  • Anyone knows from where the sample "Ein Schauspieler" comes from?

  • Comment removed

  • @collagene1 Thank you, your comment was removed though?!

  • Damn my Memories still on youtube! :oD

    But hey.....still dance/ party on!

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • OMG...I'm having an orgasm

    down down down roling tocapitalizmmmmmmm

  • Awesome...

  • Epic. Fantastic. Great.

does somebody where this sample was taken from

  • @0307176 this is die liebe, its on many of there albums

  • It's a modified version of a piece by Helmut Herzfeld published on the cover of an issue of AIZ (an old, anti-Nazi magazine). The original had sharper imagery, with more detail; the face was originally a depiction of Hermann Göring; the original's use of the swastika on the uniform has, of course, been replaced with Liabach's logo.

  • The Contrast music/lyrics makes this song sound almost cynical to me... But it´s totally awesome!

  • Just like it says in the beginning, "Ein Schauspieler!" - an actor.

I'm still struggling a bit with my interpretation, but I guess Laibach try to uncover love as a mask hiding selfish aims. The opposite of this can be found in "Die grösste Kraft" with Anja Rupel singing emphatically about love, which in turn is the mask.

  • One of the best songs of all time :-) ... LOVE the contrast between the beautiful lyrics and the powerful music.

  • what album was this version on?

  • You can find it on disc one of "Ambition - The History Of Cherry Red Records Vol. 1&2." Again, this is my preferred rendition.

Also very good is the original version, as found on Laibach's "Nova Akropola" and also on "Enchantments: A Cleopatra Compilation."

A subpar (in my opinion) rendition can be found on Laibach's "Neu Konservatiw."

There also exists a wholly different creature, with female vocals, retitled "Die Grösste Kraft."

And finally there's the cover version by Das Ich & Atrocity.

  • Not much in the way of lyrics here:

Love is the greatest force; can do anything.

The version of Die Liebe posted here is my favorite rendition by Laibach, though the bands Atrocity and Das Ich collaborated to create a fine cover as well.

  • I thought it was:

    which would be:

love is the greatest force that creates everything

  • @kc62301 I think that would be more like "Love is the greatest force, that can achieve everything."

  • Could you please give us lyrics?: )

    Very interesting song.

  • Favorited. I don't have a turntable, so can't listen to mine. Thanks for putting it up here.

  • I say the same. This goes to my favourites. Cheers.

  • One of my favorite Laibach songs :) Thank you for posting this.
