Quite possibly. He was rocking a Roland DJ70 mkII ( proto groove sampler type keyboard) from '96 well into the '00s and I wouldn't doubt that he still rocks that thang to this day. Whatever works for you to get the ideas out of your head and into sound I guess. There are still folks making badass tracks w/ Ataris (and not just chiptunes guys either.
That said I would kill a baby to spend a couple weeks showing him the joys of Ableton.

It is great to see an interview with Mike Patton. I have always been a fan of his work with Faith No More, in particular his vocal work on 'The Real Thing" (the song). He is very down to earth and this is a great insight into his songwriting methods.
And Fins are european, no? So wouldnt be be considered 100% anglo? But then not all euros are considered 'anglo' i suppose. I have heard some fins do have a bit of an 'asian look' to them. Patton looks european, but he also looks like he might have a tad of asian in him as well. I was always curious about his exact ethnicity.

Mike (or anybody who knows him reading this - pass it on) You should consider doing an entire dvd for budding sound engineer students/fans. Release it via Ipecac and donate the proceeds to buying insrtuments/recording gear/software for disadvantaged kids. Come on Mike, You were great with the Kids of Widney high... Lets do that dvd... 1 day in your studio...

It is great to see an interview with Mike Patton. I have always been a fan of his work with Faith No More, in particular his vocal work on 'The Real Thing" (the song). He is very down to earth and this is a great insight into his songwriting methods.

And Fins are european, no? So wouldnt be be considered 100% anglo? But then not all euros are considered 'anglo' i suppose. I have heard some fins do have a bit of an 'asian look' to them. Patton looks european, but he also looks like he might have a tad of asian in him as well. I was always curious about his exact ethnicity.
