiting other things will just disappear...as more mind numbing tech develops :D
Yeah, I guess it's time to embrace the contact future of poi and forget about the good old trusted carryover wrap complex combos. I think it's kind of the same debate with shortstring vs longstring in diabolo, at one point you just have to accept that it's 2 different props.

This is a huge part of the next huge paradigm shift in poi. Ronan, Cyrille and alot of others are trailblazing this front,, but you are illustrating alot of extremely interesting patterns.

This was really awesome, some interesting variations on stuff I've seen before, along with some really sweet new moves.
