  • Fucking hell, this really shows how annoying the compression rate is on youtube.

  • How did you eliminate the noise of AGC in this video ?

You are using T2i and Azden external mic.

I really like this video, and it amazed me.

  • @TheClassicalSaudi The hiss caused by the AGC is only noticeable when the ambient noise is relatively low. Only when there is a constant audio such as running water, the AGC will not raise the audio level to compensate for silence.

  • now i gotta piss!!

  • Sorry if this has been answered already but what lens are you using? Is it the one that came with it? Judging from the bokeh I would say no but I've gotten some pretty good shots from the kit lens.

  • @iamravenous For this particular video test, I used the Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L prime lens. A fabulous lens for a cropped sensor. An alternative is the Canon EF 35mm f/2 lens.

  • When I upload the videos to my computer, and play them, It skips. It's very choppy and makes it appear like frames are missing. However, while on the camera they look great. Is it a problem with the camera or just my graphics card or something?

  • @SymbiotikMusic It's your computer processor. I used to have that with HD video on my old shit computer

  • @jesswa4 You are correct. The H264 video files on PC are very processor intensive. As for Apple computers with MacOSX, the H264 files are native to the operating system and playback smoothly like in iMovie'09.

  • @SymbiotikMusic - You need more RAM in your computer.

  • What should i buy an ipad or a canon T2i

  • @willreynolds14 You should wait until the Canon 60D comes out next month. The hi-res swivel screen looks nice. Not sure about manual audio control or video resolution and frames rates but the camera looks very interesting. I will post my findings on my ChadSorianoPhotoBlog(dotCom) when I get my hands on it.

  • @Canon1dm4 yeah but the 60D is going to be much more expensive than the T2i, plus it wont come out in the uk for atleast a couple of weeks. I am going to go for the canon T2i instead of the ipad.

    Thanks

  • @Canon1dm4

I am actually making that very same decision between the iPad and the Canon T2i and I am choosing the camera. Think about all of the creative and more productive things you could do with it. I'm sure you have a nice enough computer to surf the web on;)

  • @willreynolds14 you cant really compare the two? :S

  • @Appleaddict22 I think they are comparing price point and not the actual decision which device has better image quality. The two items are around the same price. The iPad 64gb 3G is $829 and the T2i Body is $799. Of course the $1099 Canon 60D will be the third contestant in that difficult decision.

  • @AskYazzy I do not know the exact date on new releases. In the past, Canon announces new products late September and the street date is in October. There is a refurbished Canon T1i with kit lens by Canon on Adorama(dotCom) for $584. I have ordered refurbished Canon SLR's from Adorama in the past and they are good as new but come in a plain white box with all NIB accessories. That is the best deal at this moment. In one month, I am not sure what will be better or available.

  • @AskYazzy My only suggestion for that price range is the Canon Powershot SX20 IS. It has your zoom range, 720p HD video, manual still photo modes and your built in microphone. Anyway, in the next month Canon is going to release new models and new replacements for their camera lineup. For $600 and change, you can get a Canon Rebel T1i with kit lens. Good Luck with your choice.

  • @Canon1dm4 How do they sell this camera so cheap???? it has the video quality of like an 800 dollar camcorder and an amazing camera???? also, what are the drawbacks to using this for video instead of a camcorder. isn't it much less practical to use this for video, with the file cap, lack of zoom (because of lenses), or is the video quality and other features really good enough to make it a good video camerA?

  • @indycolts4 Yes, all the drawbacks are true. In my opinion, the video quality of the Canon T2i and other Canon Dlsr's outweigh the drawbacks. In my past work experience, I am already use to manual focus and exposure and cumbersome controls. DSLR video shooting is not for everyone. With a little patience, the visual outcome is truly rewarding.

  • This is the perfect thing to shoot for testing the video. The t1i and nikon cameras as well all had the exposure jumping during recording and weird frame rate issues I can see the T2i has fixed all that. Good shooting. Does the T2i have a microphone input?

  • @menoats Yes, the T2i has a stereo mic input minijack (3.5mm). Thanks for watching!

  • I am using Premiere Pro CS3... and the way I am rendering them, they always come out at like around 100-200mb.

If you could take a look at some of my videos and give me any quick tips on rendering or compression I would be VERY grateful. Thanks.

  • @RebelT2i The last time I used PPCS3 was when I tried CIneform Neoscene Codec to batch convert H264 files into the lossless Neoscene AVI codec. The file size escapes me because I have been immersed in Final Cut Pro and iMovie'09 for so long. Sorry I could not help...

  • would you recommend this over the 7D money is an issue but i am planning to get into the film making business.

  • @xxxDeadlyJonxxx if its mainly for video then get the T2i because it is the exact same quality as the 7d. The cameras only differ in the area of taking pictures. So save some money

  • @xxxDeadlyJonxxx Yes, just like @xxxDeadlyJonxxx said, the T2i is the best value. I have a T2i evaluation in my ChadSorianoPhotoBlog(dotCom) and have photos and videos comparing the 7D and T2i. In my opinion, the T2i has better skin detail compared to the 7D sensor. Search T2i Review or T2i Verdict in my PhotoBlog search bar.

  • @Canon1dm4 and just wondering, would you recommend any mic for outdoor usage, more like parks or windy areas?

  • @xxxDeadlyJonxxx The two mics I use in my videos, I make sure I use a foam windscreen. For the average weather conditions it is adequate. As for windier conditions, professionals refer to bigger windscreens as "Dead Cats". Those are the big furry wind socks on shotgun microphones. Go on my ChadSorianoPhotoBlog(dotcom) and search T2i video review to check out the shotgun microphones.

  • @Canon1dm4 thank you, you helped very much

  • Nice video

Did you use an external stereo Mic. in this video?

  • @TheClassicalSaudi Yes, I used an Azden SGM 1X with the included hot shoe mount and a Pearstone LMT 100 Hi Lo XLR to mini jack adapter.

  • @Canon1dm4 Thank you so much for these details

  • @Canon1dm4

Are there any particular microphones that you would recommend ?

I am looking at some mics right now, but I haven't made an decisions yet.

  • @RebelT2i Yes, I evaluate the microphones used in this video on my PhotoBlog here...ChadSorianoPhotoBlog(dotCom).

Go to the Search Bar on top left and enter "T2i Video Review". You will get all my posts and the microphone section almost at the last post at the bottom.

  • @Canon1dm4

    Will do ;)

  • @RebelT2i Thank you...

  • can you film slow motion video?

  • @AussieKidProductions I will keep you posted when I do...

  • what type of memory card do you use?

  • @EmceeGeek In the T2i, I use the Trancend 16gb or 32gb Class 6 SDHC memory card. The 16gb is around $44 and the 32gb is about $100. Both work fine in the T2i with no problem. All my T2i videos on my channel use the Transcend SDHC Class 6 cards.

  • What lens did you use here? :)

  • @roost31

    Canon EF 35mm f/1.4 L prime lens.

  • This was cool. I bought a T2i last month...I've recorded some cool footage with it...It's on my page and it's called "A New York Minute". Take a look and enjoy!!! Please share!

  • good video. i tried editing in imovie, but when i go to export to hd, there is no audio. it seems to export audio in every size execept hd. i like editing in final cut pro better, but i have a g5, with fcp version 4.5. i don't have the cash for a new intel imac. any ideas what i'm doing wrong with the imovie export?

  • @scottrngr Are you using iMovie'09? That is the only version of iMovie I have used with the Canon video files, so I am not sure if the previous iMovie versions will work smoothly. As for FCP, I suggest buying the upgrade to FCP 6 or 7 to take advantage of the Canon E-1 movie plugin. I have also a Mac G4 running Leopard and FCP6 with the plugin and iMovie'09. It is 3-5 times slower than my first gen MacBookPro Intel but it does not crash.

  • I wonder that lens you used here?

  • I use Final Cut Express - can it be edited in that?

  • @flashgunfilms You have to treat Final Cut Express like Final Cut Pro. Unfortunately, FCE is not native to H264 files like iMovie'09. In FCE, you have to make your sequence preset (timeline) into a lossless codec such as Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC). FCE will then transcode your h264 files into AIC to edit smoothly. When you export your sequence (timeline) to a finished product, you have to export using Quicktime conversion and choose H264 compression.

  • @Canon1dm4 OK...so are you saying I can edit easily using FCE or should I just upgrade to FCP?

  • @flashgunfilms The only benefit to FCP over FCE is the new Canon E-1 Movie plugin for only FCP. The plugin enables FCP to have a very fast and smooth H264 workflow unlike anyother NLE system. The workflow streamlines from the transfer of files of the memory card all the way to transcoding and importing the video files to your project bin. It is a great workflow. I used it in my "Beach Days are Back Again" video test on my channel page.

  • @Canon1dm4 I think I do that already - I shoot with an XHa1 in HD. SO bascially it should be the same. Thanks

  • hi

just an info--- about quicktime compression

do u use before use imovie or later?

  • @deepeightyeight The T2i h264 files out of the camera are native to iMovie'09. No need for transcoding and the files play perfectly smooth. As for exporting your final product, you can go to the "share" drop menu and export directly to Youtube (easiest) or you can export using Quicktime Conversion for other video sharing sites. I just use H264 compression and pick high on the quality slide bar. You have to use trial and error to get a specific file size with the quality setting.

  • Nice test. which one do you like, ISO auto or ISO manual?

  • @dd93012 I am all for Manual ISO settings because I have direct control over ISO noise. The ISO may spike suddenly from some random shadow or reflection and cause ISO noise.

  • Did you edit that footage native in your editing program or did you have to render it first to work with? H.264 is not the greatest codec to edit with so I am curious what you did!

  • Yes, the H264 files were native to iMovie'09 and needed no rendering.

  • vc sabe se o software dela funciona nos mac com snow leopard ?

Do u know if the cam software work on a mac with snow leopard ?

    Valeu

    Thz

  • @ice2642 Yes, Digital Photo Professional image editing software out of the T2i box is compatible with Snow Leopard. This video can be edited with the free software from the Apple iMac 21.5 inch screen called iMovie'09.

  • what mic is that?

  • @ObeyBrandon I used a Azden SGM 1X with the included hot shoe mount and a Pearstone LMT 100 Hi Lo XLR to mini jack adapter.

  • What file extension does the video format save as: avi? mov? mpg?

  • The file extension is .mov

It is a MPEG4 file (H264 codec) with a Quicktime wrapper. The file is native to any Apple Computer because of the proprietary Quicktime extension. Apple had to put their spin on the MPEG4 compression.

  • is there a time limit on how long you can record like the D5000?

  • Depending on the resolution (1080p,720p or 480p), you are at the 4gb limitation of the flash memory file format of FAT32. So in 1080p and 720p, 12 minutes is the limit. 480p is roughly double that time.

  • where did you order the camera from?

  • North Tampa Photography in Tampa,FL

  • @Canon1dm4 so nice if you really take out that annoying background noise and put some nice music.

  • wow it's beautiful lol

  • what L lens are you using in the pictures on smugmug

  • @ObeyBrandon Thanks for watching! The lens is a Canon EF 35mm f1.4 L prime.

  • @Canon1dm4 It is great on a crop camera because it is a 50mm equivalent and the fast aperture yields a great bokeh. Another alternative is a the Canon EF 35mm f2.0 for less money.

  • looks and sounds great !

  • nice .....

i need to se some panning.

and whats with all the water features ...

    now i need to pee
